March 24, 2020 at 10:35 pm #246727I cleared the cache and that did not solve the issue.
I turned off the Optimize Javascript code option and the tabs worked correctly.
When I turned on the Optimize Javascript Code option and did not enable the Aggregate JS-files option, the tabs worked correctly.
When I enabled the Aggregate JS-files option, the tabs stopped working. Here is a link to a test page on my site with a tab block. I currently have the Aggregate JS-files option enabled.

Hi John,
Sorry for the delay!
1. Are you just wanting a two-column layout for your product archives? In Theme Options > Shop Settings you can set the “Shop Product Column Layout” to Two Column.2. There isn’t a default way to show only subcategories above your product archive. You would need to display that shortcode above your products in your shop page and homepage. Just be sure that you’re clearing your cache.
3. Try using this css:
.product-category.grid_item a h5:hover { background: rgba(155,155,155,.8); }4. Looks like the slider already is a single column on mobile. What exactly are you wanting to change?

I apologise but I just can’t resolve these things below, even with hours of searching and a lot of trial and error. I appreciate your support and I only come here when I’m absolutely stuck; now I’ve got my questions and answers in the forum to look back on in the future.
1/ I need the product columns (without side bar) to be 50%/50% because of how all the images were handed to me., and as a very temporary solution have added content-single-product.php to the virtue child theme and changed the if statement to 6 | 6.
Is there a correct way that I can achieve this?
2/ I’ve read *Login to see link carefully, but can’t arrive at a solution.
I have one parent category, with eventually 5 sub-categories in it and I don’t want the parent on the home page or in the shop page, just the sub-cats.
I put this on the home page page.. [product_categories parent=”104″] it didn’t seem to work, but now 12 hrs later it seems to be working (new ISP seems to have an aggressive cache that I just can’t beat).
If that shortcode is correct, then now, I just need to display the sub-cats on the shop page without the parent, followed by products.
3/ I’m trying to make the text overlay on the sub-cats to be a specific color (same as hover) but I just can’t do it. Inspect says it’s:
.product-category.grid_item a h5 { color: #ce0000; background-color: #ce0000; } but that doesn’t work.
4/ The Best Selling Products carousel?, home page on a mobile is cluttered by the bottom product detail, is there any way to show this sliding as a one whole image at a time on a mobile?Thank you, John

March 21, 2020 at 9:50 pm #246565Hey,
That page is considerably faster. Not everything is about the google score you need to focus first on actual page speed. get that low (less then a second is ideal) and then tweak to make google page speed happy. Unforutanly you will never get a great score as long as you use
pagead2.googlesyndication.com: 4 components, 357.9K (135.0K GZip) www.google-analytics.com: 1 component, 45.2K (18.1K GZip) adservice.google.com: 1 component, 0.1K (0.1K GZip) partner.googleadservices.com: 1 component, 0.1K (0.1K GZip) googleads.g.doubleclick.net: 3 components, 10.5K (4.6K GZip) www.googletagservices.com: 1 component, 75.4K (27.9K GZip) widget.getyourguide.com: 1 component, 15.2K (10.4K GZip) www.facebook.com: 2 components, 0.1K tpc.googlesyndication.com: 2 componentsAll of those add dns lookups to files that are not in your control (not cached, not cookieless). If you want a high near-perfect score (again not everything is about the score) then you can’t use those things. This is where you make decisions about what’s more important.
For example, Amazon runs a purely mobile site different from the desktop so it’s more optimized for mobile and not loading anything that applies to desktop browsers. Their using the best technology and their google speed test for mobile is 57.
The point in the speed test is about best practices in an “ideal” situation, an ideal situation doesn’t have you loading ads and scripts from other servers.
So again I suggest the first thing to focus on is load time. That is what matters in the end with users, are they getting the content fast enough and can you improve that. On the page, you recently linked to it’s not a bad load time.
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.unaufschiebbar.de/nNp2MOroTo fully loaded your at 2.3 and that isn’t bad since the site becomes readable and interactive at less than a second. Compare that with your home page (where the only difference is the images) 4.9s to fully loaded. Hopfully that explains why I would suggest you start there and focus there, you will get the most return in terms of improvement. A note about the plugin I recommended, it’s important that you not use rocket lazy load if you use that plugin, you can turn off rocket lazy load in the settings.
The main area where you can improve your score is to remove all the scripts from outside sources that track, and dynamically render ads based on the user. Likely that isn’t something will want to do or can do.
The other thing you can do is deactivate plugins, you are using a lot and so if you want a higher score you can limit what you are using. Try to find plugin that are not absolutely necessary.
I hope that helps explain some.

March 21, 2020 at 9:12 pm #246560I just activated and the plugin and it worked fine. I deactivated for you but please let me know what was happening. I tested in multiple browsers. Had you made sure to clear our cache after activating?

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Ascend: Topbar Menu Layout (Right and Left)
No apologies necessary, Hannah.
The code did not work. I cleared cache. What is doing is placing the widgets on top of each other on the right side of topbar.
I want one widget to the left and the other to the right.
I think what I’m just going to do is place the Subscribe button in topbar and use everything else in the header and stick it.
Thank you,

To clarify; the correct slider still shows up, but the issues described in my original post are still happening on all browsers.-

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Page speed, caching plugins and Woocommerce
March 10, 2020 at 1:06 pm #245967Hey,
If you are going to consider upgrading hosting you need to consider moving away from a shared environment and to a managed hosting.Your issue with needing to clear your cache doesn’t make much sense to me, if you have to clear it frequently so that prices show correctly for other users then you should have to clear it all the time, else every 15 minutes it would be set by whoever accesses the site first. The logic doesn’t make sense to me.
If you can’t support page caching because of some configuration you are using then that is a real problem for speed and you need to consider getting the highest-end managed service if you want to compete to get a low loading time. That server must have good Redis database caching (not something that is usually part of shared servers).
Kinsta has a Sidney data center.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Blog post won’t load
Hello
Post is not loading on the /home/ or /blog/ on most browsers.
Cleared cache on site, in browsers (multiple), tested on ios and android and Win 10.
There’s a console error, but I don’t see a solution for it.
Please advise
