In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: favicon not working…?
June 6, 2018 at 11:47 am #192299I see your head broke still and no favicon. browser will cache a favicon so you should try in a different browser.
The output of your broken head is a little different on each site, Both are broken and you should not have a broken head but on your freshfoliodesign site the break happens a little later and that keeps your favicon loading.

Ben,
It’s not that I don’t trust you; I’m trying to understand the discrepancy about it working on one site, but not the other.
I took out the FB Pixel Code and the WP Like Button Plug-in, cleared the cache and refreshed. That caused the favicon to reappear.
I then put the FB Pixel info back in and the favicon remained. Then I reactivated the WP Like Button, cleared the cache and refreshed. The favicon stayed in place.
What does the header look like now?
Thanks,

Your second post is correct. Once the thumbnails are regenerated, your page speed should be where it was before. I’m not sure if loading the page will make it regenerate the thumbnails anymore quickly though.
I’m sure comet cache is a fine plugin. For more tips, we have a great post on how to improve site speed here:
https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/And for optimizing images, this guide should come in handy:

Thank you, Kevin. When you say it’s going to take a while for the first load, do you mean the first time the pages are ever loaded, anywhere, such that if we go through an load all the pages ourselves, then from then on they will all be fast again for everyone everywhere? Or do you mean it will be slow for anyone, the first time they load the page?
When you refer to using caching, do you mean by way of a plugin like Comet Cache? If so, is that the one you recommend, or do you have a different recommendation?
In forum: Ascend ThemeIn forum: Ascend ThemeNo, I don’t have a cache running. And Yes, I still have the portfolio grid checked in Homepage layout for now. It looks like unchecking portfolio grid is best on homepage layout and adding the [portfolio_types] and image for the 7 categories with a link to either the portfolio and/or the shop. What widget do I use to insert the shortcode on the homepage?
He has 15 years of commissioned pieces and other products. So, the portfolio may have 100 images or more. If he wants them all there, it would be nice to separate the images by category. Or maybe could I do a slideshow per category?
The Shop will only have those items he is selling. Not certain how many yet.
In forum: Ascend ThemeHello,
1. The portfolio can be used however you want. Think of it as a way to show what your client is capable of, such as previous works and acknowledgements. You can also disable in entirely if you please. There is no definitive way to use the portfolio, it’s totally up to you.
Portfolio posts and products are distinctly different though, and I do not advise building your store with portfolio posts.
2. I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. You can display portfolio types by adding this shortcode to a page:
[portfolio_types]
You will need to assign each type a featured image. More shortcode options can be found here:
http://docs.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium/shortcodes/3. It looks to me as though you have the portfolio enabled still in Theme Options> Home Page Layout> Portfolio Grid. Do you have a cache running on your site? be sure that you clear it after making changes or disable it entirely while developing your site.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Graphic Menu Items have disappearred
Ben,
Yes, that’s the plug-in. What CSS would you use to place a graphic in the navigation?
If you look at the Google Chrome Inspect tool, you can see that the link is supposed to be there (to the left of the “Shop” button on Rebeccagallagher.com and to the left of the “Hire Us” button on freshfoliodesign.com.
The Menu Image plug-in had an update this morning, but it still didn’t address the issue (I cleared caches, but no difference). I don’t think the problem is theme specific because the review comments consistently refer to this problem recently.
I really want to use the logos for the navigation. How can I accomplish that?
Thanks,

Hi Ben,
Thank you for the quick response. They basically just started blaming the theme and plugins, nothing specific and just sent over that message I included in the first post. The https:// site for me currently just shows up blank with no content (I have cleared caches to no end). Thank you for the help, I will have to go back to them again and see what they can do.

May 29, 2018 at 3:55 pm #191526Hey,
If the row is there and has content in your admin then it should show on the front end. You are using something called : Endurance Page CacheThis is totally different and completely separate from your browser’s cache. This is a cache on your server. It’s possible that cache is not being cleared. That would make sense if your not able to see changes you’ve made to a page take effect.
So I suggest either clearing that plugins cache or removing it while your developing.
If after clearing that cache you still can’t see changes you’ve made to a page please send me a login to your site using the check box for Set as private reply and I can take a look at your settings.

May 29, 2018 at 10:08 am #191482Hey,
You’re loading your css through autoptimize and that plugin builds a copy of all your css into a new file that is cached. It possible that just needs to be cleared. If this is happening often or consistently then I would stop using autoptimize for its minify settings. It could just be that some setting on your server is stopping it from working like it should.Ben
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeMay 29, 2018 at 7:51 am #191466Since updating to WordPress 4.9.6 I can no longer edit posts on my mobile devices (iPad Air, iPhone 7). Once I have interacted with the text I can no longer scroll the screen, preventing me from making any formatting changes. If I get out of the text editing field I can scroll the screen again.
I have dumped cache and deactivated TineyMCE plugins. Are there any Kadence related plugins that interact with TineyMCE that I should try deactivating? Or do you guys have any other suggestions?
I have also posted this question on WordPress.org forums and submitted it as a bug.
