Hello,

Can you help me explain to a new user of Kadence Ascend Theme, what the difference – thinking – is behind a Portfolio “page” and an ordinary Page is?

We can choose between Portfolio, Post and Page. Personally I simply see the Portfolio as a Page with a bit of other features.

As of the most recent version of Kadence Blocks (1.9.14), custom buttons that are loaded on a page through a widget, the color and transparency of the button isn’t honored. The hover color and transparency is honored though. On regular pages/posts, it’s fine. Here’s an example: *Login to see link The home page is widgetized using the Genesis Featured Page widget. In the section with four horizontal buttons (web words, media guru, etc.) if you inspect the element you’ll see the background color is #555555 and transparent. What it should be as defined in the page is a color of #BCD2D4 and transparency of 1. I temporarily rolled back to a previous version of the plugin (1.9.9) and it’s fine. This is happening on multiple websites with multiple themes, all Genesis child themes. So something happened between that version and 1.9.14.

Hello Miwa,

To confirm, did you paste the custom CSS code in Theme Options > Custom CSS? I do not see the CSS code being applied on your website. Please make sure to save your changes in the Theme Options and if you have any website/server cache, kindly purge them to make sure you’re seeing the latest version of your pages.

I don’t know how to preformat short codes. I just inserted the short code into the page as the only text besides the page title. Not sure how it got all messed up, however, after giving this some thought and your comment about manually entering them, I think that’s what I am going to do to reduce spam.

Hey Chris,
Testimonials are manually added by you. You can use the testimonial form shortcode to allows users to submit testimonials, but you will then need to create testimonial posts. Does that make sense?
As for your page, it just looks like you preformatted your shortcode. Try pasting the shortcode into the text editor.

Hi,

I am new to Kadence Theme and WordPress in general. Played around with Kadence Blocks quite a bit and all is starting to fall in place.

However, I am trying to make a home page that doesn’t have the links in the header show up. I would like to have a home page with either:

– Homepage with no header at all (but do want a header on all the other pages)
– Homepage with logo in the header only (not the links). And all the other pages with a header with the links.

How would I create this?

Hi,

I would need to be able to screen video record on my iPhone, which I don’t know how to do, in order to capture this behaviour. I included a page above where the element is installed and you can use a mobile device to see this behaviour. I’ve experienced both the flashing and the disappearing using DuckDuckGo, Chrome and Safari on my iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 14.3.

What I will do is install the same element two times; one set to Fixed on Top to demonstrate the flashing behaviour on scroll, and the other set to Fixed Top After Scroll to demonstrate the disappearing behaviour. I will reply privately with the urls.

I’ve enabled the breadcrumbs in the customizer and they are displaying below the page title.
Is it possible to display them below the header. I don’t see any option to achieve this.

I’ll buy into the Kadence platform if it supports building the look of the attached image. The webpage including the top nav bar and header image is boxed and separate from the background (including a margin at the top for the background to show). Any advice on this????

Hi,

Since some time I have a problem with my menu on mobile.

When you click on the menu on a mobile device I cannot scroll the menu down. It just scrolls a tiny bit and after that only the page behind it scrolls. When the page is scrolled all the way to the bottom the menu scrolls further again..

Cannot find what the problem is. Any suggestions?

Will virtue gallery support about 300 images?/ just thought to check before I really get going.

Is it possible to randomize the images displayed (not manually by hand have to click and drag 300+ images) with either image carousel option and mosaic option?

I attempted to organise images in the plugin ‘WordPress library folder’ did not make it easier and no. randomize option.

I would like to be able to link individual images in the gallery, to say another page, gallery-page that I set up, is that possible?

and also is there an option to share an individual image from the gallery to social media?

Hi guys! Let me just say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Kadence Pro theme, Kadence Pro Blocks and all the starter templates. They ROCK! Thank you for all the amazing work you guys always do 🙂

So, I’m building my new ecommerce website and have hit a little snag and was hoping you guys could help me figure this out. It’s with the integration between mailchimp, woocommerce and user account registrations. I’m also using a combination of the Yoga starter template and the Print Shop starter template.

On the front page there’s a sign up area, I used a mailchimp third-party plugin for that and it works fine. I also have the woocommerce mailchimp plugin added and I believe that works fine as well.

However, I’m trying to set it up so that when a customer signs up for a new account, they will automatically be added to my mailchimp list if the checkbox to join the list is checked.

Right now my workflow is when the customer clicks on “Login or Register”, they are re-directed to the my-account page where they can either sign in to an existing account or register for a new one. If they log in they go to the dashboard and see their orders and downloads. If they are registering it creates a new user account. I like the way the my-account page is set up currently where there is the sidebar with the downloads and order history, etc. , so I’m hesitant to just create a landing page from mailchimp. But I want the automation of when they register for their account they land in my mailchimp list instantly.

Don’t know the best way to set this up. Can you advise?

I’m sorry if my request is long and overly complicated and confusing, lol. Any advise you can offer is really appreciate. Thank you!!!

How could I change the order of the filter menu on the portfolio grid page? I have set all “sub”-portfolio pages to menu order with 1,2,3… but the filter seem to ignore this.

You can see my use case on our homepage. The alert bar appearing at the top of the page uses an advanced heading for styling and contains a text link. I had to add specific styling in the custom CSS area in order for my default link settings to display nicely against the background. Easy enough to do, but as mentioned, not in one place; more difficult to manage changes/hunt down customizations.

I’m specifically referring to the Will Week sticker I have set up – I’ll link to the page privately as it is still in development. Annually, we hold this event and people in our community wait all year for it. Having it up front and in their faces is super-important… except for if the visitor is not looking for an estate plan, in which case, the visitor has ignored the alert and is scrolling past it. In cases like this, it would be really useful to be able to have the element disappear as they scroll down the page. (I could certainly implement this differently, but the way I’ve designed it is the way I want to use it!) Perhaps there are more settings that I’ve not dug deep enough to discover that would allow for this feature? Thanks for any input!

Thanks very much for your reply, and I’m sorry for my late reply.

I’ve tried the css you suggested, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work out and the Home Page Title was still shown above the image.

The custom CSS looked like this (including the default “.home-product-carousel.home-margin.home-padding”)
when I pasted the one you showed me:

.home-product-carousel.home-margin.home-padding {
padding-top: 60px;
}
h3.hometitle {
display: none;
}

Is there any alternative way or maybe I could change something above?

Any instructions will be appreciated.
