    Hi Aaron,

    I see that you directly added the Navigation 2 widget to the conditional header’s main section.

    The Trigger widget only opens the off-canvas area of the mobile header. You can use the same trigger for the conditional header and just add the Navigation 2 widget in the off-canvas area instead of the header’s main section.

    Here’s a screen recording for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/RBuz5gzm

    I hope this helps. If I misunderstood what you’re trying to do or if what I have shown is still not working for you, please let us know, and we’ll be more than happy to help.

    Best regards,
    Teejay.

    Hello Kadence Team,

    I’m currently working on my single post template and I’ve come across a challenge. Unfortunately, Kadence doesn’t provide a native option to include images for taxonomies. To address this limitation, I’ve installed a third-party plugin that enables me to associate images with taxonomies. While I’ve successfully added the images, I’m encountering an issue with the Dynamic List widget, which isn’t displaying these images in the template. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Could you please guide me on how to achieve this?

    Thank you for your support.

    Hello everyone,

    this is my first time setting up a homepage with Kadence (or anything, for that matter). I’m happy with the result except for one problem.

    I’m trying to include a widget into a page (not header or footer) from an external website. To display the widget, I have to enter HTML head and body code.

    This I did using the custom HTML block. Now the widget is displayed correctly in the preview, but not showing when I look at the page.

    Also, everything that is below the widget on the draft is also no longer showing.

    Is there something I need to do differently?

    Thank you very much!

    #285234

    Hey Daniel,

    If you have Kadence Pro plugin, you can create a hooked element, so you can use blocks to design it and paste the element’s shortcode to the header HTML widget – here’s a video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/p9uZ0o8B

    If you only have the free Kadence theme, you need to code it like this – https://share.getcloudapp.com/KouEg8YO

    Here’s a sample code:

    <span style="color: blue">Free consultation call</span>
    <br>
    <a href="tel:555-555-5555" style="color:yellow">555-555-5555</a>
    <br>
    <span style="color: blue">Example here:</span>
    <br>
    <a href="mailto:elevate-aa.justia.design" style="color:yellow">elevate-aa.justia.design</a>

    Hope this helps, and let us know how we can assist further.

    Hannah,

    I can understand the decision to wait before making changes to the social widget based on that specific example. However, my initial question also mentioned the lack of other established social networks not listed. Your answer led me to believe that the three themes were being deprecated.

    So first I will answer your question, which leads me to another question…I am using Virtue…but, if the other three are being deprecated, should I be using Kadence? I don’t mind paying for a theme if it is going to be kept up to date. But if it’s really not supported anymore, I need to know before I put anymore effort into the site.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi!

    [carousel under the header]
    You can target the tab and make it look active by using custom CSS code. You can use the body tag’s CSS class so you can target which page a specific tab should look active – https://share.getcloudapp.com/KouEP5xL

    [On my product detail page: I have cross/upsell products, but can I turn it into a carousel, so I can show more items?]
    Those are set by you or any admin who can edit WooCommerce products. Please refer to this post for related products -https://woocommerce.com/document/related-products-up-sells-and-cross-sells/.

    [filter for my shop page]
    This is a widget item from the WooCommerce plugin. The prices that will be shown should be the min and maximum prices of the products listed on the archive page.

    To check the colors better, it would be great if we could see your page.

    [My woocommerce products image gallery are square, can I change the aspect ratio to a rectangle?]
    This should follow the thumbnail cropping from your Customizer > WooCommerce > Product Images settings. Could you try setting a custom aspect ratio here (https://share.getcloudapp.com/12ukWmeQ)?

    Let us know if we can help you further.

    Hannah, thanks for your reply. I guess I didn’t think of it as adding a new feature, but updating an out of date feature. I will look at the built-in social links. I was just trying to keep the site looking consistent, which is why I purchased the Kadence theme and kept my subscription going. Hopefully the WordPress ones will blend in with my theme.

    P.S. – I just checked and I can’t use the WordPress social links, because they’re not listed in the widgets. =(

    Hi Chris,
    From my understanding our classic themes such as Virtue will continue to be supported, though I don’t foresee new features or adds. I suggest using a social widget plugin or else the WordPress Social Icons Block.

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    I’m just checking to see if there will be any updates to the Virtue Social Links Widget. Currently, Twitter has renamed itself to X, but the widget doesn’t reflect this. At the same time, many people are abandoning Twitter / X for other alternatives, such as Threads or Mastodon. I think there may be a few more. Will these be added to the widget? Thanks!

