July 27, 2020 at 2:14 pm #253661Hey,
1. You can add this css:.blog_item .subhead { display: none; }I added it.
2. Blog options: Display Blog Grid posts at equal height ( I turned it on for you).
3. that is your h4 setting in the typography settings.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Read more on posts
Hi Hannah, thanks for the update.
I’ve turned off the read more button settings from the Post Grid/Carousel block, and it disappears. ‘Read more’ at the end of the sentence is still there (which is good!), but when I click on it, it doesn’t click to the full document.
This works when I click on the image and the heading. But you can’t click to Read More when you actually click on the text and ‘Read More’ text.
Any tips here?

#1. Post Grid/Carousel block do not have any toggle options for Tags under “Below title Meta”
#2. If post title contains “&”, it shows “&” instead. In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Read more on posts
Hello, I’m using the post grid and there is Read More in text at the end of the excerpt and there is also the Read More button. I jus tone of them to work – not both. The Read More after the text works but only when the button is included – although the button itself doesn’t work. Here’s the link (at the bottom of the page): http://www.frankleggett.com/
ThanksIn forum: Virtue ThemeSorry for the delay, Grace! And sorry for your trouble. I would be happy to help!
You do not need to deactivate the classic editor in order to use Kadence Blocks. You should see an option when creating a new page/post to select the editor you want to use. Do you see that?
As for creating the homepage you’re wanting using Kadence Blocks, you can create a slider (or a static image) using the Row Layout block. Set background for the block (that’s your “slider” image) and then add whatever content you want on top and adjust the padding/margins to get the effect you want. https://www.kadenceblocks.com/row-layout-block/
The icon menu can be created using the info box blocks. Again, add a Row Layout blocks and select the number of columns you want, then add info box blocks to each column. https://www.kadenceblocks.com/info-box-block/
For testimonials, you can use the Kadence Testimonials block. https://www.kadenceblocks.com/testimonial-block/
For the latest posts you can use the Post grid/carousel block. http://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium-10/post-grid-carousel/
I hope this is helpful! Let me know how to best steer you forward.Hannah
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Styling Archive and Search Page
July 17, 2020 at 2:09 pm #253161Thanks, Ben!
1. Ok, I’ll wait to see how it looks once that featured image is available.
2. I’m definitely going to set some custom pages for the ones I want to customize beyond the typical, but it would be great if the “average” archive page also has the option of styling the excerpt text and “read more” link as if it were the post grid block. (Feature request for a future update?). I have plenty of categories and tags (It’s a travel blog, so think of lots of cities and countries around the world! Plus other topics…), so it would be an unreal pain having to create a custom page for each random tag.
3 and 4. Awesome! looking forward to it.
5. I’m guessing I need to keep the say what plugin active for it to work? Or is it a find, replace, and delete the plugin kind of situation? If I have to keep it active, would it be better instead to create a child theme to avoid having a plugin just to change a sentence? Not sure what would be best to keep things lean and performing well.
6. Awesome! I know on the website it says it will come out during the summer, but is there a “guestimate” on when that could be? Just to have an idea on a working and testing timeframe on my side before migrating things to the live site.
Thanks!

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Styling Archive and Search Page
July 17, 2020 at 1:40 pm #253160Hey,
1. You can set a default for archives but there isn’t a way to pull in the latest posts featured image. I plan to add an option in pro to be able to set a “featured” image for each archive. Like a category.2. There are not options for this. Perhaps I can look into adding some but if you are wanting a really custom look might be better to use a custom page and our post grid/carousel block. You can control all of this from there.
3. Search results is getting some of it’s own controls that is part of the next theme update which should be live Monday 🙂
4. ^ Same.
5. You can use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/
https://www.kadencewp.com/knowledge-base/recommended-string-editor-say-what/
6. This is going to be part of the pro theme 🙂

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Styling native Related Posts on Blog Posts
July 17, 2020 at 8:14 am #253133Thanks, Hannah!
I’m currently using Jetpack’s related post feature but I’d like to get rid of Jetpack, which is why I’m looking at Kadence’s related posts.
Ok, so how do I add the Kadence related posts grid block at the end of my posts without having to do it on every single post every time I post? We are talking about over 500 posts and pages that have been published already, so doing this manually on a post by post basis is not an option.
This needs to be added automatically or hooked somehow like every other related posts plugin does.

Hi Norbert,
I think A better solution for you may be to manually add a post grid/carousel block to the end of your posts. That will allow you to style as you’re wanting and you can limit the posts that show to a specific category.
Which other related posts plugin are you using? I would not advise using a plugin and the theme functions. You should use one or the other.
Let me know how to best help further!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeJuly 15, 2020 at 5:08 pm #253053Hey,
If you want elementor to control the archive for your blog then you do that through the theme builder in elementor pro. (looks like you already set that up) you just need to assign that page as your “latest posts” page in the settings reading.
Otherwise if you don’t assign that page and it’s just a static page you can edit it in elementor and add a post grid widget but it won’t give you the same pagination controls.
I hope that helps!

In forum: Kadence BlocksJuly 15, 2020 at 4:17 pm #253046Hi, the Post Grid/Carousel block is unable to select posts individually.
It will just hang there with no selection box.

In forum: Kadence ThemeJuly 10, 2020 at 9:42 pm #252806Hello,
I am setting up the homepage to show latest posts, with number of posts set to one in the wp reading settings.
There is numerical navigation at the bottom with links to previous posts, but the comments are not showing on the single post pages.
I have selected to show comments in the single blog posts options in the customizer.
The comments do show up when selcted from the blog posts in the post grid/carousel block.Second issue.
I am trying to style the navigation links in the pages widget in the posts sidebar to match the style in the primary menu… I can’t find any way to do that in the customizer? Thanks in advance for your help.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Virtue premium Staff Grid
Hi Ben,
I’ve tried setting the Staff Grid template setting to content however the whole content is then displayed and the Read More option no longer works.
I’m atmpting to keep the Staff Grid displays all at an even height and utilise the Read More option to link to the full Staff post whilst maintaining Posts format for the initial text.
Mark.

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Carousel Shortcode Length
Hi Hannah
I did think of that… it works for me but when I hand over to the client I wonder if they will remember 🙂
So there isn’t anything i can put in my child themes functions to override the length?
I was going to use the other post / grid in the kadence blocks but the client really wants a location beside the name of the person at the top and the block doesn’t allow this function.
Thanks, Mel
June 24, 2020 at 9:22 pm #251976Hi I’m using a child theme of the basic Kadence theme ( I’m now thinking I should have used one of your premium themes – so please advise if this can’t be done with the basic theme). I am using gutenberg blocks, with Kadence blocks.
So, I have set the homepage to display latest posts – set to max of 3.
*Login to see linkI Like the style of this display and would like to create an archive page with similar style – probably with smaller post boxes, with pagination links. Tried creating an archive page with the post grid block, but don’t see how I can get the pagination?
As an alternative, I’d could use a widget that shows posts by year – this blog has a lot of posts from early 2000’s through to 2013 and is now being revived and used again. So, the archive monthly widget is a very awkward interface since there may only be one per month. Anyway, if there is a way to setup a year drop down, the display seems to use the same style as the blog posts on the home page. You can see the archive widget on a past page here:
