Hey, You just need to use our shortcodes and not the pagebuilder loop widget.

So for a style like the home page:

    [blog_posts items="4" cat="photos"]

    and a grid:

    [blog_grid columns="3" cat="photos"]

I have used the page builder to create a two column layout on my home page and inserted the “post loop” widget into each column. It’s great because I can category filter via the Additional field. My issue is w/ their layout once rendered. The only option seems to be to have the featured image large above the title and text. Is there a layout option to make the featured image to the left of the content akin to how the Enable “latest blog posts” show? You can see the demo here: Note: the latest blog posts render horizontally and the post loop blog posts render more vertically. Additionally, is there a method to use the post loop to render posts into a specified column layout? For instance 3 or 4 columns. Thank you.

So you can set the page template to default then paste a shortcode like this into a visual editor widget: [portfolio_types columns="4" items="16"] Then add your call to action widget to a row below that.
    Hope that helps!

    Hey,
So I think your best bet here would be to use a staff grid shortcode like this: [staff_posts columns="4" items="12"] You can just paste that into your visual editor.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Jason,
The portfolio is not actually linked with woocommerce. This tutorial explains setting up a portfolio page- https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-portfolio-page-with-virtue/
If you want to display your portfolio posts on the homepage you would need to use a shortcode like this- [portfolio_types columns="4" items="12"]
You would just need to set your front page as a static page in Settings > Reading and paste that code into your static home page.
    Hope that helps!

Hi, I’m trying to add a new post that uses a two-column text layout, similar to your Portfolio template. I’m using the shortcode [columns] [span6]. It works fine in the post, but when it shows up in carousel or featured posts areas the text description doesn’t show up. It just shows “read more”.
You can see it on my front page:

scroll down to “featured projects” > Unica Kinetic Typography

Any way to bypass this and get some text in there?

ok you can set the columns to 4 instead of two. Thats up to you in the page settings.

This doesn’t have to do with compatibility. It’s a permalink conflict in wordpress. just have to change the permalink.

    Hey lee.

First the blog_grid shortcode does’t have an id or link or masonry option… Those are from the gallery shortcode.

    See here for blog-grid : http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#shortcodes

You need to be using something like :

    [blog_grid columns=4 items="10"]

Then you can use this css:

    .shortcode_blog_grid_content .blog_item .entry-content {
      display: none;
    }

    Ben,

    1. Thank you, using the columns worked.

    2. Sure. Compare the 3-column icon menu on the homepage at http://www.trullc.net with the 3-column iconbox menu at http://www.trullc.net/properties/rentals. Note how on the home page, when you hover the mouse over each image, you see orange highlighting all around the image, but on the “Rentals” page, you don’t see the orange highlighting around the image when you hover over it with the mouse. I’m looking for that same orange highlighting (or halo) around the image when hovering.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi,

I have a 2X2 grid on a page builder page set up with a 500px by 300px image, H3 title, and description each in Visual Editor Widgets. The issue is that the bottom of the grid isn’t lining up on the bottom edges of each row. There are two rows, each with two columns that contain the Visual editor widget. Each of these has identically sized images and the text is the same size and well.

    Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hey,
You can use a shortcode and have it show only the latest 12 products. Something like this: [recent_products per_page="12" columns="4"]
So you could create a page and call it New (or whatever) and paste the code in that page then set the parent page to the Shop page. Is that what you were thinking?

    Hey,

Some times it’s nice to catch up on sunday nights so the load is less monday morning 🙂

So you would need to use a woocommerce shortcode to add products.

The woocommerce shop page can’t be split it’s an archive page so you would need to just create a page and add in your text then a shortcode to call in the products then your text.

    Shortcodes: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/

here is an example of what you can use:

    [recent_products per_page="12" columns="4"]

    1. You can use the themes column shortcodes to make columns and then place each image menu item in a column or use pagebuilder.

    2. I’m not sure I understand can you post a link?

Thanks Ben, that gets me part of the way there. There are two things left to get it working like an Icon Menu on the homepage:

    1. Each iconbox is the full size of the image I’m using, but I want to be able to set the number of columns of icons, like I can with the img_menu shortcode. Or, at least I want to be able to set the size of each iconbox and have more than one of them next to each other side-by-side.

    2. The mouse hover effect only works on the description and the divider line between the title and the description. It does not work on the image in the iconbox, nor on the title text itself. I want it to all be the default orange color during the hover effect.

Is there some shortcode and/or CSS code that I can add that will accomplish those two things?

    Thanks,
    Ben

I have a site where I use an icon menu with 3 columns on the homepage, and it looks great. However, it only looks correct in Chrome; in Firefox or Internet Explorer, the images I use for the “icons” do not scale down as the browser window is resized, so that they all fit correctly. Instead, the images always stay the original size (of each image), and just end up overlapping each other.

You can see this here on the homepage of the site:

Is there a workaround for this issue, or is it something you can fix in the theme code?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Hi Ben, I know the virtue theme is supposed to be mobile responsive. I placed photos directly into my columns and in the background. For some reason they’re not centering on my mobile device at all. what size should the pictures be?

I’m using Chrome and I still see the same bug on different screen. I stopped the automatic slide change so you can see better. It clearly cuts the image of the slide if I go from half screen to full screen directly. With some screens, when I reduce it in half the sliders are not responsive in height. I know it is not a huge problem but I still hope I can find a solution.

Also, is there a way to add content on a page that is placed at max width of the screen? Because I can’t reach farther than the limit width where my logo is (except with the sliders and the columns).

    Thanks.

    Hey,
In your theme options > home layout. Disable the “latest posts” and enabled the “home widget area”.

Then in your appearance > widgets add a text widget to the “home widget area” then add this shortcode to the text widget:

    [blog_grid columns="4" items="4"]

    Ben
