January 9, 2019 at 10:45 am #212730Hey,
Using the portfolio grid template will remove hte sidebar. If you want a sidebar with portfolio grid then you would need to use the normal page template and add the portfolio shortcode:[portfolio_posts columns="2" items="10"]For example.
Please note that you are using the free theme on that site and the free theme doesn’t have portfolio posts shortcodes so you will need to activate the premium version.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Schema.org Structured Data Really Needs Work
Yes, implementing in the head via theme is very much your call and if it cannot be done cleanly best to avoid.
I’ve tested many plugins and very few pass my test. This one is well maintained and continually updated based on Google guidelines:
Markup (JSON-LD) structured in schema.org
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-structuring-markup/It has an on/off switch for various types that can be applied to a website. But the output code is clean and validates in the Google testing tool.

January 9, 2019 at 10:14 am #212719The issue wasn’t with the slider, the errors weren’t related to the slider they were related to other javascirpt on your site, once you crash javacript though there isn’t much that can be done to fix it.
I don’t suggest using defer on jquery but if you want to troubleshoot this further you have to see what other plugins are using it also the plugin that was adding it was breaking the syntax so you may have just needed to reload it or clear it.

I’m only aware of the page builder method of adding widgets to the block editor. No, you should be able to use page builder within the block editor with the site origin layout widget.
If you have the plugin activated on your site, the layout block should be selectable when editing your page with the blocks editor. If you’re not finding it I can set it up for you if you want to post a login in a private reply.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Adding widgets within Gutenberg?
January 9, 2019 at 9:30 am #212704I’ve used Site Origin tools previously – but since Site Origin content is block-oriented, I was wondering if there is (or will soon be) a way of adding Kadence widgets with “standard” Gutenberg + Kadence tools.
Is it the case that a page needs to be either all Gutenberg friendly blocks or completely within the Site Origin framework? I can’t see a way to add a “Site Origin Layout” block within a page created with Gutenberg blocks. In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: header menu background colour lost on last update
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Adding widgets within Gutenberg?
Hello,
One way to use widgets within the block editor is to install site origin page builder:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/Then you can add a “Site Origin Layout” block to your content. This will allow you to select from the theme included widgets and add them to the block editor.
Does that work for you?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Schema.org Structured Data Really Needs Work
Hey Ben – if you want I can help you implement this on the next round. I run the website https://www.skeema.pro which is a dedicated outsourcing/consulting team for implementing schema.org and structured data.
I do not recommend using plugins for schema.org as they often remain outdated and can cause conflicts. If you are doing it within the theme, that is OK but it also needs to remain in compliance for best results. Neither is the “best” solution but most people will not have *any* solution so it’s good to offer something. Another idea is simply an on/off switch if people do not want the code applied.
On the image – I realized the page I tested was one of few that was missing a featured image, so when adding one it was fixed.
Either way, let me know if you want some backup on this one. It’s not an easy subject by any means. I keep up with it daily though to provide a good service. Happy to help.

Hi Hannah,
unfortunately it is not applying but this suddenly becomes less important.
The site owner (institution) says that the second menu is not aligned left. They have on all computers W8.1/IE11. I tried to reproduce this on my old laptop also on 8.1/IE11 but this site crashes the browser (while other sites, also on Ascend, don’t). Can you maybe test this and help correct?
Thank you

Hey JR,
You can read about and download a child theme from here: https://www.kadencewp.com/child-themes/
You can easily hide the product short description from specific products using css. Or you can use a plugin to completely customize your product pages. We have two plugin options for this, depending on your page builder preference.
Elementor: https://wordpress.org/plugins/kadence-woocommerce-elementor/
Page Builder by Siteorigin: https://www.kadencewp.com/product/kadence-woo-template-builder/
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Ascend ThemeHey,
Currently, my page anchors work as expected – however, the section I’m looking to scroll to gets slightly covered up because I’m also using a fixed header.
What I’d like to achieve with a little CSS snippet is basically something that says “scroll to the anchor, minus 60px”
I’ve had a search on Google around for answers and found others with the same issue – but translating any code into something that works for me is another story entirely 😛
I’ll reply to this thread with the site details if you’re able to take a peek.
Many thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi Team,
I have added the plugin iCal Availaibility to diplay a calendar on this Accommodation site.
When the calendar is displayed, the “month” dropdown is empty, it only shows a month if you select the < or > arrows.
If I switch to 2019 theme, the box is populated correctly. Is Virtue theme somehow preventing the “month” dropdown from being populated?
Is there a way to stop this? Many thanks,
Phil.In forum: Ascend ThemeJanuary 8, 2019 at 7:15 pm #212645I have been using Grid with first past standard and three Post Columns for my Home Page Layout on my site *Login to see link since I started using the them over a year ago. However after updating the theme only the first post shows and then it does not how any more posts its all black except at the bottom of the page where you can navigate to older posts.
I have had to change this to Standard for now so that at least the post show on the site. Something in the latest update appears to have broken this functionality.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Custom Buy Button Design
Okay, thank you, I will try it now. Can I ask you another thing, you know how you can change the Page Layout to eliminate the header and sidebar? Is there a way to do the same with product pages? So all I would want is just the product elements I add, without any other site elements?
