    Hey,
    You need to enable minify in your w3 total cache settings. That will help out a lot with your scripts. You will always need some render blocking scripts. Google will tell you to remove theme but it’s only based on suggestions. You can limit theme but in general unless you want a super simple site you will need some.
    Run amazon.com through google page speed and you will see what I mean.

    Your biggest issue I see is the server response time: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cEvy6f/Altdetbedste.dk It’s really really bad. I suggest contacting your host.

    ok.. i’ve done some digging. Woocommerce intentionally does it this way. A workaround is to call the subtitle instead of the total.

    Move templates/header-topbar.php on line 41 change out this section:

    $woocommerce->cart->get_cart_total();

    to this:

    $woocommerce->cart->get_cart_subtotal();

    Then add this to your functions.php file:
    remove_filter('add_to_cart_fragments', 'kad_woocommerce_header_add_to_cart_fragment');

    Make sure to add something to your cart to clear the cache.

    Hi Laura,
    I’m not seeing this. What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing your cache?

    Hello,
    my website takes a long time to load, I have activated browser cache and did website compression using W3 Total Cache.
    I reduced the image sizes, too. After this, I have retested the site using pingdom and it seems to have some problem but I have no idea how I could fix this…
    Could you please help me with this? The shop site seems to take most time…

    Jonas, is that your only setting that isn’t changing?
    If you’re going to use a caching plugin I would recommend W3 Total Cache or WP Rocket.

    I checked and can confirm that the logo is still appearing on Windows devices. Odd. Have you tried disabling plugins to see if anything is conflicting? What about your cache? try clearing that as well and hopefully that will resolve the issue.

    You can try a plugin such as WP Super cache and see if that helps! It does indeed make it a bit harder to diagnose your issue without being able to view your site though.

    Hi again!

    Thanks for reply. Im building a webshop and I haven’t launched it yet, so I think its hard to see the actual problem before I launch it.

    Kevin: I tried to clear the cache in the web browser (Safari), but do you mean that I should clear it somewhere else?
    I havnt installed any plugins for cache.

    Hey, sorry for the delay!

    1. Just checked from an Iphone6 and can see all your images. What device are you using?

    2. Also not seeing this. Have you tried clearing your cache?

    3. There’s not a simple way to achieve this, sorry. Your best bet may actually be to use some sort of mobile template.

    4. Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

    .box_round {
        width: 50%;
        margin-left: 25%;
    }

    Hope that somewhat helps!

    Hello!

    I have the premium version of your Virtue Theme and are in general very satisfied.

    I have a slight problem though; I cannot manage to change the text of “Your Cart” in the top menu.
    Theme options > topbar settings: I activated “Show Cart total in top bar?”
    Then I went to: Theme options > Language Settings > Topbar Cart Total Text: And try to write “Varukorg” (Which is “Your Cart” in Swedish).

    Then I hit “save changes” but still it doesn’t change. What is wrong?
    I tried to clear the cache of the web browser (Safari), but it didn’t help.

    I use woo commerce and wordpress latest versions. And updated your theme today as well.

    Ok, you need to clear the wp-super cache after each change you make. You have to go to settings > super cache and click the delete cache button.

    You could just use the virtue gallery widget for the slider. Would be a simple slider.

    Hey,
    This sounds like you have wp super cache and you just need to clear the caching.

    #75181

    Yes, I’ve installed WP Super Cache.

    I’ve used the Cyclone slider in the Header widget. Would I be better using the Kadence Slider or attaching the slider in another way to sit above the menu? I’m not very experienced and just trying to figure things out!

    Many thanks for your help 🙂

    Hi Ben,

    I’m spoke with GoDaddy and they also said that ZenCache (or any caching plugin) should be removed because it will conflict with their provided server caching. So I deleted it. I also had them check the php logs and they were fine. They said that they are having some issues with wordpress sites hitting their servers in certain parts of the country and that their admins are working on fixing the problem. So, I have no choice but to wait and see and keep speed testing in the meantime.

    Thank you,
    Gary

    #75128

    Hey,
    You should remove zen cache. You need to use w3 total or wp rocket cache. If your not allowed you need to talk with your host as to why? There is almost no reason for that unless you host has it’s own caching which would also mean you don’t want zen.

    Your server wait time is really really slow. That can mean your host is experiencing some issues or they are limiting bandwidth to your site. It can also mean that your hitting the max memory setting in your php. It would be best to contact your host and talk through this, have theme check your php logs as well for errors. Some hosts may try to say it’s a plugin but really point out the server response time. Like if you look here: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/ejWTFs/http://www.groomsring.com
    it takes over 6 seconds waiting on the server before the “ring box” image starts to download. Thats a very small image and should be instant for the server to pass on.

    Hi Hannah,

    The test says that my site is slower than 96% or other sites tested… I’ve been also testing the size on GTMatrix.com.

    I did not make any changes on to the site because don’t know how and i stay away from codes and other things I’m not experienced with to avoid messing anything up. I have not even begun to as product yet. I compressed and optimized all the images using the WP Smush and Thumbnail Regeneration plugins. I also made sure to scale all of the imaged in my Media to the same cropped size used within the pages. Something else is clearly wrong because there’s also a lot of lagging (3-5 minutes of waiting) just to login to the dashboard via the WP admin. it also lags when I click from one menu to another and anytime I save any changes. I’ve checked the plugins to the best of my ability and even deleted a few and left only the essential ones and the ones that are frequently updated. The last plugin I tested then deleted on my site was Woocommerce Checkout Manager.

    Another concern I have is that the caching plugin I have is ZenCache and it may have something to do with the speed because the message below is constantly displayed at the top of my dashboard which I am not confident enough to do because I’m not experienced enough.

    NOTICE: ZenCache + PHP APC Extension

    “As of December 1st, 2015 ZenCache will no longer run with the outdated PHP APC extension. It appears that you’re currently running PHP v5.4.42 with APC enabled. You will need to follow one of the actions below to run the next version of ZenCache.
    Options Available (Action Required):

    • Please add ini_set(‘apc.cache_by_default’, false); to the top of your /wp-config.php file. That will get rid of this message and allow ZenCache to run without issue.

    • Or, contact your web hosting provider and ask about upgrading to PHP v5.5+; which includes the new OPcache extension for PHP. The new OPcache extension replaces APC in modern versions of PHP.

    The reason I suspect ZenCache is because I deleted it, I tried to upload WP Super Cache and a message popped up stating that due to whatever issues I am not allowed to install it on my site. Then I tried to install W-3 Total Cache and it said the same thing. I hope the theme’s code has been compromised in any way by one of the plugins.

    Please HELP me! I would be glad to give you access to my site’s admin dashboard panel if you’d like to take a look in hopes you can find and fix the the issue quicker

    Thank you,
    Gary

    Hi June,
    I just tested from Safari and Chrome and your topbar menu was working fine on both. Have you tried clearing your cache?
    You can enable/disable menus from Appearance > Menus. Also see here- http://docs.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle/#menus
