In reply to: Search popup box
Sure please see:
or any product page.
I feel the search box opening in the middle takes their eyes away… ideally it would appear near where they click the search icon.
2. On a mobile device it isn’t working with instant search at all.. Do you have any idea why it might not be working? please see snapshot.
3. Is there a way of removing the ajax popup search and putting a search bar in the actual top bar of Ascend?
Many thanks
AnthonyIn forum: Ascend ThemeJanuary 19, 2020 at 11:04 am #243438Hey Hannah,
I thought this was resolved (all the products and woo-commerce plugin removed) but now on google analytics report, I came upon the following:
https://www.adventuretravelcoach.com/product/pokarla-35l-foldable-durable-backpack-travel-hiking-daypack-ultra-lightweight-packable-carry-on-b
No idea where that item is to remove it?
and also I have a destination page (url is sitename-destinations) but on the google analytics it shows blog (is that correct)?
Regarding clear caches – I’ve installed WP Rocket – am I right that it automatically delete caches? Or do i have to click on it when I hover over wp rocket in the Menu-bar (where I see it is mentioned)? There is also an option under All posts – I am bit confused where exactly I need to cache it.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello!
I am trying to get shortcode icons visible in the excerpts cards on the homepage. But so far I have failed.
I am using this code, placed in the functions.php, for making shortcode icons visible in the excerpts cards on all the other pages:
add_filter(‘the_excerpt’, ‘do_shortcode’)
And that works fine!
But how do I do making shortcode icons visible in the cards on the home page, when using the blog grid template?
Thank you!
//Fredrik
Ps: image attached showing how it looks with blog grid template on all other pages. This I want on the home page
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Widget area below header
I’m reasonably certain there’s no way to do this built in to the Ascend Theme, but perhaps you can suggest a CSS tweak to make this happen. I’ve created a row that sports 4 columns. 3 display the business locations, the last the business hours. I’d like this row to display on every page so logically I’d love it to be part of the header. This way if I make an update I only have to make it once. Can I put this in the Topbar Widget Area and then use CSS to move the Topbar below the header? Just a thought, perhaps you have a better suggestion. Force the Header Widget Area onto the next line?
Here’s the site I’m working on, and thanks in advance for any guidance you might be able to provide!
In forum: Membership ForumsIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I’ve made 404 page with Kandence slider and got two questions with it1. it makes line break at the place I didn’t order and I think it happens with Korean letters, didn’t happen in English.
Could you have a look at this 404 page?2. Too small button on mobile
Thanks,

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Customizing Testimonial Display
I just found another post where Ben said the carousel is not designed to have an image included: https://www.kadencewp.com/support-forums/topic/testimonials-on-front-page/
Is there some reason for this?

You just need to set the row layout to full width stretched. That is how the first row is set up. Do you see that?
The homepage page title is created using the Kadence Slider. You can create a slider using that, then select the slider from the dropdown. Or you can select Page Title from the “Choose a Home Image Slider” dropdown and then you’ll see an option to upload an image.

Hi Sarah,
1. For the homepage you can set that from Theme Options > Home Slider. Then you can set the default page title image from Theme Options > Page Title. You also have the ability to override this for each of your pages from the Page Title and Subtitle tab in your edit pages.2. When you edit the row in page builder an open the Design tab you should see an option to edit the background color.
Hope that’s helpful!

howdy,
I imported a demo to my new site through the kadence importer. that worked perfectly well. Thank you so much for this new awesome possibility!
1.) attached a picture of the header-part, which varies from page to page.
– Where can I edit these parts of the site?
– I would like to show a video instead of the “big hero”-picture on the landing page.2. attached a picture of the landing page. I duplicated one row of the visual editor and inserted it on the end of the page. I hope you can see, that instead of the red background, the background is grey. how can I edit that?
thank you in advance
best regards

