October 31, 2017 at 1:53 pm #166127By default woocommerce outputs featured products by “menu_order” meaning by the order, you set in your admin on the sort products page.
There isn’t an option to randomize the carousel for the home page but you can add a carousel using pagebuilder or the home widget area and a shortcode. Then in the shortcode parameter, you could set the order to random. would be like this:
[carousel type="featured-products" orderby="rand" items="10" columns="5"]Ben

October 31, 2017 at 10:33 am #166030Hey,
Footer titles are left by default but I can certainly help you center if that’s what you want. And that is what we are here to help with. If you go to theme options > custom css you can add this:.footerclass .footer-widget-title { text-align: center; } .footer-widget-title span { padding: 0 10px; }One place to be sure and check is the “inactive” widgets area, which you can see below all the widget options that you can add.
finally, if the widget was theme specific. Say Pinnacle: something widget then it’s possible there is no directly connected widget in the Ascend theme. If you know which widget it is I would be able to provide a suitable option.
Your Blog page is currently set as the “posts page” in your settings reading. This tells WordPress to ignore any page content and ignore any page template. That is why any text that you are placing in the page content isn’t showing.
A simple solution is to not set any page as the “posts page” in your settings reading. Just leave that on blank. Then on your page which you would like to be the blog page set the page template to “blog” and you will still be able to have text show above the posts.

October 30, 2017 at 2:48 pm #165868I am using fullwidth page builder on the very first row where I am using a call to action widget and it is not making any interference with the sidebar.
All other rows have standard layout.
So in my opinion that should not be the problem.Regardless of your opinion on how web design and development works. I’m simply trying to help and explain that you should not add a full-width row when you are using a sidebar. You should just add your sidebar content into the page using page builder columns. Or you should add your fullwidth content above the page using the page title area.
You are welcome to ignore the advice of the developer I’m just tiring to help you make a good site.
In terms of microsoft. It’s known that it’s the worst and lest flexible browser. It won’t do what browsers like chrome will and self fix a page. It also won’t support flexbox fully.
If you send me a login I can force your split content to work even with your page layout being all wrong with the full width and sidebar. But I still recommend that you do things the way they are supposed to be done.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Portrait style blog post summaries on home page
Hi Hannah and Ben
Thanks for your responses. Is there any CSS to reduce the excerpt to 10 words? I am not trying to keep things the same height here, just to have a shorter excerpt to see what that looks like. I love the carousel without the excerpt, though! Thanks very much!
Also, I have stacked up blog post shortcodes in visual editor widgets in the home widget area to show various categories on the homepage. I love the animation effects that are built into the theme, but it seems that only the first row of summaries gets the effect, and the following rows are all there at the same time without floating up gradually as you scroll. Is there a way to apply the animation to each shortcode? I don’t want to use page builder. See theinspirationcloud.com
Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate your patience in helping me gets things just so.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Shortcode
Hi Dmitry,
You can use shortcodes like these:
[products limit="9" columns="3" category="sales"]
[products limit="9" columns="3" category="charter"]
Then you can paste those into your home page content area or else a text widget within your home widget area.
Hope that helps!Hannah
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Portrait style blog post summaries on home page
Hi again
You can disregard 1 and 2 from my last post as I figured out a way to do what I wanted without using page builder.
I would like to know though if you have some CSS code to shorten and/or eliminate blog summary excepts on the homepage (shortcodes in visual editor widgets in home widget area), and also the carousels at the bottom of individual posts.
Many thanks!
Janine
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Sticky Header
Hello Rachelle,
You can enable a widget area in your header by going to Theme Options> Main Settings, and finding “Logo Layout (Standard Header only).”
Set that to the far right option, and then save. Go to Appearance> Widgets, and then assign the widgets to your header in the header widget area.
Let me know if that works for you!

