In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Staff pages?
Hey Christine,
Staff posts/page work the same way portfolio posts/page works. You need to create staff posts. You can do this by navigating to Staff from the admin panel. Then after that go to Pages and create a page and select the Staff Grid page template. Then the featured images from the staff posts will automatically get pulled to that page. Does that make sense?Hannah

December 5, 2015 at 7:21 pm #700001. The theme doesn’t add social icons. That is one of your plugins.
2. The theme doesn’t change anything in terms of comment display for posts. Did you edit that single post and turn it off?

December 4, 2015 at 9:14 pm #69948Yes, it’s about the slider in my post on home page at left of the text. I’d like 2 seconds. Thank you.

December 4, 2015 at 9:10 pm #69947Thank you Ben!
Two more questions:
1. I noticed ugly social buttons on the bottom of all posts and pages. Did you made changes recently? How I can disable it?
2. On my posts comments are shown now. I disabled comments under discussion. Did you built it in? How I can disable it?

Thank you!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Font size for submenu > Center logo
Hi Ben…
Oops… I think we are talking about two different things. I mentioned submenu in the title of this post, but not in the question. I’m good on the primary menu, iths the drop menu font size I want to change. The site is http://www.shuswaphomeopathy.ca. You can view it by logging in (link at the bottom of the page):

December 4, 2015 at 5:52 pm #69941Hey,
you should be able to set the size based on your Theme options > menu settings. Primary menu options.
If not can you post a link?Ben

December 4, 2015 at 4:39 pm #69928Hey,
You can’t create a custom excerpt filter that removes items unless you want to do a lot of coding. Here is what I suggest: Create your own excerpt if your not happy with the way wordpress builds an excerpt from the first part of your post.
Go into the post edit page, click on the “screen options” in the top right corner. Then make sure excerpt is checked.
There you can add your own custom excerpt with only what you want.
Hope that helps,
Ben

If this is a help to you, here’s a link to one of my sites where I’m using the portfolio, which looks great, but I’d rather use blog posts for it if possible: http://freeprintablesdaily.com/

December 4, 2015 at 3:46 pm #69911Ok so based on what your saying I still think you are better off using blog posts. I think I have a way you could do this through the blog grid that would work, I’ll update and then send you the css.

December 4, 2015 at 3:42 pm #69908Hey,
You can’t because when you add a background image a background doesn’t define a height. Where as when you use a slider it’s setting the height based on the images because those images are added as an image not as a background.See here what I mean about background sizing: https://www.kadencewp.com/background-image-sizing/
The most you can do is set the padding around your page titles based on the screen size using media queries like this.
@media (max-width: 992px){ .single-post .page-header { padding-bottom: 100px !important; padding-top: 100px !important; } }Ben

We’re using the Virtue Premium theme and are very happy with it. I’m just wondering if we could get the blog posts to display like the portfolio grid, since we’ll be reblogging hundreds (eventually thousands) of items — with showcase images and brief text — for each post/portfolio-post. So we need to help our users browse quickly and efficiently, without the masonry look of the blog grid. Rows that are even really help in that regard. Also, tagging would really help here, instead of offering 20-50 categories. So that’s our issue.

December 4, 2015 at 1:50 pm #69890Magnus,
by adding tags that wouldn’t (couldn’t) add them to the portfolio type filter that is on the portfolio grid page. If you would like to add more to that filter you would need to do it through types. you can assign more then one type to a post.
Also note that a portfolio type filter will only every filter was is visible on the page. If your posts double and you start using pagination then the filter wouldn’t work and you would need to use a menu system that linked to type pages.Michelle,
Pinnacle has a photo grid layout for blog posts. see here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle-premium/blog-photo-grid/Ben
