If the Advanced Gallery or Advanced Slider blocks are not autoplaying as expected, this is usually not a bug. This behavior can be intentional and related to your device’s accessibility settings.
Another possible source of conflict could be the caching or optimization settings enabled on your site. Click here to view a guide on how to identify and exclude caching settings that may interfere with Kadence functionality.
How It Works
The Advanced Gallery and Advanced Slider blocks use Splide, a lightweight and flexible JavaScript slider that is designed with accessibility in mind. One of its core features is the ability to respect system-level settings that reduce motion or animation.
If your device has these settings enabled, autoplay will be intentionally disabled to support a more accessible user experience.
How to Check Your Accessibility Settings
Accessibility settings vary depending on the device you’re using. Learn how to check your accessibility settings on Windows or Mac below.
On MacOS
- Open System Settings or System Preferences.
- Go to Accessibility, then Display.
- Look for the setting labeled “Reduce motion“.
- If Reduce motion is enabled, autoplay will be turned off by default.
On Windows
- Open Settings.
- Go to Accessibility, then Visual Effects.
- Find the Animation effects option.
- Make sure Animation effects is turned on to allow autoplay.
Summary
This is expected behavior. The slider is designed to follow accessibility preferences set on your device. If autoplay is not working, it’s likely due to a system setting that limits animation for accessibility reasons.
