    Thank you for contacting Support.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Currently, cache is enabled in your account. This is the reason you are unable to see the updated changes. I have disabled it now. Could you please check your website again after clearing the browser cache and cookies?

You can check Cache Control Tool at: https://www.ipage.com/controlpanel/cachecontrol/ .

    Hi Janine,
So you’re setting the Default post summary feature Image from Theme Options > Blog Options, correct? Have you tried clearing your cache? Can you post a link to your site?

    Hi Nic,
I see you’re using WP-Super cache. That plugin requires you clear your cache after every change is made. Are you doing this?

Hmm that is odd. I wonder if something was effected by a cache. 24 hours is about the time some server caches clear. Did you happen to be on a nginx server?

    Hey Rene,
Are you using any page cacheing plugin?

    Can you post a link?

I like to set Permalinks to “Post Name” but if I set it to anything but “Default”, Pages and Posts work fine, but Portfolios result in “Page not Found”. I’m using the latest version of Virtue and have the problem in both Chrome and Safari and Chrome Mobile. I have cleared the cache in all of them.

This is a new install and I’m using Virtue on 2 other installs that work fine when Permalinks is set to “Post Name”. (I use the same host for all) and I noticed that on my older Virtue installs, the URL looks like this: …/portfolio/1020/ but in the new install when Permalinks is set to “Post Name” the permalink uses the “title” of the portfolio instead of a number after the word portfolio: …/portfolio/bushwood/, where “bushwood” is the title of the portfolio. — and this results in a “page not found”. Any ideas?

Well, I went back into Rev Slider and tweaked some of the settings back, and also cleared the browser cache, so, it seems to be fixed now. I didn’t realize that WP needed to be updated to 4.3 BEFORE the Rev Slider plugin should’ve been updated to 5.0.4.1. But, I’m still on WP 4.2 and the slider seems ok—for now.

When attempting to update WP to 4.3, I just get an error message: “Could not create directory. Installation Failed” Could that be because the whole site is in a sub folder called dev?

The theme has also been updated to the latest version.

Thanks so much for your help—you’d probably rather be packing for your trip!

    Hey,
    1. You should only be updating the rev slider to 5.0.4.1 if your using wordpress 4.3 Earlier version of 5 worked on earlier versions of wordpress 4.2 but those are not options to install.

    2. When you update the theme to the latest version it will prompt you to update the rev slider.

    3. After you updated did you clear your cache? I’m not seeing antying crazy on your site?

Here is what I did just now: Emptied cache of computer (again). Went to Slider Item: http://www.simply-elegant-designs.com/kad-slider/before-and-after-dining-room/

    Clicked “Edit Slider Item”

Scrolled down to “Slider Caption Settings.”

Confirmed that the box is checked that says: “Caption Text Shaddow” is turned to “Hide Text Shaddow.”

    Re-saved again, just in case.

I do not have any caching plugins turned on. I don’t have any special caching programs on my computer or my phone (and it still appears fuzzy/unreadable in both places.) I am using Virtue Premium and the only plugins I have turned on are the ones that came with the theme. (Kadence, Cyclone, Revolution, & BlackStudio TinyMCE Widget.)

Another thought, but really I don’t know: Maybe there is something overlaying the caption area? Because it doesn’t just look shadowed, it looks like you’re viewing it through Saran Wrap or something.)

Sorry for all this work! I really, really, REALLY appreciate your help!

Did you clear your cache in the super cache settings after the change was made?

    Hannah

    #54517

    Hey Brett,
Try updating wordpress and see if the slider doesn’t show back up.
WP-SuperCache is a plugin. If you’re looking for a caching plugin we recommend WP-Rocket or W3 Total Cache.

I updated everything except WordPress and now my Revolution Slider is no longer working. I went to try and clear the WP SuperCache, but don’t seem to have that in my Settings, maybe that is something that comes with 4.3?

My slider should be right above the four graphic buttons on the main page. Everything in Admin seems right.

    Hi Ben

I have now tried emptying my super cache and re adding my revolution slider – it still does not work…
The slider has been added to this page: http://leidinni.no/slider-test/

I reccomended the virtue theme to a business relation – and they are also having revolution slider problems now…
They have a static page set as their homepage – set up with pagebuilder… And where the fullwith responsive slider used to be there is now only a black block, partially “on top of” the two next pagebuilder elements on their page.

I have helped them copy parts of their main page – so you can se what is happening here too.

    Thank you very much!

You can download from here: http://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/

    Alcy,
What browser are you using? Are you sure your cleared your super cache? I see that there is a cached copy.

Ok I guess I forgot one thing. I did clear my cache that is directly on my site which is zencache, I even deactivated that plugin but what I totally forgot was the Cloudflare cache. I just purged it and the slider now shows up but still minus the Ken Burns effect. It seems like updating the revslider reset the effects parameters for Ken Burns which is strange because my other test sites work fine so I will have to figure those out again. I also can’t seem to find the download link that Themepunch had before where you can download their examples. I downloaded them before but when I tried to import one of them I got the white screen of death…..I guess the old examples zip files don’t work. Thanks.

    #54329

    Hey Omar and Alcy,
I see both sliders. They both scroll through without me clicking anything. Have you tried clearing your cache? Also have you tried logging out?

    Ben
