In reply to: Portfolio Grid goes
Hi Ben,
Yes, I am using the portfolio as a catalog first, then I will introduce the store later. My client does not want to add WOO right away as her operations needs to be setup first, so she wants to use a catalog first introducing her products before she sells online. I will look into the created projects a little more to see how that works to get a better understanding. I assume when you added a new portfolio item that would constitute a new project. I guess that is not the case. Is there a way to get it to see recently viewed products? Also, unclicked the transparent button and I still have a transparent background. I cleaned out the cache for today and still see no background on the secondary menu bar. Anything else I can do?

Hi Ben,
Yes, here is my site: http://zdzdesign.com/wp/products/. It is a work-in-progress site and has the password: Coffee! Click on any of the products and you will see the carousel at the bottom. I would be interested to see if you notice something different, then that would tell me maybe I would have to clear my cache? Also, you can see the secondary menu bar and notice the transparent background.
Thanks!

Hi, I try to change my page with portfolio grid, in order to set “Order Items By” to “Date”, but I see my oldest portfolio posts in first positions, not the newest. I updated my theme to 1.8.3, I deactivated my cache and minify plugins, I deleted my website cache, I try to unpublished and republished my page with portfolio grid, nothing change.
Maybe the “Order Items By” is set to display oldest posts first?

November 26, 2013 at 9:13 am #1917I would suggest it’s an issue with the cache settings, or you just need to use a different caching plugin like wp super cache

Well I just deactivated wp-rocket cache and now even when disconnected, the carousel is perfect and also in the shop page(collections) there are no more blank space between the products.
What would be your advice on this issue ?
Thanks for responding so fast !
I really appreciate and I just love your premium theme !

November 16, 2013 at 11:14 am #1630It sounds like browser caching, you need to clear your cache plugins and your browser cache.

November 15, 2013 at 1:51 pm #1598I see the icons? Try refreshing your browser cache?
BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Lightbox not working
Hi Ben,
Yes, it’s much better than the previous one, and noticeably much faster!
I found why I thought it was not working: the first time I clicked on a product picture after the upgrade the lightbox didn’t open up, then I refreshed the browser and it did. I tried with another broswser in the same computer and the same happened. I tried in a different computer and it worked fine. Then I assume it was an issue with the browsers cache in the computer I’m working on. Sorry for my confusion.
By the way, your Virtue theme is awesome! Great job.
Rgds,

October 25, 2013 at 10:04 am #1116It will speed up a lot with a caching plugin. I would use w3 total cache. Here is a tutorial I’ve found useful http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/the-ultimate-quickstart-guide-to-speeding-up-your-wordpress-site/

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Amazon CloudFront and css.php
I’ll explain how it works:
The server generates only once the file that is cached in CloudFront to change the version of the file.
In the current case, we have only the version of the theme to invalidate the file: css.php?ver=3.6.1
But if it were placed the unix timestamp as GET variable, the date and time of saving the theme settings, the problem would be solved, therefore every time you change something, a new version is generated and would be replaced in CloudFront.
css.php?ver=3.6.1&datesaved=1381522419 is an example with the variable date and time in unix timestamp.

October 14, 2013 at 4:57 pm #919After some digging I don’t understand how your method would work based on how the file is made. The file is drawn by the server as the site is loaded, not after each save of the theme options.
Still doing research, but I think for your situation you are better off just pasting whats in the css.php file into the head.php file and not enqueue it in as a css file. Then it’s just cached in the head.php file of your site.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Full Width and Boxed Options
September 27, 2013 at 8:36 am #649Hey Breezy,
The theme is responsive. Meaning if you chrome browser window is below 1200px wide it’s going to use the .container width at 940px. If it’s wider than 1200px it will use .container at 1170px.As for the boxed option not changing did you try refreshing that cache for firefox?
And the image menu: This feature wasn’t really designed for use with images that have text. It was meant for a background image that you would add text over by filling in the title area and description area. So you are right as you make your screen smaller it crops the right side to keep the height the same.
For what you are doing I would suggest using the content area of your home page. Adding columns and images in the columns. Then as you resize your browser it won’t crop the image just shrink it.
I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
