In forum: Virtue ThemeHey Ben and Hannah.
My website is getting a little slow, and i want to make sure, that the website is as fast as all others out there.
I´ve read the “need for speed” guide, and i have already improved my loading time from 9,50 seconds to 3 seconds. But im still not satisfied, because many other homepages are having a loadtime below 1 second, which is my goal.I´ve tried to setup some caching by installing WP Super Cache, and i followed a youtube guide for how to set it up, but i still score low in “caching” “Leverage Browser Caching” 29/100. What do I need to do, do score better in caching, besides installing this plugin?
Then i get a score on 0/100 in “Defer parsing of JavaScript”, but i´ve dont know anything about JavaScript and the use of JavaScript on my site is very limited, so I dont really understand how my JavaScript can be that bad for my loading time?
Last, but not least, i get a score of 44/100 in “specify image dimensions”. I´ve uploaded some images with high resolution, like 7000px. But at the time i uploaded the images i didn’t knew about resizing. Now i need to scale down ALL my images on my homepage, (i guess?), because the images are way bigger than whats optimal. Is there an easier way for me to fix this problem, than by manually taking every photo out of WP library, resizing all images 1 by 1 and then upload them to wordpress again?
– Thanks in advantage

March 29, 2016 at 11:47 pm #88302I’m not sure what popup you are referring to? You should always be able to clear your cache but when adding a variation or attribute I don’t get a popup?
I’m using chrome. Can you send me a login so I can see what you mean?

March 29, 2016 at 1:31 pm #88234Hey,
so there is js that powers that plugin. From what I can see it’s not firing correctly. Could be do to a conflict with some js elsewhere not loading do to a minify or cache.Do a quick test through and preview your site with normal twenty fourteen theme. Check that page and see if it loads.

March 29, 2016 at 1:04 pm #88224Depends on the cache. I don’t know what they are using if anything. Could also just be browser cache. If godaddy is adding a cache you would need to ask them.

I guess not! But even before disabling the plugin (WP Fastest Cache), the problem seemed to have resolved itself. My slider looks fine. Any tips on how to prevent this from happening again would be very helpful. I would like to be able to use a caching plugin, after all. Thanks.

March 29, 2016 at 11:07 am #88185w3 total cache minify is on. And it’s delaying jquery which is your issue. Minify is tricky depending on what plugins you’re using. For now I would suggest deactivating as your building then once it’s done you will need to test through what options can work based on the plugins you’re using.
You may have to manually minify and make sure jquery still loads quickly on the page.

March 29, 2016 at 11:01 am #88183Hey,
1. Select white for hover color.2. So once the cache clears you won’t see it. Jetpack doesn’t have options for this.
3. Ok let me know.

March 29, 2016 at 10:44 am #88177Hey,
I am seeing both on your site right now?I see that you are using “WP-Super-Cache” you would have to clear that cache after every change.

Yes, I disabled Jetpack Mobile Theme. I can’t see any mobile theme on my Android, Galaxy Note 4, just see full site browser version. When you say cache cleared, where? Within dashboard theme? Don’t have any specific cache plug in. If you mean control panel, I don’t have access for this client via Go Daddy; if so, will need to call GoDaddy to clear. Any other ideas why you see what you see on iPhone?
PS I cleared my phone and computer browser cache.
