    Hey,
You should be able to order categories by dragging them around up and down on the product category page in admin.

There isn’t a way to change all. If you want to show a limited category of products you would be better to link to the category page instead of the shop page.

Can you post a link I would like to see a little of what you are trying to do.

As for the home items invisible, this means you either have a javascript error or you needed to clear your cache (two javascript files merged and if the browser didn’t reread that file it wouldn’t work right). With version above 2 there is javascript that runs and reveals your items throughout the theme, if there is a javascript error the items will stay hidden.
You can test this by turning the animation in off in the misc settings of the theme options.

One last thing, if you update you have to update woocommerce to 2.1 if you haven’t already. The way woocommerce did the last update there isn’t a way for the theme to have backwards compatibility with other versions of woocommerce.

Using Virtue Premium theme. I can’t seem to get tagline to update on site. I’ve gone thru settings-general and appearance-customize to no avail. I can change the tagline in both places and save/update, but site doesn’t show change. I have tried three browsers, IE, FF and Chrome and have cleared cache. I looked at header.php and don’t see anything about title or tagline in there. Not sure what to try next?

That probably only means you needed to clear the cache with your browser. And if you are using a plugin you would need to clear that cache.

Were you able to import your theme options into premium? You would usually have to check the menus and widgets to make sure they were assigned correctly because it’s a new theme.

    Hi Ben,

I also tried the W3 total cache and it works better than the plugin Super Cache (in both I used the default settings). But it total destroys my site … 🙁
Any suggestions without going too deep into the settings of this plugin?

    Thanks, Martin

    Cache emptied no change

How do I update my theme? I went to my Appearance Theme and looked at the my current Virtue theme and there was no place to choose an update? Also, do I have to copy my settings offline and then re import them after the update?

    #4428

Ok, first make sure you are using the latest version of the theme 2.0.9.9.
Second make sure you have either cleared your cache or have any caching plugin off.
Third can you post a link to your site.

    Hey,
Yeah it’s part of the plan to merge two of the css files and 2 of javascript files, unfortunately 3 files have to do with the revolution slider so those are out of my control.

But most of what you need to do is enable all the caching and compression and thats done with a plugin like w3 total cache. I just turned it on for desktop on this domain and got a 90 without doing much tweaking. And I would have to to get the mobile up as total cache doesn’t do much mobile caching by default.

Hey Thanks for posting the video. I have some guesses. When you minify javascript it can make a small problem really noticeable. And if there are any errors it can cause the a lot of things to fail. From what it looks like you have several javascript errors showing up on your site.

It’s hard to know what they are from because it’s minified but one has to do with WPGroHo which i believe is a jetpack gravitar issue.

Can you email me a temp login, I’ll take a look at your sites settings and see if I can narrow it down. [email protected]

PS. I know it works because this site uses the minify settings in w3 total cache: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium-3/

    Ben,

I’m using the W3 Total Cache plugin and I’ve noticed that if I turn on minify I loose the image menu on the home page. Should this happen?

    Thanks,

    Tom

The breadcrumbs change based on the type of layout but if you want to customize them it can certainly be done.

I am working on the portfolio features right now, trying to get everything to work together to make it easy for two portfolio pages. I’m going to add an option for the navigation arrows to say within a parent category and have options for each post to set a different page as the “grid” page.

So that should be out today.

As for the back button forcing a reload, I’m sure that can be done, I don’t know the script but I assume if you did some research you could find a script. But I was under the impression that you wanted the back button to not force a reload, in essence show a cached page. The only way I’ve heard of this working is to use cookies. But that would be other one you would have to research out.

That’s what i thought too, but i don’t know how to clear a wordpress cache. I did try to download a plugin for it, but it crashed my site so i figured i’d write you before i tried it again. Can you recommend a cache clearing plugin?

Will send you the link and login.

    #3561

Strange, I just tested on those browser and it works. Have you tired clearing the page cache?

If you are using the database cache w3 Total cache alerts you when using woocommerce that you need to add a string to the ignored strings.
As for whats true, well yeah good luck 🙂 my my testing nothing takes the place of a good server, but caching can really help speed up all the processing involved with wordpress. Page caching to me makes the biggest and most noticeable difference without causing side affects. I would start with that.

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for fixing my site.

I am going to try W3 Total Cache again.

Are there any settings that need to be adjusted for using this plug-in with Woocommerce? Or are there any particulars to avoid, such as don’t address database or stay away from the minify options?

I’m reading different things online, and don’t know what’s true.

    Thanks again,
    Kimberly

Shop pages and menu link to shop pages are missing.

I tried adding W3 Total Cache. I really messed it up.

I tried upgrading the theme to the latest. It didn’t fix it. What should I do?

    Thanks,

    Kimberly

Hello, I uploaded a product image and then published. Then I went back and changed/uploaded the image for that product, but it still reflects the first image in the frontpage carousel and on the Shop page. I tried creating a new product with a similar name but different name and it shows the first image with that product too. I have cleared the cache and also checked it with a different browser. I have tried deleting the image in the dashboard to no effect. Would I need to go into the files/folders (via Dreamweaver) and delete that image. If so, where would I find that folder? If not, I am using WooCommerce do I need to contact them for the folder location? Nothing else seems to work. Thanks for your support.

Have you cleared your cache? Ben
