In reply to: Filter on shop page crashes mobile device browsers
July 21, 2015 at 11:07 pm #49728“WP Super Cache installed… Is that one not good?” – It’s by far the worst caching plugin (in my option). using the payed wp rocket or the free w3 total cache will make a difference.
“How can we narrow the problem down?” – have you tried on any other internet connection. To me I still think your issue has to do with your really long load time for mobile (and only mobile). Have you contacted your host in those 25 hours to see if there are error being logged in the php? That would really help if you can see a plugin causing errors on mobile and slowing down the site.
“How do we trouble shoot me getting a crash every time on everyones phone and you not?” – We try to figure out what is different about your settings. Like the internet connection. Or a browser setting.
“How can I send you the login details without posting them for everyone to see?” – when you type a reply you can check the box called “Set as private reply” which will make it private to you and me.

Ben, Thank you for your though answers again…I really appreciate your help…You seem very smart and logical…I have WP Super Cache installed…Is that one not good?…As far as my time I have over 25 hours trying to fix this problem……I make about $100 an hour when I work..So actually its about about right ..I can send you screen shots of each phone crashing because on safari the page gives and error on reloading….I am not logged in…I just go to site and click shop then filter then category then crash…from each phone and from different browsers….I am on wifi …cleared each phones cache and each phone then crashes again…I would love to look at the settings but if your unable the duplicate the problem then something else is wrong…How can we narrow the problem down?…How do we trobule shoot me getting a crash every time on everyones phone and you not?……How can I send you the login details without posting them for everyone to see?…Thank you again for all your help…Regards, Alan

July 21, 2015 at 10:37 pm #49725Hey,
1. “Can you please call me” – sorry we don’t do phone support.
2. “I would like a refund if I cant get this to fix” – you are certainly entitled to a refund if you choose although I would think by proof of the demo that you would see this is not a theme error but one more related to your site and the plugins/settings you have.
3. “I have spent 50 times what I paid for your theme to get the mobile crashing issues to stop” – Who are you paying money to and why? I would hope you have not spent $2250.00 for nothing?
4. “Oh and yes I installed a cache plugin as you suggested and still crashing problems on many phones” – Looking at your site right now I don’t see either caching plugin (w3 total cache or wp rocket the two I suggested) installed. I see that you have wp super cache which is ok in terms of caching but not great. Considering that it’s taking<!-- Dynamic page generated in 8.093 seconds. -->over 8 seconds for your page to load on mobile I think you should really consider my advice. At the moment I see that your site is really slow on mobile, it’s better on desktop but you have things really slowing down the site on mobile. At this point I strongly recommend you contact your hosting provider to check your error logs.5. “All errors are on mobile devices only and only occur on shop page” As I said above and even tested just now:
I have tested with multiple internet speeds and different mobile devices (iphone4, iphone5, iphone6, samsung note3 using safari and mobile chrome android. Not once has your site crashed for me. (takes a while to load but doesn’t crash) I’ve tried clicking the filter as soon as possible and still nothing crashed.
Can you answer my questions from above?
Can you tell me anything else about your set up that I might be able to see this crash? Are you logged in while on mobile? Are you on a slow wifi or using say 4g?
Finally if you want to send me a login to your site I would be happy to take a look at your settings.

July 20, 2015 at 2:45 pm #49543Hey,
Merging css and js files are best done in a plugin using something like w3 total cache or wp-rocket plugin.Check out the demo score: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/9kGnW/http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/
You always want to focus on page load speed over score anyway. For example run amazon through google page speed.
“accessibility ready” isn’t a set of rules that you can check. In general yes the front end of the site is. The backend theme options panel is not. Some screen readers would have a lot of issues with the options panel.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Social Media (FB not working)
Hannah / Ben,
I just cleared my cache and then attempted to link from the website to my FB page again and still get an error message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.” It is good to know you were able to arrive to it correctly, I am just wondering why I can’t.
Ben,
I am working on a MAC so Safari is my internet browser. I am not sure but I believe I have a pop up blocker automatically installed. ?

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Format Issue: Blog
I have noticed that the formatting on my blog posts are not proper… The only blog type that’s displayed right is text post.
This is what it’s suppose to look like:
But when it’s a picture post the side bar is misplaced and everything is just off. I have tried all the different formats and it still displays like this:
But when it’s a video post everything is placed right, but all the text (besides in the post) is bolded.
This seemed to happen in the past few months and I am on the latest update and I have tried to clear the cache as well, I have tried this on different browsers and it happened on them as well. However, I was able to get a few refreshes on Safari with the proper layout, before I got the issues.
My site’s link is:
*Login to see linkThanks in advanced,
Donald LouchIn forum: Virtue ThemeThanks for pointing me in the right direction Ben. Turns out it is a direct conflict not in the Virtue theme, but with W3 Total Cache plugin minify options. I disabled all minifying and the calendar works correctly. I hope this is helpful to someone else, and I appreciate you helping me figure it out. Here’s the thread about it for reference: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mouse-events-on-the-page-events-of-the-month

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Image Menu
I am having trouble with the image menu description text. I want to have it either left or center aligned, but when I put .home-message h5 {text-align: left;} in the custom CSS box in the theme settings, it doesn’t change. I have cleared my browser several times and have my cache is off, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. When I inspect the element, it is showing text-align: right. Any ideas? Also, when it is hovered over, I don’t want that image to show a color overlay. How is this best accomplished? Thanks so much!

Hi Ben…Thank you for your reply….Yes I am very advanced with computers and understand Cache….It crashes all browsers..Firefox and Safari…Its basically useless on mobile devices because no one can filter my items and click catagories…Go to my site then click the shop page then click filter and quickly pick a category then browser crashes…Crashes 9 out of 10 times..I want to advertise my products but cant because why spend money advertising if 45% of my customers on mobile devices cant shop in my store :-(…Everyday this goes on I lose more and more money…Its a theme issue because the browser never crashes until you click filter and pick a category quickly….Thank you for any help.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Bad Format Error
Hi Ben,
I’ve been trying to update the Virtue theme the past couple of days.I tuned off all the plugins and emptied Chrome’s cache, but I’m getting the following error message:
An error occurred while updating Virtue – Premium: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signatureAny idea what’s causing this?
Thanks,
StephenIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Filter on shop page crashes mobile device browsers
July 17, 2015 at 8:49 am #492371. The image flip doesn’t work on all browsers it’s only going to work on modern browser. One like ie8 are not going to support it. This is written in the options where you enable too.
2. The Filter is a loading issue. Your page load can take up to 30 seconds. I was testing multiple times and most times its pretty quick. Like 2 seconds (would be much better if you used caching like w3 total cache or wp-rocket. But my first access took a long time. If I had to guess I would say you need to increase the max php memory settings in your php. If you click on woocommerce > system tools. What is your max php memory setting?

You would clear your cache from the caching plugin settings. You can update the theme from the wordpress dashboard. Or you can download the latest version here- https://www.kadencewp.com/my-account/

I have cleared my cache and tried updating again. How do you update manually as I have tried to download the pinnacle file again and install but it says error as folder already exists.
Thanks