    #285016

    Hi Grace,

    If you are a Kadence Pro user, you can easily add a Search bar widget to your website by dragging and dropping it next to the main header menu. For mobile devices, it can be placed under the off-canvas area.

    Check the screenshot for the desktop:https://share.getcloudapp.com/9ZuypNwv

    Hello Archita
    I hope you are doing good today 🙂
    Thank you for your response, it helped me so many steps forward. I still need some help with the points below. The other ones are fine now, awesome thank you.

    [carousel under the header]
    Awesome. I think I am almost there!
    There are 2 things I still can’t get to behave as I need.
    A. I doesn’t go the full width of the content or page
    B. If you see the example I sent earlier, the carousel items are links to various pages. I was also able to put links into it, however, in the original one, you can see that the select page has a border on the bottom of that carousel item. So the user knows on which layout he’s one. How can I achieve the same?

    [How can I change this image in the title bar]
    FYI This didn’t seem to change it for me. After some more digging after your suggestion, I found it under Woocommerce > product catalog > Design. Thank for the tip and pointing me in the right direction

    [filter for my shop page]
    Awesome this worked. I used the Catalog Off Canvas Widget. However, I am noticing an issue here, the max price isn’t fully visible. Is this a bug? see screenshot
    SCR-20230811-ij

    [On my product detail page: I have cross/upsell products, but can I turn it into a carousel, so I can show more items?]
    On my site the related products are not a carousel? They are only showing 3 items and I can’t scroll through them

    I also have 2 extra questions
    [Can my woocommerce product also have video in the gallery, or only images]
    And
    [My woocommerce products image gallery are square, can I change the aspect ratio to a rectangle?]

    Thanks again for your help, really appreciate it!

    Hey There,

    I viewed your website and noticed this isn’t caused by the Toggle Widget Area. It looks like your Desktop is using the Mobile Header. This could be caused by the Screen Size To Switch To Mobile Header setting. Please follow the instructions I’ve included below instead.

    First, you can go over to your WordPress Customizer.
    You can go to the Header Customizer Settings.
    At the top of your Header Customizer Settings, you can press the Design Tab.
    Here there is an option named Screen size to switch to mobile header.
    You can manually set this value, or you can press the reset value button on the side of the option.

    Here is a video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Bluze2WY

    I hope this information was helpful to you. Please let me know if this works for you.

    Best Regards,
    Victor

    Hey There,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    You can do this in the Customizer Settings. I will be sure to provide instructions for you below.

    You can go to your Customizer -> Header.
    On the bottom Right, you will see the Header Builder.
    You will see the Toggle Widget Area Item on the Header Builder.
    Click on the X Icon to remove that item from the Header.

    Hi There,

    [carousel under the header]
    With Kadence Pro, you can create a Hooked element to create a carousel.

    • Enable Hooked elements from Appearance > Kadence. Check the screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuzmN4b
    • Goto Appearance > Kadence > Elements > create a new element
    • You will see a pop-up to select Element Setup > Content Section. Check the screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuepbl9
    • Select a row layout and personalize the design to suit your requirements.
    • Select Element Settings from the right top icons.
    • Set Placement: After Header.
    • Show On: Entire site or Single Product.

    [How can I change this image in the title bar]

    • customizer > Posts/Pages Layout > Archive Layout > Enable Show Archive Title > Select design tab > Archive Title Background
    • Check the screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuWkJpp

    [On my homepage, I would like to have a carousel]
    If you are using Kadence Blocks Pro, then you can use the Advanced Slider block to create a carousel on the homepage. https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-blocks/pro/advanced-slider/

    [I’d rather have the search bar directly in my header. Is this possible?]

    You can add a search bar in the header from customizer > Header > Search bar(Drag and Drop in your header)

    The Search Bar item is only available in the header for users with the Kadence Pro plugin installed and activated on their website.

    Check the screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/2Nup7xpQ

    [filter for my shop page]
    You can use a Sidebar on your Shop Archives. You can customize the Sidebar by going to your Appearance > Menus. WooCommerce comes with filter blocks that can be used on your Sidebar. For example, the Filter: Product By Price block.

    Once you have customized and saved your Sidebar, you can go to your Customizer > WooCommerce > Product Catalog. You can select an Archive Layout with a Sidebar under the Archive Layout options.

