I have the same issue. I didn’t work for me to clear the cache. Can you help?

    #193604

    Hey,
The theme has nothing to do with how W3 Total Cache runs and wouldn’t cause any issues. Yes your server is the issue if you are getting 500 Internal Server Error. You need to see if your host supports W3 Total Cache or perhaps consider getting a better host if your not getting help from them.

    Hello,

Try clearing your cache if you haven’t already.

    Does that make a difference?

I’m seeing the CSS take effect. Did you clear your cache after adding it?

    #193547

Ok, now everything (seems to) work fine, but installing W3 Total Cache gives 500 Internal Server Error.
So is the problem still on server or on the theme?

    Yours,
    Milla

    Hi,

I think we’ll switch to ShortPixel then.

By the way, is ShortPixel’s WebP-Support also supported by Virtue? Do you use or can recommend it? I am asking on
    https://blog.shortpixel.com/how-webp-images-can-speed-up-your-site/ it says:

UPDATE – Direct solution: Now you can use the WebP format by simply checking the corresponding “Generate WebP markup” option in the advanced settings tab of Short Pixel and all your tags will be replaced with <picture> tags that include also the .webp images, thus letting the browser chose the best version according to its capabilities. The <picture> tag contains also anGenerate WebP markup tag for fallback reasons, thus also allowing the styles to remain in place. In some rare cases – when the styling of your images relies on positional querries ( :first, :nth-child selectors or “>” direct child reference ) you might encounter style problems when activating this option and you will need to use the cache plugin solution below.

and, well, replacing <img> markup with picture does sound like something where a lot of CSS and also the lazy-loading stuff could go wrong?

    Hi
I don’t know if it was a caching issue but I deleted the minify plugin as I don’t necessarily see its value.
I haven’t been running cache as on so.

The issue didn’t immediately correct when I had removed the minify but interestingly when I re-activated a deactviated ‘Add Custom CSS’ plugin- it stopped the problem. But then when I deactivated that again the problem did not occur (as in it wasn’t related to the use of any custom CSS in that way).

    Perhaps I did force a cache-nudge somewhere?
The issue now seems to be solved.
    Thanks
    Tim

    Hey,
Can you send me a login so I can take a look. Can you make sure to clear your cache and minify plugin.

    Ben

    Hey,
As near as I can tell you have a htaccess setting or something else added by a plugin or server redirecting the category slug to be removed.
likely it’s thinking it’s a post category and which it shouldn’t have the slug at all.

My top guess is wordfence, It does a ton of crazy things. But could also be related to your SSL plugin ( I really don’t suggest using those).

Either way I suggest you deactivate all your plugins and clear your cache one by one. Or be ok with using any other slug then category. You can use shop/category for example.

I have been getting some strange encounters over the past week or so within Ascend Pagebuilder, particularly on homepage. It seems today to be happening on more pages now. Here are some screenshots. When I exit page or log out, and go back in it acts normal. I also close the browser clearing all cache.

It is all erratic when it happens, and even happened when clicking Media Library. What do you think is going on?

Yes, I am using the theme contact form. I just opened the page up and now it seems to be working. Perhaps last night I was looking at a cached page.

    Hey,

I just tested this setup on my site and it did not have this issue. The first thing that I would try is enabling the parent theme to see if the row displays properly when it is active.

If that doesn’t work, I would begin testing your plugins by deactivating one by one, seeing if the gallery works when a certain plugin is OFF.

Be sure to clear your cache after making the changes.

Let me know if you find anything.

Those types of calls usually can’t be cached so it comes down almost directly to your hosting provider. But there are others, for example, are you getting live shipping prices? If so the wait could be on getting a response from that source.

I suggest you check your php error logs to start. Confirm there isn’t anything get hung.

Then test with any shipping or payment gateway plugins disable. Those plugins have to ping other servers so it’s worth seeing if thats in part the delay.

If you still have the same issue then it could be some issue with your server and the woocommerce ajax calls and in that case you would just need to talk with the hosting provider.

From Google’s developer tools console I get the following for three of my older Virtue websites:
(index):110 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
    at (index):110
    (anonymous) @ (index):110

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1

    Highlighted script of error:
    }</style> <script type=”text/javascript”>jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {var magnificPopupEnabled = false;$.extend(true, $.magnificPopup.defaults, {disableOn: function() {return false;}});});</script> </div> <script type=”text/javascript” defer src=”

This is happening on http:specialistfinishes.com.au, and which are my oldest Virtue sites. All sites are setup the same for autoptimize plugin. None of the other Virtue nor any Pinnacle sites are showing this error. Can you help please?

    Hello,

This doesn’t seem to be something that’s being output by the theme. The first thing I recommend is clearing your site’s cache to see if the area disappears then. After that, deactivating your plugins one by one to see if there is a change when a certain plugin is OFF would be your next step.

Also make sure that there is no unwanted JavaScript in Theme Options> Header/Footer Scripts.

Let me know if you find anything.

Thanks for the answers. Very much appreciated and very helpful. Looking at this, we’ll probably go with https://wordpress.org/plugins/imagify/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/rocket-lazy-load/ then.

https://wp-rocket.me/ itself is interesting, but our hosting already includes a varnish cache and all other kinds of nicenesses, so if these two above work nicely, we’ll just use them to keep the complexity of the size as low as possible.

Let me know if you have any more thoughts on this.
