In reply to: one portfolio grid page not updating
Hello again,
A little bit of feedback here. I haven’t solved completely this issue, though I made some progress 🙂
So, I was indeed using a cache plugin, and it seems that it was causing the issue. Although I’d deleted it, some code was left in my .htaccess file, as well as in my config file… Once deleted, the bug ‘tends’ to disappear, yet reappearing sometimes. I’m not sure, but I think (also not making much sense) that there is a correlation between the bug reappearance (portfolio grid page not updating + forced admin frequent log out) and I using duplicated css ids by mistake in different portfolio items.
Hope that might help others with similar issues.Cheers,
Laurent

January 19, 2015 at 10:12 am #27931Hi Ben,
You don’t see the h1 breadcrumbs because, I just noticed, it happens when I am logged in as admin, even after clearing the cache. The error does not happen with guest user.
In summary: If I login with admin in chrome, I see a ” /> after the featured image. If I login with admin in ie, the page is all crashed.
Can I email you my admin password?

January 19, 2015 at 10:10 am #27927You haven’t turned minify on? What have you activated in w3 total cache?
You are also using wordfrence and it looks like it’s severely slowing down your admin-ajax file. You might want to try deactivating that.

January 18, 2015 at 3:29 pm #27870Hi Hanna, thanks for checking. So I cleared cache and in Chrome, I can only see the rich editor when I am logged out, but I cant see the “add media button” in chrome (I can see it in IE). If i am admin or guest, I see no editor. I see it like this:
http://es.tinypic.com/r/mvg7td/8It woks fine in internet explorer though. I will keep testing. Thanks for checking

January 15, 2015 at 3:35 pm #27681Hey,
Since your are using w3 total cache you made need to clear your cache to show changes. It should auto clear if you click the update button but if your on the preview url try clicking to clear your cache in the w3 total cache dropdown in your admin bar.Ben

January 15, 2015 at 2:31 pm #27672Hey you seem to have the w3 total cache plugin installed but on debug mode? It’s not running at least.
virtue.css should be minified with all your css so it’s one load, if you turn on minify in w3 total cache your should be good.
Ben

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Forcing browsers to refresh
January 14, 2015 at 2:04 pm #27601If you have people viewing your site currently you can’t force it to refresh for them. But if your using total cached and your clear all caches it would mean if the viewer clicked onto your page they would have the latest cache.

January 13, 2015 at 10:01 pm #27527Hey,
1 & 2 – you seem to be using “wp fastest cache”. the problem is isn’t breaking all the javascript. Could be that you have an older version cached or that it’s just not a good plugin and has errors… I really recommend using w3 total cache.3. What images are not loading retina? What page.
How large are the images your uploading?Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Registering not working
Hello,
I got an issue with the registering on my eCommerce page. Every time I click on “My account” it gives me the option to register using email and password. I fill in both but then it just refreshes the same page and nothing happens. I’ve tried to search and quickly learned that a lot of people are having the same issue as me, but they’re using a different theme. It might be something with the cache remembering, but I’m not quite sure how to change such thing.
I’m using the newest version of WooCommerce 2.2.10 and Virtue Theme 2.7.8 and I’ve disabled all pluging trying to disable the page for new users.
Besides that I also made sure that WordPress allows new users to register and the same thing with WooCommerce.*Login to see link

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: A couple of issues
January 10, 2015 at 10:12 pm #27247If your having trouble using w3 total cache then I would contact your host. They may have a recommended set up. Or even one for super cache.
Admin ajax loading slow in my experience is server related. It’s always going to be your longest loading script when you use woocommerce but some servers are a lot faster then others.
One of the things that seems to be taking it a long time is: admin-ajax.php?mode=is_user_logged_in
and that it likely caused by a plugin your using. Might even be super cache.
I’ll note I don’t have a 10 second wait while browsing your site.

hi ben,
i have taken off the jetpack photon. 🙂 I was on w3 total cache and have just changed to wp super cache as w3 total cache wasnt minifying properly and load time was really bad with them. this is the fastest i have got it so far. If the actually load speed was under 2 seconds i wouldnt mind, but in reality its like waiting for paint to dry whilst it thinks about loading – easily 10seconds or more before it responds to move away from the page.
I am on a shared server, but i didnt have this problem with my old site and i know your theme is excellent for its loading times. looking further in to the pingdom tests it seems to be something called admin-ajax.php. i did some research and they say it is something to do with wordpress heartbeat? Any advice?
Katie

test is again please!
I deleted all in the css, rebuild the HTACCESS file, empty again the cache and synchronized the files with my cdn folder.
Now it was working for FireFox, Crome, Opera and IE 8 and 9 but not foe IE 10 and 11.any solution for this?
Thanks Josef
