September 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm #257818You can certainly add a slider into the content of your page, then just turn off the page title.

First, I figured out why the old style page with limited capabilities appeared (and not the Gutenberg looking editor). I had set under “Reading / Settings” the Posts page to “Posts”. When I removed this value (that is, set it back to “-Select-“), I now see the Gutenberg editor.
The Kadence Blocks Pro Post Grid/Carousel Block does not seem to have the “standard” look that I like on desktops, with the thumbnail on the left and the category/title/initial text on the right. See attached image as site is currently displayed. Can I recreate it to look the same way using Kadence Blocks?
If so, I would like to use that Kadence block, but I may encounter another problem that you helped me resolve earlier. I want to have infinite scrolling, so that the user can scroll through all posts on the same page. Can I do that with the Post Grid?
If not, what is the easiest way to have the current Posts page (https://goodnessparty.org/posts/) display all posts in chronological order?
(FYI, as an aside…I tried using the “Shortcode” widget that comes with Gutenberg. The shortcode text simply appears when rendering the page, rather than executing. Not sure why.)
In forum: Kadence ThemeSeptember 28, 2020 at 11:15 am #257783Now that the Block Editor has gained regular use, I would be interested in having a pared-down version of the Virtue theme that stripped out whatever code is associated with using various pre-block_editor page builders. The theme would be smaller – how much faster would it be? I don’t know enough of what happens ‘behind the scenes’ with WP to know whether the speed difference would be minimal since a site that uses WP blocks only isn’t calling on all the code dedicated to page builders to do anything, or whether there are checks every time a web page is put together no longer needing to be done, once the page builder code is gone, speeding up the site.

Hey Daniel,
Using a shortcode is likely your simplest solution. Rather than using the blog page template, you can just paste the shortcode into the content area of a default template page. Or, if using the Gutenberg editor and Kadence Blocks Pro you can Post Grid/Carousel Block as that will allow you to set the order to ascending. http://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium-10/post-grid-carousel/
Hope that’s helpful!Best,
HannahIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: shop page not full width
Hi,
Somehow the background of the menu changes when assigning the below page as the ‘shop page’ in woocommerce. Also the block with the image and title isn’t showing full width after assigning as the ‘shop page’.
How can I change this?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How to minimize the gap of page rows
In forum: Kadence ThemeI need your advice on best practice:
I want a page with a Hero image on top below the menu and text/content in a narrower column below the hero.
The page parameters are:
Transparent header disable,
Page Title disable,
Page layout fullwidth,
content style unboxedUsing Gutenberg + the “Row / Layout” block from Kadence blocks I choose 20% – 60% – 20%.
I populate the 60% column with text + further content. The left and right columns are empty. The result is as I need it.
But is this best practice or just fíddling around?Or shall I use a boxed page layout for my content and do something (which I do not know) with the hero?
Best

Hey,
Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
You can add a featured product’s grid to your page using a shortcode like this:[products limit="6" columns="3" visibility="featured"]
You can add a custom carousel from Theme Options > Home Layout. Let me know when you have added both and I can provide css to hide/show for mobile/desktop.Best,
HannahIn forum: Membership ForumsSeptember 28, 2020 at 2:37 am #257752Hi Guys,
First off, I would like to say I am loving the Kadence Theme. The speed of the WordPress backend has drastically improved using your theme and pro block. Keep up the great work.
OK here is the problem.
I am trying to get different categories to show up on different page layouts.
I have done the following.
1. Downloaded the Custom Post Type UI plugin
2. Added a new name for the category
3. Moved the posts into this new category.
4. Went into the menu section and added the category to the main menu.
5. Went into Kadence theme > Custom post types, and the post type is there with a Layout and Archive.
6. Went to design the layout but the content is not being pulled through to the layout, nothing is being shown on the page.Where do you think I may be going wrong.
Thank you for any help and advice you can give me.
Kind Regards
Jaki

September 27, 2020 at 10:28 pm #257744Hey,
The latest update added “initial” support for bbpress the main focus was on the topic pages. I have plans for the forums and improving the way those work, coming soon. Thanks for your feedback. In my initial check, I didn’t edit the way categories work or change the default styling of a subforum. Can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing? Or a link?Ben
In forum: Ascend ThemeWebsite page listing all posts: *Login to see link
I have a Posts page that lists all posts. It is currently displaying posts in descending chronological order (most recent first).
I would like to change it to ascending order so the first post displayed is the earliest post, followed by the next earliest, etc., in chronological order.
I saw that there may be a shortcode that could be used to do that. However, my Posts page does not allow me to enter a shortcode. I used the new WordPress block approach to create the Home page and posts, but this “Posts” page looks old style. See image.
Can you steer me in the right direction?
Thanks.
In forum: Kadence BlocksSeptember 27, 2020 at 8:48 am #257735As a Super Admin, I’m attempting to activate Kadence Blocks Pro on a multi-site subsite on which the free version of Kadence Blocks is already activated.
Kadence Blocks Pro activates fine but puts this error message at the top of every page:
The following plugins have not been activated: Kadence Blocks Pro.At the end of the notice, there is a Click here to activate link which points to:
/wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=kadence_plugin_activationThe problem seems to be in lines 161-174 kadence-blocks-pro\kadence-classes\kadence-activation\class-kadence-plugin-api-manager.php. Commenting out these lines removes the notice.
First, you shouldn’t expect the plugin to be network activated. Your plugin represents functionality that isn’t appropriate for every site on the network. Some of them don’t even use the block editor. Second, on a network, you shouldn’t expect the subsite to know or be able to enter an API key. We manually update plugins on our network rather than updating via the WP dashboard, so we’re not using the API key to support updates. If you want to use an API key for security, create a DEFINE that can go in wp-config.php so that there’s no need to add the API key via a dashboard.
Hope that helps.
In forum: Ascend ThemeSeptember 27, 2020 at 6:49 am #257733I’m trying to make use of the built-in login/register modal by including the relevant CSS class and data attribute on the menu item I’m targeting. Adding the CSS class is easy, I can do that from the menu’s page and add 'kt-pop-modal'. I obviously need to also add the data-mfp-src="#kt-extras-modal-login" attribute which I’m trying to do with the nav_menu_link_attributes filter, but it seems to not be filtering my mobile menu at all. The only menu that is showing up if I dump the variable is main-menu.
I realise the functionality already exists in Ascend theme to have the dropdown mobile menu etc but for my purposes I can’t fit anymore than the cart icon and the mobile menu with the logo at its required size in the mobile header.

September 26, 2020 at 6:28 pm #257727I forgot to mention, after
“as the link went to Kadence Block settings at Network admin level, but I didn’t want to activate for the whole network”
I should have added that when it was not activated at the Network level, obviously it lead to a “you do not have access to this page” WP messageIn forum: Kadence ThemeSeptember 26, 2020 at 6:12 pm #257726Hello, we use Kadence Theme Pro and recently discovered our External Affiliate product links are not working. When the button is clicked to redirect the user to the external site, the button disappears and the user remains on the site.
Here is an example page to see it in action:
*Login to see linkOn the shop category pages, the buttons that appear when you hover over the product work and redirect properly. The buttons on the single product page is the one having the issue.
Your help is much appreciated!
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: footer shortcode
Hi hannah,
Thanks! used the resubale-blocks-extended and pasted the shortcode of a block in the sitewide footer shortcode section.
Works great, but somehow only on the blog grid page and all blog post pages alle columns are squeezed to the right..Any idea why this is happening?
