In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Super Messy Products
Hi,
I’ve searched the forums for hours but nothing I am trying works. I tried all the obvious things including clearing cache and regenerating thumbnails. Everything was fine BEFORE I needed to mess with some critical CSS and photo optimization for the PageSpeed test score. My test score has gone up but now my products look super messy. On the virtue carousel widget in the sidebar they seem to spill away into the abyss of behind the body and in the body the products are simply crazy. Again, I’ve tried to regen thumbs and tried some CSS but couldn’t find what I was looking for. Here are some photos so you can get a visual of my issues. THANKS!!!! Oh yeah – the products in the body are places with the woo shortcodes.
THANKS!!

June 28, 2017 at 1:54 pm #150153Facebook keeps a cache if you’ve previously tried to share it’s possible that right now your just seeing their cached version of your site.
Make sure to clear your “fastest cache” plugin and give facebook time to clear it’s cache. Like 24 hours.

If you followed the steps outlined there, then you should be seeing your featured images and description appear on facebook links.
Try clearing your cache and give facebook a bit to update the information. If you’re not seeing any changes after 20-30 minutes, let me know and I’ll take another look.

June 27, 2017 at 9:19 pm #150080A full-height and full-width slider is a ticky to make work for all screen sizes because you’re asking a ratio to literally flip from really wide horizontal to portrait. It’s just so not what a slider is designed for that it’s not something that works well in one slider. Also, there aren’t options to make text jump into rows on a certain screen size the responsive text resizes based on the screen width and the slider settings so that it stays in the same ratio as the slider settings.
Based on your image I think you are going to find that you don’t want a fullwidth and fullheight slider because your image looks pretty silly if parts are cut off and by setting fullwidth and full height you are forcing the slider to become whatever the screen size is so the image has no say in the size or how much of it gets shown.
Take a look at this for some more info on background images: https://www.kadencewp.com/background-image-sizing/
Using two sliders would be my suggestion if you are truly wanting full height setting as you will get the best results. Especially as your image would look better if you made a custom one for mobile that had a lot more top space.
The reason you were seeing the desktop slider on mobile or mobile on desktop is because of “page caching” you can’t run a page cache (which means your delivering one copy of the site’s output to every device). So you have to turn page caching off for the home page if you want to have a successful slider switch.
I turned off the front page cache for you. But I also created an example slider you can look at that kind of does what you want with one slider.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Shortcode dropdown menu doesn't show any options
Hey Hannah,
I’m using Chrome across multiple devices. On desktop, even after clearing cache, the dropdown menu still doesn’t work. But on mobile, it works.
It seems it’s the same problem that I’ve having with the upload option here http://www.wen.agency/join-us/register/. On my desktop, none of the ‘upload image/video’ buttons work, but on mobile, they do.
But other people using the site are seeing the same upload problem as me.
I’m at a total loss as to what’s causing this. 🙁

Hey Hannah,
I migrated my server, updated to the latest version of php, cleared local and website cache, and deactivated all of my Plugins. But no change. The dropdown Virtue shortcode just doesn’t show anything.
Any other ideas on what this might be a problem with? 🙂

Hey Kevin!
Thanks for the indepth answers. And yes, next time, I’ll definitely stick to one thread per question. Apologies for that.
In response to your answers;
1) Great!
2) My Homepage image still not rendering correctly. I’m using the Kadence Slider, on page Builder, and choosing ‘full-width stretch’, but it’s still coming out in a container, as you can see when you check our homepage
3) Understood. I realized I had an advanced editor on my other site. Installed and now all good. 😀
4) I have the most up-to-date version of the Virtue Theme, and I’m not changing between the two editors. I’m trying to just use Page Builder, but it won’t stay on it. It seems to be the source of the problems in #2, because after a i set ‘layout to Full-width stretch’, click save, the Page Editor reloads, back into Text Editor. When i click ‘Page Builder, all the settings are lost again.
5) Ah, Sidebar template! Got it! ^_^
6) This seems to be the same issue as #4. No matter I build in Page Builder, the page is still reverting to text editor after saving or reloading. I’ve tried emptying cache, but no change.
7) Perhaps I’m not explaining myself. I don’t really mean ‘full-width’ when I say pages aren’t displaying properly I mean, not displaying ‘full-length’ (??). For example, on the page http://www.wen.agency/talents/search-artists/, you can see there is an area directly below the footer bar. I’ve never seen that on a website before, so I assume something is going wrong with my display settings.
Sorry to trouble you with these. And yes, PayPal is an option there now. I’ll be taking advantage of that option shortly. 🙂

June 22, 2017 at 5:58 pm #149669ok, well you need caching. wp-super cache or rocket cache if you don’t like w3 total (which can be tricky to set up correctly for the server).