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello, I have implemented the search bar widget in my footer, but am not able to figure out how to remove the title “search” from above/next to it. It is pretty obvious that it is a search bar with the magnifying glass embedded in it, so I feel the title search is not necessary.
I can delete the characters “search” in the widget area but they reappear again after I click save.
I would like to remove or hide the title altogether.
Thanks.
In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Importing into Ascend
Thanks for your prompt response. No one told me to do it this way. After taking so long playing around with the Ascend theme on a duplicated image of my live site, I guess my goal was to not lose a lot of customer data. I think back in May, I started playing around with Ascend. So I have new customers on the live Pinnacle site that are not on the copy of the Ascend site. I could run Duplicator Pro on the dev site and just lose those customers and order information. Not a huge deal, just was hoping to find a way to get the current database with all the work I did on the dev site.
I suppose there is a way to import data using SQL, but I don’t think I want to go there! I’ve looked at few of those tables and there are tons of them involving Woocommerce.
What is “Theme Options > Export to data file” supposed to do? I was hoping that would have menu settings, widget content, etc. But I guess not.
Another option is to just continue to play around with my copied (from live) site until I get it to look like the dev site. I have a better idea what to do now, but I have added a lot of images on the dev site that are not on the live site.
Another thought came to me. Even though you work on pages they maintain the original publishing date, so when I export them I get duplicates and/or none at all. What happens if I either change the publishing date or author’s name or is it better to just change the name of the page altogether?
I still have the problem of getting at the widgets I spent time developing on the dev site. In many cases they don’t show on the home page or other page content. They are in widgets like Primary Sidebar, Shop sidebar, Header Extra Widgets area, Topbar widget area, and Home widget area. Also Footer 1, Footer 2, etc. These had content from your Shopping Demo that I changed. It would be nice to be able to copy/download them to the new site. /Bob
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I’ve enabled sitewide footer call to action in Theme Options > Footer. I’m using the footer layout with one full-width panel on the top row, and three panels beneath it in the second row. The three panels are already full up with stuff (buttons created using SiteOrigin Button widget). Therefore I’d like to include a “BOOK NOW” button in the full-width panel, using the same style of button, created with SiteOrigin widget. However, when I try to do this, and insert the button into Footer Column 1, it appears in Footer Column 3 with the other buttons. The only way I can get a button into the correct area is to create it using the sitewide footer option, but then the button is in a different style and it sits over to the right of the screen rather than being centered.
I’d appreciate any suggestions for getting a SiteOrigin Button into the full-width area of this 4-area footer.
Thanks
Tanya
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Importing into Ascend
Trying to update Pinnacle Premium to Ascend Premium. I have a development site running Ascend Premium and I have a lot of new pages, menus, Kadence sliders, products, images, and new settings. I want to upload or import the settings from the dev site to the new site. I thought the following would work, but am running into trouble.
1. Ran Duplicator Pro on my Live Pinnacle Premium site. Created new directory and installed file from Duplicator Pro. Installed the database and got it up a running just fine.
2. Ran tools > export > all content on development site running Ascend Premium.
3. Ran Theme Options > Export to data file from Ascend Premium development site.
4. Activated Ascend Premium on the new site, thus replacing Pinnacle Premium.
5. Ran tools > import > run importer on new site (THIS FAILED WITH AN ERROR). I THINK I GET A 500 ERROR.But some of the content came over as I noticed some pages, some products, the Kadence sliders, and some images. I
6. Ran theme options > import from file. Seemed to import some of the settings but not all. The menus were all messed up. And none of the content for the widgets came across. In particular the Home Widget Area page builder did not come, nor did any of the footer 1/2/3 or 4 widget content. None of the menus came over.
The “run importer” file is about 17 megabytes. It ran and ran and finally gave me an error. On my desktop it gave me a 500 error, on my Mac it just said there was an error. Is it timing out?
Shouldn’t 2 above bring over all the settings from the Ascend Premium, including all the menus, etc.? Is this failing because of the failure on step 5 above?
If I am timing out, can I fix it or do I have to import one item at a time rather than all content? /Bob DeCloss

October 25, 2017 at 7:02 pm #165193That puts a widget area beside your logo and menu drops below. When that is enabled you can go to appearance > widgets and edit the header widget area.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Portrait style blog post summaries on home page
Hi again
I have ended up using several Pinnacle Carousel widgets in the home widget area to display various blog categories, and you gave me some CSS code (in Hannah’s 2nd response above) to make all the summaries the same height. This has worked on PCs, but continues to be variously-sized, according to excerpt content, on Android devices. Any ideas?
Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Mike,
Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Custom CSS:@media (min-width: 1200px) { .kad-right-header.kt-header-flex-item { width: 50%; } li.menu-widget-area-kt.kt-second-header-widget-area { padding-left: 100px; } }Let me know how it works for you!

In forum: Ascend ThemeI know how to accomplish this with Virtue, but apparently not with Ascend. I have a logo in the left of the header and am making use of both header widget areas, but there is a large gap between the logo and the first widget area. I’d like to close that gap and maybe give about 40-50% of the header area to the logo and split the remaining space equally between the 2 widgets so everything loos a bit more balanced. The site is HERE.
Thanks as always!

In forum: Ascend ThemeHello Hannah!
But this should be on all pages, not only on Homepage.
My Homepage layout now is this: Home Widget Area, Product Carousel Tab, Page Content, Latest Blog posts.
So adding a row separator in ‘Home Widget Area’ or to the ‘Page Content area of Homepage’ is not what I wanted to.I tried to add row separator to ‘Above footer Widget Area’ widget, but I see no change…
Thanks,
Anita -
