In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Page content mostly blank
Please look at the images in *Login to see link
My site is http://www.canberra-alliance.org.au or http://www.capad.org.au for shorter.
The image called “capad-1 server” shows how the About Us page looks when loaded from the server. This is just fine.
I do development on localhost. Image “capad-2 localhost browser” is how it looks when being edited in Firefox. It looked like this both before and after clearing the browser cache, and after re-launching Firefox. It looks identical in Chrome.
Image “capad-3 localhost editor” shows that there is indeed HTML content in this page.
My worry of course is that whatever disease is affecting the localhost page could be transferred to the server database when I upload the files. (A major update upload is ready to go.)
I’ve tried creating a totally new page. Same result. I’ve tried copying down the contents of the server page exactly. Same result.
Any idea what’s going on and what I can do about it?

January 18, 2017 at 3:32 pm #129065This has to do with your caching plugin…

Hey Maxime,
Do you have minify turned on? If so, try turning that off to test. If there’s no change you could try contacting your host as some servers are not compatible with w3 total cache. Or else you could try using a different caching plugin like WP Rocket.Hannah

Make sure you’re clearing your cache after making the changes.
If that still doesn’t work, you can check in Theme Options> Blog Options and scroll to the bottom where you’ll find “Blog Category/Archive Defaults” and set that to be full width.
Does that make a difference?

How you clear your cache depends on the plugin that you’re using for caching. Each plugin should be very similar in how you go about it, but may vary a bit between each other.
You can try that. I don’t know if that will work for sure, but give it a try and let me know.

I did turn it on again briefly for testing? It is turned off now though, if needed I can clear the cache, can you elaborate as to how I would do that? It’s worth noting that I tried on BrowserStack and the problem is visible there as well.
Thank you in advance!!

In forum: Virtue ThemeJanuary 16, 2017 at 12:41 pm #128677I don’t know what title to post this question under so I’m asking it here…
It it really best if you can create new topics for new questions…
But to back up… 5 this has to do with retina screens only. Backgrounds have funky support but an update for this is coming that will make background look better with retina.
6. Your page load time is your issue. all your images where uploaded uncompressed?? Please see https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/
8. Sure edit the category add your slider shortcode into the slider shortcode box on the category edit screen.
9. This is why infinite scroll is in many cases bad to use. There are tons of articles on this trade off as browser can’t cache and retain a page that is built through infinite scroll. I don’t suggest anyone use it for this reason but it is a feature people want so thats why it’s an option in your theme options. Read about it and decide for yourself if the trade of is worth it. But note that almost ever major online store doesn’t use it.

January 16, 2017 at 11:35 am #128647I can’t see the page in it’s current state, meaning I can only see a cached version of the page. Meaning when logged in the php isn’t running to check if the viewer is logged in because all you can see if the cached output of the php code.

January 13, 2017 at 7:35 pm #128440Shaun I think the whole issue is with your caching not showing you the page raw.
Are you using a server cache? What do you have set up?
