I tried a different browser on that machine. No problem. I tried that browser again (without doing anything differently, no cache clear or anything like that) and no error. I’m just going to call this closed for now. Thanks for all your help.

Hey, so I’m trying to make sure I’m following correctly. On your laptop you get an error but on your desktop you don’t? Is that right?

Have you cleared the browser cache in your laptop? Have you tried disabling browser extensions?

(Before we start, I love Kadence themes! I’m on my 9th website using them!)

OK. I’m using the Feed Them Social plugin for an Instagram feed/gallery. When you click on an image, it’s supposed to pop open the image with the description from Instagram. Right now, the image pops open, but with no information. Interestingly, if I click ‘load more’ and load more photos onto the page, everything begins to work fine. I attached two screenshots.

NOTES: I already tried disabling all plugins, so it’s not a plugin issue. When I switched to the 2019 theme, it worked fine, so it seems to be related to the Kadence theme. If you have any suggestions I would be grateful!

    Hello Hannah,

No, I have not added a caching plugin yet, no Cloudflare either.

I am also clearing the cache and doing a hard reload in the inspector to clear out any browser cache, different browsers, etc.

The CSS I added previously is there now, which seems like a caching issue. I since then added a bunch of /* Do you see this Hanna */ comments in the stylesheet, but not seeing them either. Do you see it? If so, maybe it is my cache.

I do not see it here:
    http://www.justfourfeathers.com/wp-content/themes/ascend_premium_child/style.css
    http://www.justfourfeathers.com/wp-content/themes/ascend_premium_child/style.css?ver=1.0

If I change the version I see it:
    http://www.justfourfeathers.com/wp-content/themes/ascend_premium_child/style.css?ver=1.01

The domain is http://www.justfourfeathers.com. I might end up doing the Theme’s Custom CSS box. The child functions file works.

Please let me know if you see all those comments. That will let me know if it is just me, or not.

    Thanks,
    James

    Hello,

I am adding to the child stylesheet, but not seeing any changes. I can see the child stylesheet being called in the source, but it leads to a version of the stylesheet and not the updated one. I thought it was cache, but it is not showing up on other browsers that I have not used as well. Any ideas? The non-versioned file is there.

    Thank you,
    James

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for your help. That CSS works great – thank you!

I have a related query though if I may – I have tried to increase the number of columns shown on the page from 2 to 4 (see screenshot). It shows as expected (i.e. 4-columns wide) if I preview the page within Elementor, however, even after purging my cache it continues to show 2 columns on the site in a fresh incognito tab.

    See https://nicelypersonalised.com/birthday-gifts/

    Thanks
    Paul

    Hey,
I just tested this from my Iphone x in two different browsers and could not duplicate this. What device are you viewing from? Have you cleared your cache?

    Hi Hannah
I have just been back onto https://dev.aecb.net/aecb-expert-advisors/ and first time round Mark Elton was coming up for both himself and Mark Siddell, I then went back in and the 2 Marks are OK but Steven Fawkes is coming up for Peter Warm. Refresh again and Mark Elton is coming up for Eric Parks. It appear to be continually changing and totally random.

That is on Firefox, but I am getting the same randomness on Chrome (which I have not used to visit the page before).

It needs more than just clearing a cache. Is there a way of fixing the ID?

I just tested your site on three different browsers and could not get the issue to repeat. Have you been able to repeat this issue since clearing your cache?

    Hey Mandy,
Have you cleared your cache? Can you post a link?
    Thanks!

Didn’t help. Strange. I looked at Custom CSS and thought perhaps something there was causing it. But I haven’t changed anything. It was working just fine. Then I opened and changed foot image….refreshed…and Instagram widget goes offline…so to speak.

I’m going to remove and reinsert again. Clear cache…again…<laugh> and see what happens.

I will get back to you a bit later.

Thank you. However, if you think of something else…please share. 😉

    Hey,
I’m seeing the parallax working. What browser are you using? Have you cleared your cache?

Have you cleared your cache after making that change? If you want to send login info I would be happy to take a look at your settings. Just set as a private reply.

You have SG Optimizer installed and active, and you have “Dynamic Caching” enabled and is caching the output of the page. That “page cache” is different then browser cache and is why you don’t see the admin bar until you reload. It’s very much a good thing because it means your site isn’t having to re-query everything for every page load.

The theme doesn’t control this, doesn’t affect caching and doesn’t affect the admin bar, also I can’t find anything in the changelog for the latest versions of WordPress that would show something changed with the admin bar.

    I hope that helps!

Are you clearing your cache after making these changes? Have you tried contacting your host to see if they have any insight?

    Hi Ben

Thanks for getting back to me. I don’t believe it is a browser cache issue as I have cleared the cache – it is also there in Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers. I don’t want to provide a login on the forum but if I could have an email address for you I will send one.

    Many thanks

    Andy