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Pricing Tables z-index query
Hi Team,
I have a Kadence Pricing Table on this page and it looks great!
However, I noticed that the second panel from the left isn’t behaving right – when you hover over it, it moves in front of the first panel, but remains “behind” the third panel – and it should move in front.
Please could you help with the correct z-index setting?
Many thanks,
Phil.In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Search popup box
That is great thanks… I have installed a similar one called: https://wordpress.org/plugins/instantsearch-for-woocommerce/
Okay so
1. Please note the ajax popup search on Ascend.. How can I make this popup close to the top of the page rather than in the middle… see snapshot
Perhaps making the box larger too. Many thanks
AnthonyIn forum: Membership ForumsJanuary 16, 2020 at 4:58 pm #243374Not forgotten 🙂 (I’ll see if I can get it pushed into tomorrows update which currently includes:
* Add: Mailchimp subscribe to Email Form.
* Add: Image size option for image overlay.
* Add: Make Translatable “no posts”.
* Add: Exclude switch to posts block term selection.
* Add: Show Unique to post block, excludes posts from showing in other blocks further down the page. And I would like to get visibility settings added as well as defaults for all pro blocks, just hasn’t made it into the priorities list to “happen now” but I’ll get it soon.
There isn’t a public roadmap, this is in part because I have to change what I think I’m going to work on a lot because of how Gutenberg Core changes so it’s hard to post roadmap because everyone wants a timeframe.
Some things I can list:
Restaurant Menu Block will probably be the next block that goes live.I’m looking at ways to create global color palette that will allow you to change dynamically later and instantly update all your pages.
Header and footer specific blocks are in the works as we get closer to full site editing.
I have a total of 10 blocks inline to add 🙂
Ben
In forum: Ascend Theme1. You can create a category page using the default page template and a product category shortcode like this:
[product_category category="apparel” orderby=”menu_order” order=”asc” columns=”3″]Then just add the shortcode into content area above this shortcode.
Or, if you’re using Kadence Blocks Pro you can use the Post Grid/Carousel block. Then you can add your shortcode into a shortcode block.2. You can enable an extras area in your header then enable a widget area as an extra (from theme options > header settings). Then from Appearance > Widgets you can add your shortcode into a text widget in your header extras area. Then you would need to use css to position it above your menu. I can help with that.
3. You can use the Google Chrome inspect tool. I can also help with that if you can link to this.

January 16, 2020 at 2:40 pm #243367The coupon you can hide by turning off coupons or through a custom function in a child theme. Note that inside Kadence Woo Extras you can change how coupons show on the checkout page which can make for a better interface.

In forum: Ascend ThemeJanuary 16, 2020 at 2:32 pm #243364Hey,
1. You can add in the category description which will show it above the products. And in the product description area. That would let you without using a child theme. If you need a widget area there you can use a plugin like this to create a widget area that you place via a shortcode: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-on-pages/However I might suggest using a plugin like this: https://www.kadencewp.com/product/kadence-woocommerce-elementor/
That will let you build out templates that can be applied to all your products and all your category pages.2. If you can post a link so I can see how you have you header setup, likly you can use the topbar widget area.
Problem with this is that any B2B clients still using non-widescreen monitors aren’t seeing that menu as is. I’m not sure how I could make it responsive for mobile either.
Can you post a link so I can understand what you are talking about there?
3. It’s really probably better if you add your styling inline, meaning in the html you add you would place the background color.
So in your text widget that could look something like this:
<div style="padding:20px;background:blue;color:white;"> This is your text </div>However, you can also target by widget id and custom css for that we need a link as the id would be generated and not something we can know without seeing the page.
I hope that helps!
Ben

January 16, 2020 at 1:40 pm #243359Hey Mike, You can filter into that with a javascript fitler and add your own content, the code for the output is just a json export of the blocks. You can create this json by making a reusable block, then using the export to json option.
Here is an example of how the code all works together.
function example_add_to_prebuilt( options ) { const blockOptions = [ { key: 'custom_template_key', name: 'Custom Template', keywords: [ 'agency', 'business' ], pro: false, pages: 1, by: 'John Doe', byLink: 'https://www.example.com/', category: [ 'agency', 'business' ], image: 'URL TO IMAGE HERE', templates: [ { key: 'home', pro: false, content: "USE OUT PUT OF RESUABLE BLOCK JSON HERE", name: 'Home', image: 'URL TO IMAGE HERE', }, ], }, ]; const newOptions = options.concat( blockOptions ); return newOptions; } wp.hooks.addFilter( 'kadence.prebuilt_templates_array', 'example/prebuilt', example_add_to_prebuilt );There are other ways as well not using the kadence tools to create a cloud based templates that you can pull in, like: https://pagebuildercloud.com/
