Hey Tom,
You can test your site here- http://tools.pingdom.com/
Scaling your images down can make a huge difference. I would also suggest using a caching plugin like this- https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/Hannah

November 30, 2015 at 12:42 pm #69043What plugins do you have installed? Your parallax is not settings correctly some something is interfering with it. Possibly a cache, what are you caching settings?

November 30, 2015 at 10:34 am #69010Sub menu items collapse until opened – I don’t see this on. Is your theme updated, are you using a child theme, have you cleared your cache?

November 30, 2015 at 9:51 am #68995Are you saying I also need to clear it on the tablet? – yes. in your browser settings.
If in wordpress you have the performance option means you have w3 total cache. you need to go to your page cache settings and turn off page cache for the front page.
Yes you should be clearing the cache there also.

November 30, 2015 at 9:49 am #68991You should always clear your super cache plugin after you make a change. You need to go to settings > super cache and click the button for delete cache.
I did not clear your cache.

Looking at a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8″. I did clear the cache on my laptop where I’m building the theme. Are you saying I also need to clear it on the tablet? If so, where do I find it? I see a number of choices under “performance,” including page cache, database cache, object cache, and browser cache. Am I supposed to clear one of those too?
Thanks,

November 28, 2015 at 11:44 am #68809Did you clear your super cache after you made changes?
You need to contact your host about updating the .htaccess file, That is a server file and you would need to access it from the server not from wordpress.

November 25, 2015 at 2:43 pm #68468I just did that 5 times.. It still works fine.
You say it works for you when you clear all browser data of Chrome. Have you tested to see if the issue is in your browser cache specifically?

November 25, 2015 at 9:18 am #68386Hey,
Don’t use both speed boost and w3 total cache those could clash.I think speed boost was more likely your issue.
you can leave minify on. Thats good to speed and it’s not defering.

Hi Greg, what did you do to fix it? I’ve got exactly the same problem – either I get weird icons next to some of my menu items in my primary navigation, or my entire primary navigation bar is rendered really weirdly and looks scrambled. I’m using the HTTPS WordPress and SSL Insecure Content plugins. This only started happening when I upgraded to Pinnacle Premium on the weekend. I wanted to have my site set so only my shop, downloads, and checkout pages are SSL, but right now it’s the whole site as just having certain pages SSL doesn’t seem to be working (the other pages aren’t redirecting to http as they were supposed to in order to help with my page loading speed a bit). What did you do to fix the problem? It’s making me crazy and I don’t know how to do coding (I tried once and broke my site, had to redo the theme from my cPanel). My site is handylittlegadget.ca – it seems to be intermittent when some pages work as https and some don’t, and it definitely is different on different browsers and devices. I’ve tried clearing my cache and my cookies and not much seems to help for more than a few minutes. Thanks very much!

I was digging through my WP Backend and came across the plugin Speed Booster Pack in the Settings menu. It looks like the plugin was deferring some scripts (not sure if it was deferring Jquery though) in order to boost speed ratings. The plugin hasn’t been updated in 10 months and the settings page looked pretty wonky so I deactivated it. Did that fix it? Keeping my fingers crossed that it did….
Also I have W3 Total Cache installed and I’m starting to think that this is causing the issue of deferring Jquery (update: It would appear that this is cause based on this DO Forum here) Should I change the minifying settings?
In forum: Virtue ThemeNovember 24, 2015 at 12:54 pm #68257Hello Ben and Hannah. I have a very weird issue going on. I recently created 2 separate posts on this website wbajamaica.com and the featured image for both posts are not showing proper sizing on the front page of the website where its displayed using the Virtue Carousel or on the actually blog summary page at *Login to see link
The two posts in question are:
The latter one seems to display properly on the front page but the first posts I mention is showing the full image without cropping. On the News page those two posts also have the featured image at the wrong size. I’m puzzled as to why the other images used in the other posts are being displayed properly on the front page and the news page except for these two. It doesn’t seem to be a cache issue. Please help.Thank you.