    Here is a video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuD9YzJ

    You can also consider using the Catalog Off Canvas Widget. You can go to your Appearance > Widget and add your filters to the Catalog Off Canvas Widget. Then you can go to your Customizer > WooCommerce > Product Catalog. You will see the Off-Canvas Sidebar settings. You can enable the option to Add Off Canvas Widget Area. This will allow you to set a Toggle Icon and Label. The Toggle Icon and Label will appear above your Shop Items. Once you press the Toggle Icon, the Catalog Off Canvas Widget will slide out.
    Here is a video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/JruyJBLX

    [On my product detail page: I have cross/upsell products, but can I turn it into a carousel, so I can show more items?]
    Currently, there is no option to turn the cross/upsell section into a carousel. Kadence offers a carousel for the related products section.

    [Currently I am using the mega menu, and it opens on hover. Can I let it open on click instead?]
    You can do this using Custom CSS and Custom Code.

    You can add Custom CSS in your Customizer> Additional CSS. https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/general/how-do-i-add-custom-css/

    Here is the Custom CSS:

    .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu,
    .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu * {
     visibility: hidden !important;
     transition: none;
    }

    .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu.clicked {
        visibility: visible !important;
        opacity: 1 !important;
        clip: auto !important;
        height: auto !important;
        overflow: visible !important;
    }

    .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu.clicked * {
     visibility: visible !important;
    }

    .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children.menu-item-object-custom>ul.sub-menu.clicked {
     display: block;
    }

    You can add this code using the Code Snippets plugin: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/advanced/how-to-add-a-custom-filter-or-function-with-code-snippets/

    Here is the Custom Code:

    add_action('wp_footer', function(){
     ?>
    <script>
    const megaMenu = document.querySelectorAll('.kadence-menu-mega-enabled > a');
    const subMenu = document.querySelectorAll('.kadence-menu-mega-enabled > .sub-menu');
    const siteNavigation = document.getElementById('site-navigation');

    megaMenu.forEach( function(menu){
     menu.addEventListener('click', function(e){
     e.preventDefault();
     if ( menu.parentElement.querySelector('.sub-menu').classList.contains('clicked') ) {
     subMenu.forEach( function(submenu){
     submenu.classList.remove('clicked');
     });
     } else {
     subMenu.forEach( function(submenu){
     submenu.classList.remove('clicked');
     });
     menu.parentElement.querySelector('.sub-menu').classList.add('clicked');
     }
     });
    });

    document.addEventListener('click', function(event) {
        let isClickInsideElement = siteNavigation.contains(event.target);
        if (!isClickInsideElement) {
            subMenu.forEach( function(submenu){
     submenu.classList.remove('clicked');
     });
        }
    });
    </script>
    <?php
    },99);

    I hope this information was helpful to you. Please let me know if this works for you.

    Hey Steve,

    The menu item text and underline colors depend on the Navigation Colors in the Design tab of the navigation widgets.

    I’ve created the code you can tweak to change the underline color on active and hover state:

    /* active menu */
    .main-navigation .primary-menu-container > ul > li.menu-item.current-menu-item > a::after{
        color:red
    }
    /* hovering menu */
    .main-navigation .primary-menu-container > ul > li.menu-item> a:hover::after{
        color:green
    }

    Here’s how it should work: https://share.getcloudapp.com/DOuKLE2N

    Kindly add the code in Customizer > Additional CSS. Please note that the code works only on the Primary Navigation. For Secondary Navigation, change “.primary-menu-container” in the code into “.secondary-menu-container”

    Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Hi there,

    I’m here to help.

    You can rearrange the menu items in WP Admin > Appearance > Menus. This can also be done on Customizer settings.

    In the Menus page, you can create new menus and assign a menu as the Primary. Then, make sure you add the Primary Navigation widget on your header.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for writing back.

    I checked it, and you are referring to the Mobile Navigation. Kindly click the gear icon within that navigation widget and go to the Design tab to adjust the Font size – here’s a video for your guide: https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0uLO6mW

    I apologize for the lack of documentation, but we are actively working on improving it. I appreciate the suggestion and will relay this to our team.

    Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Hi Steve,

    You can achieve that layout using two Navigation widgets – here’s a video for your guide: https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQupA4GX

    Basically, you can assign the left menu items in the Primary Navigation and the right ones in the Secondary Navigation.

    Then, place those widgets including the Logo in the header main row.

    Hope this helps, and let us know how we can assist further.

    It looks like the slide-out menu is empty. You need to add the widgets you like within the Off Canvas container. Here’s a guide:

    Hi Arek,

    Thanks for writing back.

    There won’t be a conflict between the plugins you’ve mentioned. However, you can’t use Elementor widgets in a conversion item as it’s only allowing Gutenberg-based blocks such as Kadence Blocks.

    Hope this helps clarify, and let us know if there’s anything else you need help with.
