    Hey,
    You are not meant to be able to switch back and forth between editors. You would need to recreate your pages by creating new ones. You can copy and paste the content from older pages into a visual editor widget within the new. Will this work for you?

    Hannah

    Hello
    I’m using the following shortcode in a Origin sitebuilder text or html widget. The blog posts appear but there’s extra white space below that I can’t seem to remove.
    An ideas?
    Thank you.

    #252428

    That was using the “Gallery” widget, Hannah.

    Does it behave differently if I use a shortcode?
    Thanks,
    Phil.

    Hey,
    Kadence does have a widget dock where you could add an email subscription widget or a notice. See here: https://www.kadencewp.com/product/kadence-widget-dock/
    Or if using MailChimp, check out this post: https://mailchimp.com/help/add-a-pop-up-signup-form-to-your-website/
    Hope that’s helpful! Let us know if you have other questions about this.

    Hi,

    I have this theme for a long time and I have noticed that the Virtue: Image widget has a field to set a custom alt text to the image. But when you fill it the alt image in frontend doesn’t take any effect.

    I have seen the class-kad-image-widget.php file and there is a variable $alt that gets this alt text, but it is not used later in image alt.

    I think this could be fixed easily.

    Thank you.

    Hey Hannah!

    Okay, so I tried deactivating every one of my plugins, and it didn’t seem to do the trick… However, when I deleted “Black Studio TinyMCE Widget”, it deleted all of the content on my page… So I couldn’t accurately see if that was the issue.

    Do you have any other recommendations?

    #252298

    Hey Nicola,
    You can do this by enabling the widget area in your Header Extras from Theme Options > Header Settings. Then you can add a social links widget to the header widget area from Appearance > Widgets.
    Hope that helps!

    I decided to just redo the row using a layout builder widget, which worked correctly on mobile. Thank you.

    Hey,

    Every time I go into edit a page, I lose the main menu on the side… Is there a way to keep that up?

    That was a change in WordPress. When in the edit mode you can change this by clicking the three dots in the top right corner then toggling the fullscreen mode.

    Screen-Shot-2020-06-30-at-9-07-03-AM

    I get the warning “This block contains unexpected or invalid content”

    If you keep getting that error and you are not making any changes to that block (assuming you are recovering and saving) then you may need to reach out to siteorigin. You might also need to switch to the classic editor if it becomes an issue: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

    Is there a way to get rid of the white strip between my home page and my footer?

    You have an empty <p> tag at the bottom of your page which is creating the space. In the editor make sure to remove any empty paragraph blocks at the bottom.

    Every time I update a page, it seems like I have to push UPDATE twice before it takes effect…

    That could be server related or related to your content. It might be a reason to use the classic editor if you don’t intend to build with blocks.

    How can i center my footer text? I want the header, the social media icons and the credit all centered…

    You can add this css in your theme options > advanced settings > custom css:

    .footercol3, .footercredits {
        text-align: center;
    }

    #containerfooter .virtue_social_widget a {
        float: none;
        display: inline-block;
    }

    Hey Novel,
    That can be replaced from your static homepage. Edit the page builder row with the call to action widget, then open the Design tab and there you can replace the background image of the row.
    Hope this helps!

    Hey Frank,
    In Settings > Page Builder > Layout you can set “Row/Widget Bottom Margin” to 0.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi,

    I am looking to find a way to add a widget with Recently viewed products at all product pages. To be displayed below the “You may also like” up-sell product row. Tried the SiteOrgin Premium Plug-in and their Woocommerce Template builder. To my understanding SiteOrgin is a recommended plug-in?

    I have created a product page template within SiteOrgin Premium plug-in, that works with all rows and widgets, apart from the last row and not the widget row containing Recently viewed products. Any toughs on why? Is there a conflict between the Ascend theme settings and the SiteOrgin Premium Plug-in?

    Is there another plug-in that may work better with Ascend that you can recommend? Or perhaps a way to do this within Ascend without plug-ins?

    Thank you.

    Doesn’t help to disable Select2 in the theme settings. Whenever I go to the wordpress “Widgets” page the page is completely frozen due to Select2

    Is it possible to add text above and below this Title Typed Text feature? In a widget format or shortcode?

    #252080

    Thanks Hannah,
    I think we are stuck with the images they have given us.

    If we can’t get the height to increase in a Slider type Gallery block, I notice the behaviour is different if I use a shortcode.

    If I use the following shortcode in a sidebar widget, the image size is expanded to fill the space so the images are larger.

    [gallery ids="292,293,294,295,296,297,298,299,300,301,302,303,304,305,306,307,308,309,310,311" type="slider" columns="1" lightboxsize="large"]

    1. Is there a way to switch off the lightbox effect?
    2. How can I associate an external URL with each image so the user can click on the image and fvisit the supplier site?

    Thanks,
    Phil.

    Hi there, Is there a global setting somewhere that I can adjust the button hover color? I’m using the button widget and when hover effects is checked, it by default, slightly lightens the color on hover. Is this in theme options somewhere that I can edit? I actually want the button color to go slightly darker. All the orange button on my site, I would like the hover color to be: #b57414

    Hi I’m using a child theme of the basic Kadence theme ( I’m now thinking I should have used one of your premium themes – so please advise if this can’t be done with the basic theme). I am using gutenberg blocks, with Kadence blocks.

    So, I have set the homepage to display latest posts – set to max of 3.

    I Like the style of this display and would like to create an archive page with similar style – probably with smaller post boxes, with pagination links. Tried creating an archive page with the post grid block, but don’t see how I can get the pagination?

    As an alternative, I’d could use a widget that shows posts by year – this blog has a lot of posts from early 2000’s through to 2013 and is now being revived and used again. So, the archive monthly widget is a very awkward interface since there may only be one per month. Anyway, if there is a way to setup a year drop down, the display seems to use the same style as the blog posts on the home page. You can see the archive widget on a past page here:

    Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    You need to enable the Widget Area in the Header Extras in Theme Options > Header Settings.

    Hi Hannah,

    I was able to disable the Search from the Header Extras.
    However I can’t seem to find it to enable it. I’ve added it to my widgets, but when customizing, only the footer widget areas are showing it seems.

    Hey Nabil,
    You can do this by disabling the Search from the Header Extras and instead enabling the Widget Area and adding a search widget from Appearance > Widgets. Will this work for you?
