Hi Ben,

My blog post photos (on the actual blog posts, not the blog grid) are centred on the top of the content. Is there a way to left justify them with the content wrapping around them? This doesn’t appear as an option. Is there a quick CSS fix, as I am ok with it happening to all of them on the site.

Just add a featured image to your portfolio post, then in the grid it will show that image with the post title: https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-portfolio-page-with-virtue/

Ben, this might seem like a silly question, but I can’t find the answer anywhere in the documentation. To create a portfolio grid page with the dynamic filter like this, http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/portfolio-four-column/, where/how do you add the images? I am creating a new page, setting the template default to “portfolio grid,” then selecting “3 columns” under the column option. So once again, where or how do I add images that function with the dynamic filter? I understand how to add content, but not images that have the portfolio-like functionality.

Edit: From my understanding, the “portfolio” page pulls image/portfolios from the Portfolio posts, and depending on the category assigned to the portfolio, that is how the dynamic filter works. So, to re-state my question, how do we add images into the portfolio pages? As I showed you yesterday, I know how to use the image slider, or insert a gallery, but that does not seem to be the same as what is going on in the link/example above.

You want 5 portfolio posts on one row? or did you just want a long column of portfolio posts?

Can you post a link, I’m not sure what you mean by shop titles?

If you check the links in my menu at the top, you’ll see that the pages exist and are working. The URL is a little longer, with /posts/.

Any idea where it’s coming from? Is is a link problem or theme problem?

The breadcrumbs change based on the type of layout but if you want to customize them it can certainly be done.

I am working on the portfolio features right now, trying to get everything to work together to make it easy for two portfolio pages. I’m going to add an option for the navigation arrows to say within a parent category and have options for each post to set a different page as the “grid” page.

So that should be out today.

As for the back button forcing a reload, I’m sure that can be done, I don’t know the script but I assume if you did some research you could find a script. But I was under the impression that you wanted the back button to not force a reload, in essence show a cached page. The only way I’ve heard of this working is to use cookies. But that would be other one you would have to research out.

“Are you trying to make a grid that links to blog posts?” – Yes. It works fine with a gallery and the plugin but it would be even nicer if I could filter the grid like in a portfolio.

Not without some serious rewriting or a redirect plugin…

Are you trying to make a grid that links to blog posts? If you are just linking to a gallery page you can use the portfolio post to show a gallery.

I do not know if you included the fix in the last theme revision but i’ve installed theme virtue_premium_v1_9_9_9 and the problem is still there.
I’ve also tried to se the default post to landscape and also the post to image, but nothing changed the featured image still does not show-up in the blog grid…

I am having a surprising amount of trouble getting my portfolio working at *Login to see link I say surprising, because it worked perfectly when I tried it in my sandbox, but on my live website it has come quite unstuck.

The portfolio grid is fine and it filters exactly as expected. But when I click on the images I get error messages saying that the posts do not exist. Initially I was getting a couple of them linking to old blog posts with the same slug as the new post, so I edited those slugs – but still cannot see the portfolio items. And a number of the portfolio posts are completely new so that cannot be the whole story.

I’ve been over the instructions several times and cannot see what I have missed. Can you help?

Hmm ok I see, I need to update how that works on the grid page. If you set the post to landscape image it will work, the default isn’t being updated on the grid page. I’ll update today.

yes set post summary of the blog post to “site default” (blog post summary default set to: Landscape image) and added one featured image to the post… but no picture shown.. the picture of the post shows only in the “blog” page not in the “blog grid” page…
