Hi,
1. I’ve searched for hours and tried a million things, but it seems I can’t figure this out. Ultimately, what I’m trying to accomplish is a look like the home page, where you can see some of the wood background above, below, and on each side of the content. http://www.shannonkatephotography.com.
Unfortunately, the settings that are working so well for the home page are not working on the Portfolio Post Pages. For example: *Login to see link As you can see, I’m able to add the background color I need behind the text via the Page Builder (to the right, where it says “information here.”) But since I can’t insert a portfolio grid in Page Builder, I’m not able to figure out how to get the background behind the images to be the solid color I need. ***Ideally, all the page content would have the solid color behind it like the home page does, so I wouldn’t have the keywords (hard to see because they’re purple) on top of the wood either. But I do still need the wood background to be visible above, below, and on both sides, like the home page has.
I am going to want this same look throughout all the pages (contact, about, etc.) However, on those I should be able to do it via PageBuilder if I have to.
I thought maybe there is CSS I could use for either Portfolio Post Pages or at least for the Portfolio Post Grid container?
2. Secondarily, is there a way to make the navigation through the portfolio posts a different color instead of white? I’m talking about the little box with arrows thing at the top right of the Portfolio Post Grid pages: *Login to see link
3. How to change the caption color on the cyclone slider please
Your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance! –Lori
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Blog Photo Grid
Hi Ben,
I have read probably the whole support, tried a few codes you have around but still i haven’t managed to reach what i am trying to do.
I have both of your themes, but as i am a virtue lover, i prefer to stick with it but the main thing i enjoy on pinnacle is the blog photo grid – *Login to see link
i can not figure out to get anything similar… I have even tried external plugins/ widgets as content views, the post grid and postgrid. The last one allows me to create something similar as the one you have on pinnacle but not as good; but when i try to use the shortcode, i guess it is not compatible as it shows a blank page.
As i use the builder, The only other idea I have is to use the widget ‘virtue: post grid’ but the images are far too small and i don’t see an option to add the transparence with the post name & date…..
at the moment, i am using a standard page as ‘home’ and on the builder, i use the widget ‘text’ with the code = [blog_posts columns=”2″ items=”6″ orderby=”date” word_count=1 type=normal]
With this code, I have a few issues:
– if i dont have the full screen open, the ‘squares’ ends up in different sizes
– i removed the ‘read more’. the word_count=0 doesn’t work so i am using it =1 but just under the title still showing (…)
– do not have an option to use the post date as on pinnacleIn resume, is there any way or a trick that i can reach the postgrid or at least reach a similar look of the pinnacle post photo grid?
I have tried the other way around, to change my theme back to pinnacle but in this case i can reach the ‘look’ that we just created with virtue, which we are very happy with.
Many thanks 🙂

Stu here again on behalf of Vyara
I’ve used the Chrome inspect function to check the error messages and it is showing that the errors are being driven by the standard WordPress file /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js
The error message is:
• jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.4.1:2 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
• 109(index):927 Uncaught TypeError: $(…).stellar is not a function
• (index):927 Uncaught TypeError: $(…).stellar is not a functionAs the website is using the latest version of WordPress, the theme and all plugins are up-to-date, and the posts display correctly for full blog and blog grid settings but not for summary blog, it would be appreciated if you would advise how we might be able to overcome the JQMIGRATE problem.
Thanks

Hey Evelyn,
So because you won’t be using the homepage layout manager some things will be a little different, but you can use page builder and get close.
For the icon menu you can use the visual editor widget and add icon box shortcodes. For the featured products carousel and the portfolio carousel you can use the Virtue: Carousel widget. Then for your latest blog posts you can use a shortcode like this:[blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=3 cat=photos]
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Post excerpts not showing on blog pages
I assisted with the setup of a Virtue Premium themed site at http://www.bodytalk4life.com about a month ago and it was working fine until this week when we noticed that less than all the post summaries were visible on the http://bodytalk4life.com/articles/ page, which uses the Blog template with a setting of 8 post summaries to display.
Only three or four summaries are displaying (depending on the browser used) rather than the eight summaries required.
To try to sort out why this is happening :
• I upgraded one plugin for which an upgrade was available. This didn’t resolve the problem.
• I disabled each plugin one by one, then all at once, to check whether there is a conflict with any of them. These tests didn’t affect the display of the post summaries so I expect that the problem is not being caused by a conflict with plugins.
• I set up an unpublished test page and published summaries of all posts, then only the Article posts on it. In each case the display of the summaries on this page had the same problem.
• I tried changing the Reading settings at http://bodytalk4life.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php and the Blog List Options on the Articles page between “Summary” to “Full”, and found that by making changes I couldn’t get eight summaries to appear on the page, but by making both settings “Full”, the correct number of posts (i.e. eight) displayed in full.
• I tried changing from the Blog template to the Blog Grid template and found that the correct number of post summaries displayed using the Blog Grid template.
It would be appreciated if someone would advise what actions need to be taken to resolve the problem.
We have not used a Child Theme as the Virtue Premium theme is being used without any modifications.

