In reply to: Mobile Layout Support
September 25, 2015 at 9:19 am #60122Hey,
1. 4 products in a row on a cell phone? You can do this with css but I really don’t recommend it. You would have words trying to exit the product columns.
The whole point of a responsive theme is to remove the need to zoom in and out on a mobile device while looking at a website. Everything moves to scrolling for easier viewing and better support. (not to mention google ranking). If you post a link to your site I can show you the css but I caution you that it’s not the point of the theme.2. You can add a grid of featured or bestselling using the woocommerce shortcode. Doesn’t have to be in a carousel just note you can’t switch between the two on mobile or desktop: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/
3. I really don’t recommend “Any Mobile Theme Switcher”, I’ve had little experience with it but it’s never been good. I also don’t recommend a layout that is too large for mobile so my recommendations aside you can do this how you want but just consider that if you have to zoom on a mobile browser at all, google ranks you lower and through studies you are less likely to receive return traffic on mobile devices.
So based on what your saying and your dislike for responsive layout I think your best option is a mobile domain and site where you can set up the content how you want separate from desktop.

September 23, 2015 at 9:10 am #59770Hey,
1. In the grid the date is wrapped in a tooltip showing an icon. You would have to edit with a child theme to change that output.2. If you just want the excerpt it’s this:
.postlist .postcontent .entry-content { background:white;}If you want the title and everything else it’s this:
.postlist article { background:white;}3. Changing the language file is the right place you just have to make sure you change the po and creating the mo. WordPress uses the mo file for the actual translation. Poedit program can help with that. You also may want to consider using a child theme to hold the change in translation so you don’t loose the edit when you update the theme.
https://www.kadencewp.com/child-themes/
Then you would add
load_child_theme_textdomain( 'virtue', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/languages' );
and put your translation in a languages folder in your child theme.Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Blog grid columns adjustment
Hi again,
I just noticed on my blog grid pages – which are usually 2 column + sidebar – that the blog items will all move to only the left column at a certain width, leaving the middle column blank. I haven’t modified this part of the site in a while so I am wondering if it was something in the recent update that caused it. I’ve looked through the theme options and didn’t see anything that seemed to be off.

Hi Ben
Thank you so much.
Been playing with this and finally found a way to change the backgroundcolor on each post with blog_grid.
I have 3 questions:
1) The date looks like a symbol instead of the date, how to change that? see: http://atax.dk
2) What is the CSS tag to change the backgroundcolor on each post excerpt on the blog feed page: http://atax.dk/nyheder/
3) For each post you can link to the next /previous and next i bottom corners), in danish it’s called indlæg, but I would like it to say nyhed (news) see: http://atax.dk/nu-kan-du-bruge-ataxs-feriekortordning/ I’ve change the danish po file on line 3619-3625, is this the right place? would it be better to use a funktion?Hope you can help me 🙂

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHey Greg,
It depends on how you’re adding your content. Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Custom CSS:.panel-grid-cell .widget-title:after { display: none; } .panel-grid-cell .widget-title { margin-bottom: 20px; }If that doesn’t work please post a link to your site.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Portfolio Hierarchy
Hi,
I’ve looked through the forums and saw some people facing this portfolio-type issue, but not finding the exact same problem and solution for what I’m facing. Right now I’ve created a main PORTFOLIO page, and also subpages (eg. Photography, Interface Design) that I would only want to display projects only with that particular tag. So what I did was, I created a Photography Page, choose PORTFOLIO for the Parent, and Portfolio Grid for the Template.
So the breadcrumb for the Photography page should look like:
Home > PORTFOLIO > Photography (*Login to see link
But for some reason when I update the page and view it, it doesnt exists! You can click on the link to take a look.It only works if I select (no parent) for the page, which ends up looking like:
Home > Interface Design (*Login to see link
So I’m really perplexed as to why this is the case. Using Interface Design as another portfolio type to show the difference. So I tried figuring it out from the bottom up, from a portfolio photography project called 7 Treasures Old Town, so it looks like:
Home > PORTFOLIO > Photography > 7 Treasures Old Town (*Login to see link
So I noticed that the ‘Photography’ tag is missing in the URL. And if I click on ‘Photography’ in the breadcrumb, it leads me to the portfolio-type page (*Login to see link I’m actually okay with the portfolio-type URL, just that, there’s no way for me to change the way the grid looks, in the ‘Edit Type’ backend page, I was hoping to change it like how I can do it in the Portfolio Grid template page (I want it to have the Post Box Style). So yea…I’m really confused and lost. I just need a solution to either one of the issues, but both would be great as well. Thank you so much in advance! Hope you’ll understand what I’m trying to say (:

