    Hey,
    You should see a Testimonials tab in your dashboard. You can add your testimonials there, then display them by using the testimonial grid page layout. Or else the testimonial carousel widget.
    If you don’t see this options make sure Testimonial Posts is turned on in Theme Options > Theme Extensions.

    Hello Kadence’s team!

    I’m (finally) starting to translate bits of a primary French Website, using WPML. Unfortunately, most of the Virtue theme shortcodes aren’t rendering in the translated page. For exemple,

    in english

    In both I use (editing in text window).
    [blog_grid columns=2 type=post cat=team]

    Same problems with other shortcodes: [blog_posts orderby=date cat=news]…
    Any suggestion?

    Thanks!

    #146091

    Hey,
    Yes. If you’ve created categories and assigned posts to them then by default you already have post category pages. You can link to theme from your menu (Appearance > Menus). You could also create a page and use the blog or blog grid page template and under the blog options, you can select a blog category.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Georgiy,
    One option would be to use the feature page template then add your blog posts via shortcode like this: [blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=3]
    Would that work for you?

    We have set the display order to Random but this is not happening – the items display in the same order every time

    #144371

    Frank it really is super helpful if you can post a link to your site…

    Making an assumption I’m going to guess you have turned on width to be 1440 max width. Columns are defined on a 1140 max width grid so if you’ve set the max width to 1440 in your theme options > layout settings just change your column setting to 3 which will be 4 on larger screen sizes where 1140 is used.

    Hi, I am using the page from a template set up as an Archive page to serve as my “Places” page ie where I want to list the countries relating to my blog posts. It is however not visually appealing and I would like to do something either with this page, or develop a new page to serve this purpose – I will be adding quite a few new countries as I post more so it is good that it is a dynamic page. I was thinking perhaps an image grid with an image for each country, but open to suggestions.
    Thanks

    In a child theme functions.php file you can add a function like this:

    add_action( 'kadence_post_grid_small_excerpt_header', 'custom_post_header_category', 25 );
    function custom_post_header_category() {
    echo '<div class="kt_subhead_category">';
    the_category('|');
    echo '</div>';
    }

    #143506

    I have a child theme set up and would like to customize the blog grid template for the blog page(not home) – blog grid 3 column and 4 column layout.

    What is the best way to place the name of the category underneath the title in the post excerpt subhead? I see how to simply remove the tooltips/icons, but how do you recommend adding in the category name, also as a text link> linking to category page?

    #142896

    1. You’ll need to use a plugin, since there is no built in functionality to do this within the theme. I’m not really sure if this one will accomplish what you want, but it appears to have the functionality you’re after:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/subscribe-to-comments-reloaded/

    2. Your blog was displaying as a grid before, so the previous CSS was for that. This CSS should do the trick:

    .kad_blog_item .postfooterarea {
        display: none;
    }

    #142892

    Hi Kevin

    1. I mean the “leave a reply” at the bottom of the page. I want to add a tick box so people can opt-in to my email list at the moment they leave a comment: https://www.theinspirationcloud.com/mooning/

    2. The CSS did not remove the line: https://www.theinspirationcloud.com/category/natural-health/ . I do want my post grids to display at equal height. I am using the minimum number of words in an excerpt, 20, but if there is CSS that can reduce it even more, I would love to know.

    Thanks for your help! I’ll separate my questions in the future!

    Bonne journée!

    #142879

    1. Please link to an example of this so that I can see what you’re referring to.

    2. You can remove the line with this CSS:

    .blog_item.grid_item .postcontent footer {
        display: none;
    }

    Since you have all of the blog posts set to display at equal heights, the space will always be present as long as you have different length excerpts for the posts. Go to Theme Options> Blog Settings, and find “Display Blog Grid posts at equal height.” Disable this and the space should be removed.

    3. The image you were using shows up cropped with dimensions of 848×400, so something around that ratio will likely be best.

    5. I don’t think that there is any reasonably easy way to get your menu to display below the logo in Pinnacle, but as I said, Ben or Hannah will let us know when they see this thread. It can be accomplished in Virtue easily though. I’ll flag this thread so that Ben will see it as soon as possible.

    In the future, please separate your questions into individual threads and you’ll get quicker responses. It’s much easier for the questions to be seen by everyone if they are separate.

    Thanks,
    -Kevin

    Several questions regarding the Customize option and some overlapping of rows.

    In Appearance > Customize > Home Page Layout > Home Page Payout there are 9 “modules” listed, 4 of which have been checked. I think by default from the Ascend Premium “Shopping Demo.” The 9 are:

    Home Widget Area
    Product Carousel Tabs
    Page Content
    Latest Blog Posts
    Image Menu
    Icon Menu
    Portfolio Carousel
    Portfolio Grid
    Custom Carousel

    The first 4 boxes are checked, so they display. The instructions for these modules are:

    Homepage Layout Manager
    Check box to enable and sort for output order (Top First). (bold is my emphasis)

    I assume that means I can drag and drop to re-order them. However, whenever I try to make the Product Carousel Tabs on the top and make Home Widget Area second, it doesn’t allow it. I can save it and it looks right for a bit, but when I leave and come back or refresh my home page, it is back the way it started, with Home Widget Area on top.

    I tried dragging the Home Widget Area all the way to the bottom. It seemed to be correct. I saved and published. Went to another tab in Chrome refreshed the home page and it was right back to the top again.

    site:

    Which brings up another question. Is there a way to control the height of the “Product Carousel Tabs”?

    I am also noticing an overlap of a row on top of another row. I have set the row to full width, but it still does not go all the way across. If you scroll down to just below the “testimonial row” you can see part of the next row overlays the testimonial row. So the grayish-blue of the image (this is the Hero widget I asked about earlier and found, thanks) is on top of the dark blue from the testimonial row. /Bob DeCloss

    Sorry no that doesn’t help as I need the blog posts and pages to remain white NOT transparent

    It’s JUST the portfolio’s that I need on the grid page to not have a white background. That’s why I uploaded transparent images!

    HI BEN,

    Thanks for your help i have managed to adjust the blog image size, but why you don’t recommended it?

    .home .kad_blog_item .grid_item .imghoverclass {
    max-height: 200px;
    overflow:hidden;
    }

    is there any side effect to other pages or other blog post?

    i have more than 7 products in one of my product categories and i want them to show in only one row. is that any css coding to force them so that the products can auto slide in a certain of time like in “FEATURED PRODUCTS”

    thanks for your valuable help