September 28, 2016 at 4:35 pm #115251If you want that in the grid you would have to change how the grid works by using a child theme and editing the template.
If you want to add the link in your testimonial page settings click “Add link to single post”.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Pinnacle Carousel Height
Hi Kevin,
How rule it works but the carousel column become too big and looks very ugly. I also tried instead of 260px making it 200px but in such a case again isn’t correct. Because if the post title is long it divides in 3 lines instead of two then the excerpt push down the column.
I suppose is needed a rule that check if the tile is longer than a certain amount of characters then excerpt must reduce its length to fit available space.
If the background is white there’s no problem because the eye compensate the difference but with colored background it’s a little problem of style. The idea is like the option you have in the theme to keep blog grid row at the same height.
Thanks for your precious support

In forum: Virtue ThemeIs it possible?
I would like the featured image in the blog post to show on the home page with the title, etc. in the image. I do not want the actual post to show.
I see that it’s possible in Pinnacle, but was looking for Blog Photo Grid in Virtue and can’t find it.
Thank you for your assistance.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHey Mimi,
1. The homepage has its own template and will override any other template. To show blog posts on the homepage you have several options. One is to set your homepage as the latest post page (settings > reading). Or you can use the latest blog posts feature in Theme Options > Home Layout. Or you can add a blog shortcode to either your page content if your homepage is set as a static page, or to a visual editor widget within the home widget area.2. If you’re using a blog grid try setting the summary to portrait image. Does that work?
Hannah
Hey,
Been working on liveforeverhowto.com/mimis-blog and hit a few issues I cant figure out, any help would be great.I’m using the three column blog grid (thanks for making all these awesome templates!)
working nicely except I cant make it work as a home page. When I set it as a static page and then visit the home its blank. if I make it a posts page (under reading) its a normal format post page with no grid.
why is it going wrong?glitch two
Blog options > defaults. When I set the default on post summaries to show image and ‘landscape image’ (or any option) my post grid page is blank, turn it off and my post grid is back? any ideas why?
so I have been editing each individual post and setting ‘head content’ to image and also post summaries there which works, but tiring. Thanks so much
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Home Blog List Feed "Not" Square
Thanks, Ben. I did update it, and I guess once this is sorted out, I’ll remake a new child theme.
Anyhoo…the final decision is that we are going with all featured images being “portrait.” To be exact, they are 735 wide x 1102 high. However, they only seem to resize themselves correctly in a blog grid page type. You can see here: http://www.yourorganizedlife.org/cleaning. ***Only the one that says “Spring Fresh Laundry” is the one with the correct image size we plan to use throughout***
What I need to do now is figure out how to get the images to automatically resize correctly on the home page (Most Recent Posts, which I have labeled Reader’s Favorites from My Blog), and on the main blog page (This article with the correct image size we will be using shows up on page three of the blog): http://www.yourorganizedlife.org/all-organizing-articles-and-tips/page/3/ (Actually, if there was one universal way that they would all resize proportionately throughout, that would be great, but…you know what I mean.)
Things I have already tried:
Making the home “page type” be a blog grid. It seems that since this is a “Home” page, it doesn’t allow that to happen.
Adding a widget to the page builder on the home page: Tried several different widgets but they all only show thumbnails, very tiny, not resized correctly, and with no excerpt.
The reason I don’t just make the home page be the blog page is that we only want posts from the category: most popular, to be on the home page.So that leaves me back to the original: I have the home page set in Theme Options to include Latest Blog Posts/Home Blog Settings. Long story short, what I need to do is: 1) Have images on home page blog posts resize correctly (portrait) and 2) Have images in main blog feed resize correctly (portrait).
Thanks again. Your time and expertise are greatly appreciated.
–LoriIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Blog post shortcode IDs
About the galleries, I thought about being able to select an article by its ID (in blog_post) like you do with standard WP galeries/photo grid.
I don’t know if it is clear enough? It is just a way I thought about using to offer a further reading to relevant articles in a page or article. It just looks a bit more eye-catching than the standard html link that says “go read that”.
I think I’ll go down the way of creating a useless category for now, but that isn’t something that I find particularly convenient.
Thanks for your time 😉
In forum: Virtue ThemeSorry if this has been asked before, I couldn’t find it in the forums. Seems like it should be easy to do.
I would like to have the featured image for each blog post show up on this page. *Login to see link
If I have to take away the sidebar, that is fine. I would also use the blog grid template – but that also doesn’t show the image.
Thanks
Mary LouIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Blog post shortcode IDs
Hello,
From what I understood in the shortcode documentation for Pinnacle. There is an option to ID one or more article to appear in the list without having to have a specific order (menu or date)
Blog Posts Shortcode:
[blog_posts]
Options:
orderby => menu_order and date
type => normal, grid, photo, full and slider
speed => 7000 (if type slider)
height => 400 (if type slider)
width => 600 (if type slider)
columns => 3 (if type grid or photo)
id => 7 (defualts to a random number)
items => (a number of how many items to show ex: 8)
cat => (category term slug)So my question is, would this seem right?
[blog_posts type=normal id=1487] id being the ID of the specific article I want to appear
Because, it just doesn’t seem to work and keep displaying the same article, the latest one actually…
If you have any clue on how I could make it work,
Thanks a lot

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Feature request
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeWhat I’d like to do is, essentially, have 3 staff grids, each in a separate section of the website and able to be managed independently. For example, one my site I have one staff grid for wives, one for team, and one for friends. So, my question is, since there seems to be only one staff grid, is it possible to duplicate it?
If duplication isn’t an option, is there a way to set categories within the staff grid, then perhaps call out the category in a shortcode that could be added to a different section?
I added the page link in my earlier post, but it apparently didn’t make it through for some reason. You’ll see I have a test grid set up under the Wives section, but I would like to do the same thing under Team and Friends.
