I am trying to create a home page hero image (no topbar, no header, no footers).

    Here is what I did.

    1. Reset all Ascend theme options to default.

    2. Add new page (did not publish yet).

    3. Selected PageBuilder editor.

    4. Created one column row.

    5. Added SiteOrigin Hero widget to that row.

    6. Edit Hero widget.

    a. Added one frame.
    b. Added Content – Shelter Smart The Sky Isn’t The Limit
    c. Below Buttons addded a background image in Background.
    d. Clicked Done.

Changed no other parms in the hero widget options (found at

    7. Publish.

    8. Clear cache.

    9. Go to

At this point the page displays a header, page title, small image, above footer, and footer areas.

My goal is to simply have a single hero image displayed with buttons linking to other parts of the website.

    Thanks for your help.

Did you clear your cache after making the change? If not, try that and let me know if it makes a difference.

Hi, I cleared the cache and still don’t see the video. It only shows a little question mark icon. However, I checked on another computer and the video plays, but it has the little question mark icon in the middle of the video. Do you see the icon when you play the video?

    Hi Carolina,
I’m seeing it working in Safari. Have you cleared your cache?

    Hi Kevin,

i’m talking about the product title here: http://museum-shop.o-zen.de/shop/

The site is not cached jet, i used private window in FF, IE & Chrome.
    The inspector shows:

    .shopcolumn1 .product_item .product_archive_title {
        font-size: 22px;
    }

    … in all browsers.
I’m not having a problem changing it in custom CSS, i was just wandering if this is normal.

    Thank you

    Hey Anders,

    1. I’m seeing the font display as 26px. Did you clear your cache after changing the font size?

    2. I’m not sure how to go about this one. I’ll flag this for a developer followup so that he can tell us how.

    Hi Ben,
In the meantime I left the Plugin ‘Kadence Woocommerce Extras’ deactivated and at least the pictures were displayed.
I asked the hoster for changing permissions on the server, but he answered he can’t help me with that and that the only solution were to migrate the domain (but that is something I can’t do).

Today I did the updates for about 7 Plugins (one of them Woocommerce and also the German Add-on Woocommerce Germanized) and now again most of the gallery pictures are gone. For example https://iiamo.com/product/drinking-bottle-iiamo-sport/
But it’s strange that when clicking on the ‘?’ of the missing pictures, the pictures is loaded!
I already deactivated all the Plugins one by one and always deleted the cache with Autooptimize.

    Screenshots
    1) Without Kadence WC Extras: Most of the gallery pictures vanished

2)Kadence WC Extras activated: also the main product picture can’t be displayed

    3) Clicking on one of the missing pictures it is pops up:

    Thank you for helping

Make sure to add something to your cart for the cart sessions cache to update.

    Hey,
So one thing to be clear on after caching (test logged out) the speed will change because it will cache all the server responses and you should see a big improvement.

If when logged in your seeing a really slow site this means your server is call it “value” where it’s working hard to process the site. Even blue host basic shared packages are not like this so it’s worth stating now that having a good host even if it’s not expensive can make a huge difference. There are some things that can help with a host that has a hard time processing a lot of plugins or settings. Start by making sure your host is using php7. That is something you can talk to your host about.

Next have them check your php resource settings, Make sure your max memory is above 100mb. Then have them monitor your site. If there was a process that got stuck and started requiring more resources it’s possible your host is even throttling the server which means you just need to clear that process that got stuck.

To give you specific answers to your questions:

Did it happen before with some of your clients?

Only for those coming from a very basic theme like twenty ten and using a very very old outdated server. Usually, it’s just a matter of either updating the server or changing which plugins are running to keep a low end server working. With caching even the worse servers can still work for the people viewing the site because it’s not having to rebuild the page each time.

Should I reinstalled the Kadence Virtue Theme and all of the Kadence plugin?

no. that won’t change anything. You don’t need to restore anything as this isn’t likely due to content but instead your server.

I am trying to change the title font on that one page using the page edit screen. I have set it to 50, updated the page, checked (by doing another edit page in a completely different browser) that this setting has been recorded, and cleared the cache in both browsers. The page still shows the title in 130px font.

    #178550

    Hello Anthony,

Where are you changing this? That title should be controlled in Theme Options> Typography Settings, your H1.

If the setting has been adjusted there, also take a look in the page edit screen as this can be overridden for each page. See here:
    http://docs.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium/page-title-subtitle-settings/

Be sure that you’re clearing your cache after making each change. Let me know what you find.

    Good Morning,
We are experiencing an issue with our website, http://www.ussolarmounts.us. This issue has been going on for a couple of months and we can’t seem to fix it.
Our home page displays correctly, but as soon as you click on any other page, the display shows our menus dropped down vertically with all of the page content down at the bottom. To temporarily fix this, i deactivate any random plugin and delete the cache and it seems to fix it. However, a few days later, the same issue occurs and fixes itself when i go and reactivate the plugin. It doesn’t seem to matter which plugin it is. I called our hosting company to see what they said and they said it is definitely a theme issue, and it could be that the theme is not communicating with the newest version of wordpress or one of the plugins is giving us problems. However, I can’t find out which plugin in particular since as soon as i deactivate any one plugin and delete the cache, the problem goes away. If you need to go into the dashboard, let me know and i can get you login info.

    Thank you!

Never mind…I catorigorized the two items that were uncategorized, cleared our host cache and problem solved : )

    Thanks for your help!!

    Hi,

Yesterday, I installed Kadence Virtue on my existing Web site. As soon as the theme was installed, the speed went down dramatically. I checked with my hosting provider and everything is OK on his side. I deactivated all the plugin and only reactivate the necessary plugin afterward. The speed got a little better but it is still very slow. I installed WP Cache plugin in order to help but it still takes 5-6 second to display a page (it used to be 1 or 2 seconds previously).

The web site is http://www.nj-albert.com. Did it happen before with some of your clients? Can you see the problem in checking my web site?

Should I reinstalled the Kadence Virtue Theme and all of the Kadence plugin? Do you have a tutorial to help a complete reinstallation of your theme and plugin? Yesterday I invest 12 hours of work in order to correct all of the new content.

The second solution would be to use on my previous backup, reinstall Kadence and redo all of the content correction.

The third solution : Use the backup, install Kadence and use your Kadence “Export/Import” tool to upload the new content. Would it work?

    I really need your help,

    Hello Sari,

Did you clear your site’s cache after making the change? If so, can you post a temp login in a private reply so that I can take a look at the page settings?

    #178305

    You can use https://postimages.org/

But can you verify that you are clearing your cache? Can you tell me what that means to you because that is super important. Your server is adding caching and unless you clear it and understand how it works you are going to have issues of seeing old pages all the time.

From the link I posted above it’s not just me that is not seeing errors your site pinged from other servers shows it’s working fine.
