I’m running WordPress Version 5.4.1. All of my plugins, everything, are up-to-date. The only option available under the arrow is “highlight”. An option in the toolbar to create a hyperlink is present in a WordPress heading or paragraph, but not in an advanced heading.

Holy cow, I just tried creating an advanced heading outside of the split content box. No option to hyperlink it either. So it’s not an issue with the split content block.

The exact behavior is if I open an existing page and click on an advanced heading that is a hyperlink, I can edit it. But as soon as I made ANY change to the page … add a paragraph, change content, anything … the option to either edit a hyperlink that is an advanced heading or create a new advanced header hyperlink is gone.

This is immediately after editing the page without making any changes (not editing any text or doing anything on the page). I click on an advanced heading link and can edit it.

Hey,
1. I think I see what’s happening here, I’ll update that so your page content shows for the shop page.

2. You are adding a 300px padding on the right side of your search toggle button. Remove that padding and there will be more space for your text to be in one line. Let me know if that doesn’t make sense.

3. In your screenshot it shows you are using SG optimizing and WP Rocket, I don’t suggest using two plugins that do the same things, that is a really good way to create conflicts. My personal opinion is that you remove the sg optimizing plugin.

Good point about the price font size, looks like you’ve increased the base size to 24px so it’s making a lot of text a lot larger and having control to make some text smaller makes sense. I’ve put it on my list.

Hi Nora,
You can navigate to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog and set the “Shop page display” to “Show products”.

Hi Joanne,
Sounds like you’re wanting a transparent header? Virtue theme does not have a function for that like our other themes do. If you wanted to make the header transparent on just the homepage you can use this css:

.home.stickyheader #kad-banner {
    background: transparent;
}
.home .is-sticky header#kad-banner {
    background: #2c5d63;
}

Your home menu item is only a different color when the home page is the current page. This pulls from Theme Options > Menu Settings > Hover and Active Font Color.

OMG SUCCESS! You and Ben were both right (as usual). It turns out I had installed a third party plugin called “Remove tabs and fields from WooCommerce” because I didn’t want the description tab on my product pages but I did want custom tags… in any case, for whatever reason it defaulted to “virtual” and “downloadable” products. I then changed those settings and it looks like its working as it should be.

I hope this may help anyone else who encounters this same issue due to this plugin!

If I add an Advanced Heading block inside a Split Content block, I don’t get an option to make the heading a hyperlink. When I first create the Split Content block and add an advanced heading, I get a link option. But if I try to create a second Advanced Heading inside a Split Content block OR if I go back and edit a page and want to edit a link , I don’t have an option to add a hyperlink. See the image. I’m not sure exactly when this behavior started happening, but it worked fine the last time I needed to do this.

#3 Think there is conflict with the WP Rocket plug in. When its activated the Kadence theme customise button / link in the top admin bar disappears.

For the time being I found a work around for #1 the filter plug in short code not working .

Put it back in sidebar. Reason i moved it onto the page as a shortcode is there is a bug in Product Catalog > Action Button Style when you have 3 columns of products and a side bar.
The Select Options copy and price sit on top of one another. see attached.

Would be good if you could adjust the product price font size in Customise > Product Catalog

#1 shortcodes are fine elsewhere on the site and were fine on the shop page until the last update.

#2 You’ve not understood the problem. Look at the screengrab i sent you of the search placeholder text.
Compare it with the live site. Can’t use the place holder text i want without it creating a massive ugly search box in the header bar.

#3 not had time to test yet. will look at later.

In Theme Options > Home Layout > Homepage Layout Manager : I dragged some blocks from ENABLED to DISABLED to check the result.
But now I am unable to drag them back in the ENABLED column.

Please help as my homepage is empty now.

that error says that a core woocommerce function doesn’t exist. Had ou temporarily deactivated woocommerce?

The URL is for your admin. Is this error only happening on some admin pages or all?

When using elementor set your page to full width in the page settings rather than forcing the width full in the page content in the elementor settings because that happens really late and for some things like masonry the width is checked for the container on load.

I have it as Gallery Post default.

Hannah, When I originally created the post, I used the pre-built -layout (from library) and those 2 images were at the top of the page. I don’t know what I did wrong afterward. I am redesigning my website and trying to emulate some of the design ideas you have in kadence themes. I am trying to merge the primary menu with the hero image on the front page. I have managed to get the primary menu showing on the image, but not the logo. The logo only appears when I scroll down. Also, ‘home’ does not have the same font colour as the other menu options for some reason. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks

Hmm, I’m not sure why that css wouldn’t be working. You may need to override with !important tags. Like this:

That last snipped will affect the font color on hover. I tested it across 3 different pages on your site and it seems to be working, but let me know how it does for you!

Hi Ben,

Sorry, I got stuck in another project.

It seems as PHP 7.4 is the root of all evil here. When I run PHP 7.4, everything ajax has issues.

If you look up “Trying to access array offset on value of type bool”
you will see every other plugin seems to have this issue with PHP 7.4!

I switched back to PHP 7.3, and have another very weird issue.

I can browse everything inside admin except BPS Pro security plugin pages, then Query Monitor throws this error

Hi Hannah,

I would like advice on what I need to think about as I migrate the developmental website to its proper domain. I built this old website in Dreamweaver back in 2006: http://www.georgianchant.org but it isn’t responsive to different size devices. As you know, I’ve now built a new responsive website called http://www.develop.georgianchant.org

I would like to delete the old website, and move my new website to http://www.georgianchant.org. Then I will also delete the development website.

The old website has almost no traffic, so I am not too concerned about redirecting web search traffic to the new page, but maybe there is an easy way to do this?

The page names are different.

Is there a way to delete the old web pages from the internet, or do they stay there forever?

Exactly what do I need to do to migrate the site? Are there any concerns from the Virtue theme that I should keep in mind?
