You have this error: http://www.compassandfork.com/:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier

Which means you either have a plugin that is breaking the javascript due to some bad code or you’ve set up something in your minify setting with w3 total caching (like broken the js load order) and that is breaking the javascript on your site.

Can’t see your settings but start by turning off minify in your w3 total cache settings.

Finally there is a chance this is do to your child theme if your adding a script somewhere can you tell me what your doing in the child theme?

The similar post carousel is no longer displaying. I can see the heading, but no actual posts. I suspect a conflict somewhere but not sure where to try- I recently added a child theme (think it was still working) and configured W3 Cache. (I have cleared caches). I suspect it might be a particular setting in W3 cache but it is so complex I have no idea! I cannot find it in the forums so thought I would ask before I try turning everything on/off to get it to work again.

Just to be clear the javascript isn’t “cached”. It can’t it only runs when the function is clicked so caching would have nothing to do with this.

I also don’t see what your refering to. If you can post a video that may be helpful.

I’m not experiencing this issue. I cleared my browser cache, and reloaded the site, and was experiencing no slow loading.

As Ben said above, it’s likely your internet speed that is slowing the page down.

I am on vacation right now, so not sure about the speed, but the product only has 6 colors and each image is about 80 kB. I noticed it on the demo here:

Once the page is cached, it is obviously faster, but when visiting first time it takes about 2-3 seconds.

Hello again. I just updated the Virtue Theme on the same website to V3.8.3 and the side bar issue I had returned but in weird way. The thumbnails for the logos are now extremely big. At the time I updated the theme there was also an update for Contact Form 7 and Yoast SEO. I deactivated those two plugins just to check if they were the reason but that didn’t help. Any suggestions?

Update: After running the regenerate thumbnails plugin and also clearing cache everything is back to normal. Sorry for the false alarm.

I’m not sure I’m seeing what you’re seeing. What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing your cache? Can you send a screenshot?

Perhaps you have the site in the cache. So it works correctly. After clearing cache you can see what I mean, I think. Redirecting is all right for all pages except homepage. And I set the site URL to https.

It wasn’t a cache issue, just a click of a button. I got it to be transparent within the page settings.

Hello L,

Go into Theme Options> Custom CSS and delete any code that might be in there. It’s possible there is some CSS adding this to your site from when you imported the demo content.

Try that and let me know if it works for you. be sure you’re clearing your cache after making the changes, if you’ve got one running.

I’ve tried it on three different computers now, and the problem only persists on my working platform, so I’m sure it’s a cache issue.

Also this is a problem for my site.
I have enable transparent header, I also have WP Super Cache. This is a test to try out Kadence Slider Pro.
It worked at one point, but not longer work.

If it’s working on another computer than more than likely this is a caching issue. Have you cleared your cache? Are you using a caching plugin? We recommend WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.
