June 11, 2014 at 10:55 am #10434Hey,
Your first couple questions. Are you using jetpack pluign? if so you have to deactivate there mobile theme.
If not post a link.you can force background images to fill a space with css regardless of size and it’s what I would recomend if you are wanting a background image to fill any space. So for example with the body tag you add this css to your custom css box in the theme options > advanced settings:
body { background-size: cover; }Are you wanting to do this on your home page? If you just want three portfolio items you can use a shortcode. Add this to your home page:
[portfolio_posts orderby=date columns=3 items=3 lightbox=true showtypes=true]In the theme options > advanced styling you can add a background image to the header and footer.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: page builder and links
I an building a website and thought I would try the page builder and it seems to look great.
However, I noticed that in two columns and using the text widget on the left side to house text only with no links at all. The right side is also text widget with an image with a link to another website completely.
Why is my text side developing a link the same as the right side, even the heading has a link. Also when I click on text or visual, there is nothing there. Is this just an easy fix?
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben, I installed the latest theme update on 6/8/14 and noticed that my site (*Login to see link ) has changed quite a bit with the theme update. I attempted a few things but I could not easily fix these problems and I wanted to reach out to you before completely changing my site too much.
Here are some of the issues I’ve found after the update:
1) -Primary menu is much further down the page. I decreased the logo spacing in the theme options panel but it did nothing to alleviate the issue.2) -Homepage blog widget not showing. I have the Latest Blog Posts enabled on the homepage after the page content but this widget is not showing up. I tried to disable and re-enable this but this did not work.
3) -Footer widgets not displaying in their correct footer column. I have the footer style set to three columns and various widgets in each column. It looks like the widgets are all piled into a single footer. I’ve tried to change the footer style and then change it back to 3 columns but this did not work.
4) – No blog posts are displaying as previews. When you go to the blog section (*Login to see link none of the blog posts appear, but you can click on the background and you go to the appropriate blog post.
5) – Primary sidebar displays at the bottom of the page as full page content.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for fixes on this. Or if this is a larger issue with the update can you please advise on how I can backout the latest update so my site can display how it was prior to the update.
Thanks

May 29, 2014 at 2:16 pm #9765Visual aid was inconsistent with the tinymce wordpress editor. It didn’t alway work well and people had trouble acedentally deleating parts and there was no way to change the columns once you set theme up. So I worked really hard to add full support of pagebuilder (and add some extra features) which uses a better system and gives you tons more options. Once that was working out great I removed the visual style while upgrading the shortcode generator.
Here is a tutorial about pagebuilder: https://www.kadencewp.com/using-page-builder-virtue-premium/

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Visual Aid & Shortcodes
Hi!
Before I upgraded to Premium, I had the possibility to choose between Visual Aid or Shortcodes, for example when creating columns. But with Premium I cannot seem to find this function. And Virtue ToolKit does not work, I get error messages when trying to activate. I was really pleased with Visual Aid, how can I get it back?
Best regards,

May 22, 2014 at 1:22 pm #9416Yea just use page builder and the icon box shortcode.
Page builder allows you to have whatever size columns and the icon box shortcode will fill the space you put it in.

In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 20, 2014 at 10:50 am #9287I just tested the name should work you just have to add the quotes around it.
like I had above or like this:
[carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat="Tour in Bicicletta"]Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeDoesn’t work :
I have tried both slug and name category by using a category with 1 product only.[carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=tour-guidati-bicicletta] [carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=Tour in Bicicletta]It keeps displaying all the available products :

[carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat="Tour Guidati in italiano"]Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeI am afraid I can’t make it work. The page is shop.vivilondra.it
The shortcode im using is[carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=tour-guidati-londra-italiano]The category slug is tour-guidati-londra-italiano. But the carousel is actually showing all the available products. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks, Adriano
In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 20, 2014 at 8:08 am #9269Hey you can do it like this:
[carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=tshirts] [carousel type=cat-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=bags]Ben
Hi Ben,
I have been trying to use shortcodes to display specific products or product categories within a page (home page).
So far I used [carousel type=featured-products columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=photos]. Is there anything similar that allows me to pick specific categories rather than Sale Products Featured?Example: I have 2 product categories (T-Shirts | Bags). In the home page I want to display 2 separate carousels for these kind of products. How do I do it?
Many Thanks,
AdrianoIn forum: Virtue ThemeI am trying to remove the padding/margins from a few elements while using a child theme and custom css box, but I cannot get it to work:
Basically, I’m trying to remove the left and right padding/margins so that the logo/nav/etc all adjusts to be flush to the edges of the site.
In my live tester, these values work, but refuse to apply when I use them in the Custom CSS Box. Can you advise? This isn’t the first item that has been stubborn.

}In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Images not sizing correctly and no captions
May 12, 2014 at 11:35 am #8813I don’t think I’m using a widget. I had uploaded the images through WordPress (and added details and captions there) then I used Page Builder to add those images to the page “portfolio”.
Maybe a better question would be how to best accomplish what I’m trying to do with this theme:
1) One page with multiple, same sized images (in neat rows and columns, ideally images will be sized automatically) that have formatted captions.
2) Each image will link to another page (I know how to do that).
In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 12, 2014 at 11:11 am #8809On this page I used page builder to add three images (in three columns) and I have two issues:
1) the captions are not showing, even thought I added captions
2) the images are not formatted correctly. I chose “crop images to equal height” and put “199” in the “set image height if cropping” Yet the images sizes (from left to right) are:a) 800px × 640px (scaled to 293px × 235px)
b) 300px × 200px (scaled to 293px × 196px)
c) 300px × 240px (scaled to 293px × 235px)What am I overlooking?
I am trying to accomplish something like this
