In forum: Ascend Theme1. When I first started out, I created a PAGE called Destinations (and also add Category: Destinations). Was this wrong? Each time I add a category it creates a page?
It just depends on what you want. a category already creates an archive page you don’t need to create a second page under pages if you are going to use a category.
But it doesn’t look like you have a Destinations category right now ( I can’t find one for posts ) and it looks like you’ve made your Destinations page your “latest posts” page in your settings > reading. So all of that is fine. Just note that you can’t add content to a page you set as the settings > reading “posts page”. Which means you can just remove all the content you see in the pagebuilder on this page:https://www.adventuretravelcoach.com/destinations/
2. I don’t see a post category for “destinations”
3. That link is to a 404 page, meaning a page that doesn’t exist. You have set up your site for all 404 pages to show your “destination” page. This is confusing for the user as you have already found out. So I suggest you either turn off custom 404 pages (you can find this in your theme options > theme extensions. It’s not turn on by default so you had to have turned this on).
Or if you want a custom 404 I suggest you make a 404 page. A page that says the link you followed doesn’t exist, please search here so something like that.
4. You can certainly remove or delete tags, that is up to you. It’s not a problem to use tags.
Under Categories when I go into South-Africa the image is there but it says Sorry no results were found?
You don’t have any posts assigned to the category “South-Africa” so when it says “no results were found” it simply means nothing has been assigned to this category.

Yes this is confusing, I’m sorry for that. Things are getting better as we move into Gutenberg and I’ll have more control over how the media library is opened.Basically the controls in the media library popup you see while setting the images for the portfolio metadata don’t have an effect on how the gallery is shown. Those are settings that only apply when you are adding a gallery into the post content area. They do not apply for meta fields like the “Portfolio Image Gallery”. The Portfolio Image Gallery is only for defining which images should be saved in the meta area and in what order.
An example of this is to set your portfolio project to “slider” and then it will use the “Portfolio Image Gallery” meta to pull in which images are used in the slider.
I hope that makes some sense.
So you can’t use the project settings to create a mosaic gallery. Instead, you have to add your gallery to the post content of the page by using the add media button if you want to use the mosaic gallery option.

In forum: Virtue ThemeI have seem similar issues but the solutions for them didn’t resolve my issue – I have recently transferred my files from one server/provider to another and could use a second set of eyes to see what is causing this issue.
The above page is a good example, as one icon is working and the other two in the icon boxes next door are not. I suspect this has to do with the changes of address during migration (the site was formerly velodrome.org/jbmv). I have tried a search and replace for the jbmv and previous IP address but that didn’t solve the problem.

In forum: Ascend ThemeThe shortcode you’re adding should be working and I can’t tell for sure why it isn’t without being able to see your settings. In Theme Options > Page Settings do you have “Display page title by default” set to “On”?

I don’t know if this is a theme issue, but since last updating *Login to see link , I’m seeing a large area of white space above an embedded YouTube video on the homepage. Inspecting element, I see: div.wp-block-embed__wrapper 1140 x 1282.25. I don’t know where those dimensions are being set, as it’s a standard YouTube embed generated by adding the link in a YouTube embed block. Is that something generated within my theme? Or that I can fix with CSS?

I successfully chose the Google font ‘Great ‘Vibes on my about me page using Kadence advanced header block:

Seems like you’re close. I’m confident we can help you get things up and running as you’re wanting.I wanted to add a visual menu on my home page to my galleries.
Are you creating your galleries as portfolio posts? If so, and if you have already set featured images for all your portfolio posts, then to make them display on the homepage you just need to enable Portfolio Full in the Homepage Layout Manager from Theme Options > Home Layout. Have you done this yet?

You have a lovely theme and I really wanted to make it work. However, I can’t make heads or tails of how to get my portfolios laid out properly. Here’s a page I made about the problem, which makes it hopefuly clear to you:I had previously used the Divi Builder and got rid of it. Then tried Thrive architect. Got rid of that. I have used Site Origin, but I thought I’d get rid of that too…in favor of Guttenberg. Please advise. THANKS

A client has a problem where the page (built with SiteOrigin builder) has some styling issues since adding some additional testimonials. I have narrowed the issue down to be linked to Gutenberg as if I move any newer testimonials to a different testimonial group the page is fine.
I have now got two versions of the same page. The first displaying the original testimonial group with older testimonials and another showing a new testimonial group with just the recently added testimonials.

2 – *Login to see linkIt seems to be adding a paragraph at the beginning of each widget which is causing the buttons, heading on hero and rows to all display wrongly.
Any ideas on how to get around it?

I just realized I could make a page with the testimonial block on it and then insert that page. So I started to do that but it looks like I would have to add the testimonials manually. Is that correct? Does the block not pull from the testimonial post type?
