    One options is to place your normal logo in as the logo, then add the home page logo as your retina logo.
    Once thats done post a link and we can give you the css to make it work like your wanting.

    Hey,
    You could try and edit the featured image output but I think it’s going to be much more tricky then then a hook in functions. You will need to override templates.
    The output for each featured image is sized based on where the image is being shown. It’s always going to call the standard wordpress functions. The real issue is wordpress was never designed for featured images to be set without attachment ids.

    You can test with another theme and woocommerce. Sure twenty twelve outputs there featured posts images in a certain way that would work with your plugin but woocommerce like many other themes/plguins uses the id. it’s not going to work even with a basic theme like twenty twelve.

    In terms of getting the images to work, where are you showing post featured images? on the blog page? which format?

    Sorry if i am posting this twice, as I can’t find my original post.

    I am trying to add a popup image or something like this to my global Woocommerce add ons. I have a text link and it opens when clicked to a new page, but I would really like to have it open in a pop up or something that won’t take the customer off the page. I have tried pop up plugins, but the short codes won’t work in the global add-ons area. If there is a better way to accomplish this, I am open to any suggestions. Thanks!

    Hi Hannah,

    1. Thanks! (This is important for me to create the proper slider-images)

    2. Works like a charm! Now the menu changes from full size to small size to mobile.

    3. I found the option, totally overlooked it. Small tip for other people: the change of text doesn’t show until you place an item in the cart, which makes the text of the cart update as well. CTRL-F5 does not do the trick here. (I almost posted a negative reply to this solution…)

    Hi Ben,

    So I decided to try adding external feature image link to another website, which I’ve updated with the lasted Virtue 3.4.7 Theme & updated the Woocommerce files. I then tried using 3 different plugins for adding external image links and none of them work. In fact, none of the images are displayed using any of the External Image Link Plugins I created just a regular Page, and it’s not working either.

    I’m wondering if there is a line of code I can add to the functions file of the theme? Or what do you suggest since it’s not just Woocommerce product pages, but regular pages & posts as well are not working?

    Having this capability is going to save me a lot of time with my websites.

    You can see example of image not showing at all:

    Thank you,

    Hello!

    I believe that this is something that can be accomplished with CSS.

    If you post a link to your site, I’ll give an attempt to write the required code.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Again apologies Ben, I will drop plugin queries.

    The developer suggestion is appreciated, but want to have full control of the site and the overhead is not currently planned for. Perhaps moving this across mobile and tablet devices will require a developer – still I’ll be honest the cost and loss of control is a constant worry.

    On a brighter note, this is looking great! Can we…

    1. Make the spacing even across all pages between all elements for the whole journey (pre and post selection of variations) – by all pages I mean like the examples below:
    http://olsonbaker.com/product/bubble/
    http://olsonbaker.com/product/tween-start-chest-of-drawers-woocommerce-swatches/
    http://olsonbaker.com/product/boule/
    http://olsonbaker.com/product/pomelo-pendant-light/
    Looking to make a gap of 30px between all elements.

    2.My colleague actually did this a while ago and he can’t remember, he said possibly in the woocommerce booster. Is there a better way to do this to make it the same across all pages within the theme? As I have noticed the place holder is different too between the pages below…
    http://olsonbaker.com/product/bubble/
    http://olsonbaker.com/product/tween-start-chest-of-drawers-woocommerce-swatches/

    3. I would really love to get this ‘Lead Time: Made for you in just eight weeks’ custom field below the ‘Save for later +’ button, is there anyway this can be done? Willing to explore all options here.

    Hello,
    Phillip

    The CSS you posted should be working. Would it be possible for you to post a link to your site so I can take a look at it?

    #80822

    On my desktop, I am using Chrome and it is just fine. On both the iphone and ipad, I checked both chrome and safari and am having problems. If you look on the desktop, you see an image of a river cruise. then the call to action. then a carousel of featured posts. then my latest blog posts. That’s what it should look like.

