Hi,
I am having some trouble with the product categories grid. Up until now it worked fine on my website but it has suddenly dropped down into a column format with a dot before each product category thumbnail. The grid works fine listing products, it is only on the Shop page that there seems to be the problem. *Login to see link

I have a product categories page with only [product_categories number=”12″ parent=”0″ columns=”3″] on it. The only things we have done recently is add Yoast SEO and run upgrades. We are running the latest version of the Virtue theme. Please can you advise me what could have gone wrong and how to rectify it.

Hi Hannah,

I am doing it by using Page Builder –> Add Row –> 2 (or 3) columns –> add widget –> info box –> icon.

The icon boxes I have on the homepage (scroll to the bottom: http://www.jimaceverett.com) did work, but I can’t get it to work with the rows and columns layout in page builder.

Hey, 599 would be for a two column image menu item. The width is set based on the columns you set. 599 makes the image optimized without being too large. There is a small section of screen size where that size doesn’t match with the full width but I am not aware of a device that is at that screen size as it’s larger then phones and smaller then tablets.

But if you would like to make it the original height and width of your image then you would set the columns two 1.

1920 x1200 is the ideal max image size per theme punch for “web friendly” image sizes. Re-sized a picture to play with the settings. Theme options> advanced styling> upload the main content background image and I get what is on the site now. Tiles or repeats twice. any suggestions?

Is there a way to disable the header all together and move those menu items to the top bar. I’m sure I can add icons to the top bar; link them to other pages, and make it transparent. That I have no issues with.. I guess turning off the header if it’s possible would be my question.

I have the apple website in mind behind the turning off the header. The top bar above the slider is cool but it looks good under the slider too. I won’t be picky.

set up a page for each one of the toys we have for construction. In the product gallery the pictures are in two vertical columns. Is there a specific setting I’m missing to have one row?

Hey,
If they are added as a child category then you would need to allow child categories through your shortcode:

[product_categories number="12" parent="1" columns="3"]

Or you can make all your categories not child categories.

There isn’t away with tags. You can do this as a grid of posts if you use categories but there isn’t an option with tags.

The link you posted went to a not found page? The images in a gallery would be largely based on how many columns you had set.

Edit the page. click on the text tab. Make sure only[product_categories number="12" parent="0" columns="3"] is on the page. Nothing else.

2. No, your menu is separate from any page content.

After the last update my slider stopped working again. This has happened before but was resolved a few weeks later after an update. Now it’s ‘broken’ again. You can still view the slider but it’s not pretty any more.

It’s the Single Gallery Post Head Content. I used to have it standard on image carousel (caroufedsel carousel) and then the header would place all the images beside each other showing several images in the header. Like several columns. Now it’s just showing 1 image with big blank spaces in between them. You can only view 1 image at a time.

I want the images to be right next to each other. I hope I am explaining this well. Hopefully someone can help me out?

I plan to use 2 columns and a lot of image sliders but my images do not look right when cropped.

You can edit all the number of columns in theme options > shop settings. Is that what you mean?

Hey,
The testimonial posts show based on the order number you can edit in each post. IN the post attributes section. The lower the number the higher it will be on the page. by default they are all at 0 so it’s showing the oldest first but if you opened the newest post and changed the number to -4 then it would show first on the page.

If you would like to just have then ordered by date then you can use a shortcode instead of the grid template.

What I’ve tried so far after your suggestion and your link for short-codes:

1. Theme Option -> Misc. Settings -> Create Customised Sidebar -> “sidebar-test“
2. Pages -> New Page -> “sidebar-test” with atribute “Sidebar”. Publish.
   1. Added the text to the page:[product_categories number="12" parent="0" columns = "6"].
   2. Sidebar Options-> Choose the sidebar -> “sidebar-test“. Update page. Test: Ok categories displaying on “sidebar-test” page.
3. Home Layout -> Choose sidebar for the initial page-> “sidebar-test“. Save Changes.

When I refresh the homepage, the sidebar is a white page.

1. What size screen are you looking on? This is a responsive theme so when you set 6 that would only apply to desktop. If you looked on a smaller screen the columns would change.
When I look on desktop I see 6.

2. Add a featured image to each post and set your “post summary” to portrait image.. http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#blog_posts

3. It would depend on the widget and what part. for example the widget titles are going to be effected by your h3 styling. the normal text would be effected by your body styling. Custom widgets with links or menus would require custom css. If you are specific with what you want to change I would be happy to help with the css.

Home: I set six columns in the image menu, portfolio carousel, carousel customization. By accessing the website (www.sport4all.it) displays 4-3-4 columns. why ?
How do I view images alongside the last post?
Widgets footer – How do I Manage the size of the characters?

Hi!
So if you’re using the shop template there ins’t an option to move the text to the bottom. You would need to use a shortcode like this:
[recent_products per_page="40" columns="4"]
So you could just paste that into a page and add your text underneath.