September 19, 2015 at 6:08 am #59183hey ben, yes, exactly that. It is very strange, before adding an image AFTER the more tag, size of blog archive page is around 600kb. When an image is added AFTER the more tag to the single post, the blog archive page is around 720kb. No added requests thogh and the added image is not in the HTML. I think these speed measuring sites are not accurate, because I checked GTmetrix and Pingdom also and they don’t show an increase in kb. Who knows.
ACtually I have a question rearding the grid style blog layout: You can choose how many columns you want, but is it possible to make it like this:
http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/ where the hight of the row is always the same but the width is different for each post? Thanks!

September 16, 2015 at 12:55 pm #58791Ok the grid is not just going to link to a custom page unless you set it to.
In your post you can manually set the grid link to be to a page. Just do that for each post in one language and set the default page you want to link to for the other language.

September 16, 2015 at 11:39 am #58756Hey,
In your portfolio grid template you can set the portfolio page options. The first option is “style” choose “post boxes”You can also set the default in your theme options > portfolio options.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Problems with lightbox link and lightbox
Hi Stefanie,
Sorry for the delay!
The theme doesn’t have a “Add Lightbox link in the top right of each item” button. Are you using a plugin to add this feature? If so, which one? Portfolio posts are meant to link to themselves. Is there a reason you’re using the portfolio grid over the gallery grid?Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Improve Author Archive Page
Excellent, thank you for your help–all of each author’s posts now appear in a very nice grid. This brings up another question: “What might I do to ensure that the featured image for each post appearing in the post grid is displayed?” Again, the archive page in referenced in my original question also includes what I expect are featured images.
Thank you!
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I have set up my portfolio page with some portfolio post.
On my portfilo project “test” I have three images and I want them to be displayed in three columns, but they are dispayes like there are four columns in the grid.
In Portfolio options, in Portfolio Category Pages I have three columns in “Choose how many portfolio columns to show on portfolio catagory pages”.
I can’t figure out what is the problem? This happens also in other portfolio post, as well.
I will leave you the link in the next post, thanks GabiIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Improve Author Archive Page
The “Author Archive” page on my Virtue-driven site is pretty basic: all it includes is the author’s name and a simple text list of articles by that author. I’d like to switch it up so that it shows essentially a grid of that author’s posts, including a featured image, post excerpt and so on. You all do it on the Kadence site–see *Login to see link I’m wondering how I might do it on mine. Any help very much appreciated.

September 10, 2015 at 1:40 pm #57959Hey,
You can use a shortcode in your home page widget area[blog_grid orderby=date items=6 columns=3]Or you can set the home page to be your “post page” in the settings > reading. Then in your theme options > home layout. enabled “page content” and not “latest posts”
Then at the bottom of your theme options > home layout set the blog style to grid with three columns.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Multiple videos in one portfolio
September 8, 2015 at 11:30 am #57662Hey,
You can add more then one video into your post content and show it as a grid by using pagebuilder.Just make sure the layout is set to three rows and that you have the portfolio options set to none. Then add your columns in pagebuilder and your videos using the “visual editor” widget and the “virtue shortcodes” button.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I am trying to put more than one video in my portfolio category ‘timelapses’. But the problem is that in the portfolio post options you can only enter ONE url! How can I change it that I can put multiple url in my portfolio?
I alreadyt tried another way to put multiple videos in one portfolio, but just by embedding it in the textbox. I can embed multiple videos’s, but then the problem is that I cannot show them as a grid… They only appear under each other.
What I want is that multiple video’s show in a grid. 2 video’s in every row. How can I achieve this?
