December 4, 2015 at 3:46 pm #69911Ok so based on what your saying I still think you are better off using blog posts. I think I have a way you could do this through the blog grid that would work, I’ll update and then send you the css.

We’re using the Virtue Premium theme and are very happy with it. I’m just wondering if we could get the blog posts to display like the portfolio grid, since we’ll be reblogging hundreds (eventually thousands) of items — with showcase images and brief text — for each post/portfolio-post. So we need to help our users browse quickly and efficiently, without the masonry look of the blog grid. Rows that are even really help in that regard. Also, tagging would really help here, instead of offering 20-50 categories. So that’s our issue.

December 4, 2015 at 1:50 pm #69890Magnus,
by adding tags that wouldn’t (couldn’t) add them to the portfolio type filter that is on the portfolio grid page. If you would like to add more to that filter you would need to do it through types. you can assign more then one type to a post.
Also note that a portfolio type filter will only every filter was is visible on the page. If your posts double and you start using pagination then the filter wouldn’t work and you would need to use a menu system that linked to type pages.Michelle,
Pinnacle has a photo grid layout for blog posts. see here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle-premium/blog-photo-grid/Ben

We’ve run into this same problem, too.
The key issue for us is that the portfolio grid looks/works better (for our content) than the blog grid.
– Could we get the clean, portfolio grid look with regular post types?
– Or, add regular post functionality (i.e., tags) to portfolio’s custom post type?Any help would be much appreciated!!!! Adding code to template files or functions.php is not too difficult, but coding it out is beyond us.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Blog posts grid landscape thumbnail
I’m doing a home page with a newspaper like layout using PageBuilder. By now I’m using the short code [blog_posts], but it shows the item in the grid with the thumbnail on the left and the excerpt on the right. I’d like to have the full width thumbnail on top (in landscape mode) and the text under the thumbnail without date or, if it could be easier, without the whole meta informations.

Hey,
No problem for the categories. I just assign images to them.
“You can add in the home page content or in the home page widget area through a text widget.” –> But I don’t see where to add the shortcode ? I looked in the Theme Options Admin Page. There in the “Home Page” I can see (the last item) “Content Home Page Options” (or something like that / it is a translation for me) but there is no mean to add a shortcode ; it seems that this item is for posts ! I can’t no more see the home page widget area. Is it in a sidebar ? I have chosen not to use a sidebar. And anyway I want to create a grid of products category in the center of the main page.
“If your wanting to find the link just got to products > categories in your admin and click view. Then copy the url in your browser.”–> If I go in the category page and click on a specific category I can’t see any url link ! What do I do with this link then ?
Sorry I just begin and some (many !) points are not so clear for me still 🙁
Thank you very much for your help…and patience.
Gerard

November 30, 2015 at 4:52 pm #69091Hey,
1. The shortcode is shown on the link I posted so I thought you would have seen it: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/product-categories-grid-2/[product_categories number="12" parent="0" columns="3"]You can add in the home page content or in the home page widget area through a text widget.
2. Category pages are built once you add categories in your woocommerce product options.
See here for example: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/product-category/apparel/
You just need to add a categories and assign images for those categories.
If your wanting to find the link just got to products > categories in your admin and click view. Then copy the url in your browser.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeNovember 30, 2015 at 2:36 pm #69072Hey. The loop widget doesn’t run through all of what the theme would. We have shortcodes if you want to add a grid of posts.
Whats not running with the widget your using is the animate in code. Which you can also turn off animate in through the theme options > misc settings.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeThe content-fullpost template is working within the pagebuilder post loop widget. But on the homepage I want to display only the post grid with 3-6 post excerps. My problem is, that the page seems to be generated the right way, but visualy i have an empty section with my blog grid. But when I move the mouse over this section and have a look into the code, everything seems to be there. Even the links to the posts work.
Neither the image nore the text are displayed. Is this an error within the theme? Or is it an error of pagebuilder?

November 27, 2015 at 5:08 pm #68737Hey,
You can use a shortcode to show the grid then add your content. This way you don’t use the grid template.[staff_posts columns="3" items="10"]Ben

November 27, 2015 at 12:37 pm #68695ok, in your settings > reading. Set the front page to be the posts page.
Then in your theme options > home layout. Move “latest posts” to disabled. And move “page content” to enabled.
Scroll down to the bottom of the theme options > home layout and set your latest posts style to grid with three columns.

How to set blog photo grid on home page for latest blog posts?
*Login to see linkIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Portfolio issues
Hi,
I ran into a couple things regarding the portfolio posts.
1) On the main portfolio page (www.starlmodels.com/en/models) all portfolio items are displayed by reversed alphabetical order. Is there a way to show the items in regular alphabetical order?
2) In some portfolio posts there are images that can not be displayed for a reason yet unclear to me. I’m only experiencing this issue when setting the ‘project options’ to ‘image carousel’. When I set the images to be displayed as grid for instance they are all working just fine. See for example the portfolio posts ‘Chantal’ (*Login to see link and ‘Angela’ (*Login to see link
3) On portfolio posts that have the ‘image carousel’: when I resize the browser window to 800px of less, the carousel only shows one picture. I don’t mind that per se, but when I resize the browser back to a larger size the carousel keeps showing one picture. I would expect it to return to the original carousel view that shows multiple images.
URL is http://www.starlmodels.com. Front end password of the site is ‘model101’

first of all, thank you very much for your attention and help, it was always very usefulnow i realised i have a little problem
i want to hide the titles of the posts in the header, wich i got using this css code:
.single-article .post header {display: none;}
but then the title is also deleted in the “carousel” of similar posts 🙁
do you know how can i get to delete the post titles in all posts headers but display them in the carousels of similar posts?
(now they are displayed in the search results grids, and also in the category grids, wich i want to keep this way)maybe you can see what i mean in this link:
thank you very much
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Image sizes for post summary
November 20, 2015 at 12:58 pm #67736Hey,
Are you using a blog grid or a list? Can you post a link?
If your using a list you can set the slider/image sizes right in each post. Those just need to be set smaller then the image you are using. It will not work if you set those to a size larger then your image.
