Cool thanks,

The plugin developer just released an update (3.2.7) that allows the images to appear on the home page.

I still notice one thing though. The theme sizes blog preview feature images to be cropped and scaled to 270×310 (540×620 retina)
But the featured images from URL don’t size and crop similarly, so they look odd in the blog loop.
Is there a way to support the same scaling/cropping when using the Featured Image from URL plugin?

The first two sections display the posts just fine, but the third one shows the 15 posts three times; here’s the page. Any suggestions?

Hi,

We’re using Info Box blocks with icons. We built the site using Administrator role permissions. Now that we have users in the Editor role managing page content we’re running into an issue. When an admin opens a page with the Info Boxes on them, they don’t have any issues. When an Editor opens the same page, there doesn’t appear to be any issue until they update the page. After an Editor has modified a page, the icons disappear and only the circles around them are shown.

The next time either the Editor or the Admin users go into the same page, the block says it has invalid HTML and provides an option to recover it. If recovery is selected, the icons reappear. However, they disappear again if the Editor saves the page. When the Admin saves the page, the icons remain visible. This seems to be some kind of permissions/capability issue. We’ve reproduced this with WordPress 5.5 TwentyTwenty theme (no mods), the latest versions of Kadence plugins installed, and no other plugins active. We’ve also reproduced the issue in Firefox and Chrome.

Yes, everything appears to be up to date. But the Youtube links at the bottom of my home page http://www.johngrahamtours.com and on this other specific page do not appear to be working http://www.johngrahamtours.com/silkroad-artisans/

I just installed Kadence Blocks Pro and activated my license. The Pro version is supposed to be 1.4.12, but my admin dashboard is showing 1.8.12. What’s up with this?

When I first tried to activate Kadence Blocks Pro, it told me the free version of Kadence Blocks needed to be installed first, so I clicked the link to accomplish that, but it went to a white screen with nothing on it (and displayed an error message which I forget – sorry). I then refreshed the screen, wound up back at plugins, with “Kadence Blocks – Gutenberg Blocks for Page Builder Features” activated version 1.8.12.

When I view the Kadence Blocks options in edit mode, I don’t see any of the premium features. Do I even have Kadence Blocks Pro installed?

What next?

Here’s a reply from the plugin developer.

“I could reproduce the issues here. My development site also stopped when I activated the theme. But once I could remove the image dimensions, the theme didn’t try to edit the external images anymore. So the first thing is: stay away from Save Image Dimensions feature.”

“The other issue was on the home page. The theme tries to use a “full” size but there is no width and height registered for that. So the values are zero. The image is there, but not visible. To solve that I added a condition in the code: if width is zero, set a huge value as width. This is all I can do on the FIFU side.”

The first issue he’s talking about is using the plugin’s option to add image sizes to the external image. It might be useful if the theme worked with that as well.

We had an issue where “Variation Swatches for WooCommerce” broke the Product page.

We’ve been back and forth with their dev and ended up deactivating all the plugins to see which had the conflict and it was “Kadence WooCommerce Extras”.

This is how it should look (“Extras” plugin deactivated)

And this is how it breaks (“Extras” plugin activated)

Any feedback would be helpful,

I have a site that I’m redesigning for a client using Guttenberg blocks + Kadence blocks (free and paid versions). I’m using NextGEN Gallery extensively on the site. I considered switching to Kadence Galleries, but I don’t want to rebuild dozens of galleries. On any page that I have a Post Grid/Carousel I get “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.” when trying to update the page. It actually does save the page, but I get the error. I tested it on another site using a different theme and get the same error. Both sites run on the Genesis Framework. It’s not a show stopper since it does actually save, but I’d strongly prefer to not get the error message. The Portfolio Grid/Carousel does NOT give me the error. It’s just the Post Grid/Carousel.

Update. I got the page background colour back. I must have been clicking on the wrong thing when deselecting colour for the row!

I’ll mark this thread as resolved.

Thanks Ben,

I tried removing the background colour from the nested row but it turned four sides inside the box white.

I managed to fix it in the end by adding some top padding to the first column in top row.

As the preview of changes don’t really show the actual end result yet, I temporarily changed colours of the different parts on the page. It was then easier to see what changes affected what!

For some reason though my CSS to change the background colour of the page has stopped working!

Hmm, I opened your front page and it didn’t show me any errors. Then I created a new page, added a split content, saved and then left and came back and still no errors. I tried in multiple browsers.

Is there a specific page I should check?

We are displaying a carousel of similar training courses on the Carousel of training courses. The carousel is set to show the featured image and heading only, by hiding the content using: .blog-carouselcase.fredcarousel .entry-content {display:none;}

However this leaves a large space at the bottom. This is a real problem on another page where the carousel items have no image.

Is there a way for the height of the carousel items to change to take account of the content being hidden? Or could I set the height for just the “Demonstrations” area of the site?

Dear Ben,

Same problem I am getting with other server’s too. This one is Inmotion Hosting and another one is NameHero. both are class one. Other theme and plugin are working fine except few of Kadence. Unfortunately, Still, I am not able to apply any kadence product on the live project.
I do rely on minimum plugins and same author of theme & plugin for maximum compatibility.
Provided user login have Kadence theme and plugin except for WordPress security. One by one I tried off all plugins and found only Page-Transition compatibility issue.

So your login doesn’t work to edit content on the site it’s not an admin so I can’t see the post content.

Hannah was saying she can see it working on the front end.

In regard to the backed. I want to be clear, have you recover the block and saved, then tried to access the page again and it shows broken again:

Sadly this made no difference, I can still not interact with the widgets admin page.