    On my iphone, you see an image of Nuremberg which is from on of my blog posts but shouldn’t be in that position. Then nothing. On my Ipad, you see the river cruise image, but the featured posts carousel isn’t showing up. Also, the blog post that posted this morning isn’t there.

    before, the Ipad, Iphone, and desktop all rpetty much looked the same

    Hey Astrid,
    This is definitely something we can add to the list! As for now, you can do this with some basic css. If you post a link to the pages you want this to apply to I would be happy to help with that.

    #80811

    Hey,
    Do you have the page builder plugin installed and activated on your site? If so, go to Settings > Page Builder > General and make sure Pages is selected beside Post Types.
    Hope that helps!

    I found earlier that Virtue theme is not compatible with the WordPress plugin CiviCRM. Today I found that Kadence slider is not compatible with some of the CiviCRM administration forms — makes some controls disappear. I am just posting this for informational purposes… I do not expect a solution. We just removed the slider plugin, and used a different theme. The theme is good for my other sites that don’t use CiviCRM.

    Hey,
    I’m not sure what you mean about complicated. How are you translating your other widgets?

    Yes there is a shortcode for testimonials. [testimonial_posts columns="3" items="10"]

    What way is that for other widget?

    Can you remind me what your talking about with images?

    Ben

    #80766

    Hey! In Theme Options> Home Layout, look at your Homepage Layout Manager.

    The order in which you place the enabled page items determines where your posts will show up in relation to all the other items.

    If you want your posts to show up on top, then be sure that “page content” is placed at the top of the enabled column.

    Hope that helps!,

    Hi,

    on my Homepage I only want to display the blog post excerpt without the “read more” (mehr…) tag and without the hyperlink in the headline.
    Is this possible with css or do i need to edit the template?

    Thanks,

    Hi I would like to build a page where there is a normal blogsection in top and the the widgets I choose. I made a new page and set the template to blog but like this the blogpost are under the widgets. How can I change that?

    #80738

    Hey,
    Filter isn’t an option, they don’t really work like your suggesting. If something is set up to be filterable then wordpress functions can be used to filter is but every html part isn’t filterable.

    You would have to create your very own shortcode, then you could control all of the html output.

    For example you would create the whole shortcode:

    //Shortcode for Blog Posts
    function custom_blog_shortcode_function( $atts, $content) {
    	extract(shortcode_atts(array(
    		'orderby' => '',
    		'order' => '',
    		'speed' =>'',
    		'height' =>'',
    		'width' =>'',
    		'offset' =>null,
    		'cat' => '',
    		'columns'=> 'two',
    		'word_count' => '',
    		'items' => ''
    ), $atts));
    	if(empty($orderby)) {$orderby = 'date';}
    	if(!empty($order) ) {
    		$order = $order;
    	} else if($orderby == 'menu_order' || $orderby == "title") {
    		$order = 'ASC';
    	} else {
    		$order = 'DESC';
    	}
    	if(empty($items)) {$items = '4';}
    	if(empty($word_count)) {$word_count = '36';}
    	if(empty($cat)) {$cat = '';}

    ob_start();

    				 if($columns == "one") {
                    	$img_width = 360;
                    	$postwidthclass = 'col-md-12 col-sm-12';

                        </article>
                    </div>
                        <?php endwhile; else: ?>
    						<li class="error-not-found"><?php _e('Sorry, no blog entries found.', 'virtue');?></li>
    					<?php endif; ?>
    				<?php $wp_query = null; wp_reset_query(); ?>

    	</div>
    </div> <!--home-blog -->

    	<?php  $output = ob_get_contents();
    		ob_end_clean();
    	return $output;
    }

    Then hook that into wordpress with your custom shortcode hook

    function my_extra_shortcodes(){
       add_shortcode('custom_blog_posts', 'custom_blog_shortcode_function');
    }
    add_action( 'init', 'my_extra_shortcodes');

    and then you would be able to use the new shortcode:

    [custom_blog_posts items="2" cat="wissenswertes" orderby="date"]
